“CROSS MY HEART”
"Thank you, Sam," Marius happily expressed while keeping his face close to mine. I enjoyed it as well—the warmth of his palms on both of my cheeks. It felt like he was calming my anxious heart.
"Thank you, Marius," I replied to him.
"Soon, I want us to get married, Sam. Is that okay with you?" Marius asked, even though I knew he already anticipated my response.
"Soon? Does that mean in two weeks? Is that it?" I inquired.
"Yeah, exactly. Is that okay with you?" Marius asked again.
I wasn't sure if Marius was seeking assurance or just playfully teasing me, but in the end, I noticed a playful glint in his eyes as he smiled.
"Of course. That's fine with me. Honestly, if my love for you is the basis, then I'd like us to get married as soon as possible," I agreed with him.
Marius's dark eyes sparkled at my response, and his smile widened. All of this warmed my heart, creating a surge of affection in my feelings.
"Don't you want to wait until your memory comes back, just in case?" Marius asked me.
"What if it doesn't return? What if I never remember?" I replied.
Marius looked at me for a moment, then leaned in to give me a gentle kiss on the forehead.
"Whether it comes back or not, what matters is we're getting married because you agreed, right?" Marius stated.
I nodded, maintaining a lovely smile. "Are you sure you want to marry me? What if you change your mind later? What if you regret tying the knot with me?" I playfully asked, followed by a soft and gentle laugh.
Marius consecutively shook his head. Then, he kissed my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.
"That won't happen because my heart is absolutely sure about you. I love you so much, Sam. I've never felt this way with any woman in my life. That's why I don't want to let you go. I know I won't find anyone like you. You're unique in this world," Marius expressed in a heartfelt manner, thoroughly melting my heart.
I remained silent, allowing Marius to continue.
"Sam, you have no idea what you've done to my heart. I can't explain it either. All I know is that I love you, and I don't need any reasons for that. You're everything to me," Marius emotionally shared while gazing deeply into my eyes.
His words deeply touched my heart, and during those moments, I couldn't describe how happy I felt. All I knew was that my heart was overflowing with joy—a feeling that had become familiar to me since being with Marius.
"Many women might die of envy when we get married," I teased him.
Marius laughed softly before pulling me close and giving me a tight hug. In that position, he kissed my forehead and then spoke.
"Let them be. What's important is that we're happy. I don't have any commitment to them, so why should I worry about those things, if there are any," Marius said, pulling away and looking straight into my eyes. "I love you. I love you so, so much. Cross my heart," he added, demonstrating a pretend cross over his heart.
I bit my lower lip in response. Perhaps it was just a simple gesture, but coming from Marius, it carried an extra touch of sweetness.
"I hope you don't change, Sam," Marius said, still looking directly at my face.
My eyebrows immediately furrowed in confusion at his statement.
"What do you mean by 'I hope you don't change'?" I couldn't hide the confusion in my tone.
"I mean, I hope that even as we age, even if you say we've tried all the positions in bed!" Marius slightly raised his voice on the last statement. Whether I was shocked or surprised, I wasn't sure, but what I knew was that I lightly slapped his arm.
"You're so loud!" I scolded him.
"Why? It's just the two of us here, right?" he said, laughing and pinching the tip of my nose.
I just rolled my eyes at him and remained silent. Meanwhile, Marius continued with his sparkling eyes, revealing that he had more to say.
"I hope that even when we're old, I can still make you blush. You know, not just any blush," he said, looking at me meaningfully.
I couldn't help but giggle when I understood the implication of his words.
"Come on, be serious!" I protested while covering my mouth, still chuckling.
Then Marius became serious. He wiped the smile off his lips, but mischievousness still lingered in his eyes due to what he said earlier.
"Seriously, I hope, Sam, that even when we're old, you'll still blush at what I say. I hope I can still make you feel giddy," he expressed, earnestly desiring for what he mentioned.
I fell silent after hearing that. I didn't expect Marius to say those things, and most importantly, I didn't realize that my simple reactions had such a significant impact on him. Even the slight blushing of my face seemed to bring him happiness, which I wasn't aware of.
"I also hope you won't change. You know, when I give birth, I might lose the sexiness you were raving about the other day that you liked so much."
"My love for you isn't that shallow, Sam. The truth is, I can sacrifice or give anything, even my life, for you. Not just because you're the mother of my child, but because of the overwhelming love I have for you," Marius emotionally responded to me.
I couldn't find any words to say after that. I just stared at my boyfriend. The truth is, even if he doesn't speak or say those words, I know what's true. Because I can feel it. Because I can read it in his actions. And most importantly, because it's in Marius's eyes.
"I love you, Sam, so much. Cross my heart."
Marius whispered those words again before he gently lowered my head and kissed me deeply on the lips.
