Chapter 15
LEILANI
“I just want to go.” I cried to my captor.
He tsked and narrowed his eyes. “Not so fast, Lani. I have some questions for you.”
My mind raced. Questions? What did he want?
“If you don’t answer them to my liking, my pal Gary over here is going to take out some of his aggression on you.”
His eyes slid down my body, then back to my face. “Though I might need to get a little something out of my system first.”
My heart folded in on itself. I might have been sheltered all my life, I might have taken classes and schooled in the convent, but I still know things.
I swallowed in terror and horror. His insinuation....!
“Aw, come on.” He grinned, the scar stretching across his jaw. “I’m not so bad.”
I shook my head, tears welling and streaking down my cheeks. “P-please—”
“Let’s get started.” He whipped his jacket off and handed it to Gary, then began rolling up his sleeves. “How do you know The Killer Machine?”
“Who...?” I stared up at him.
His smile faltered as his hand sliced through the air. The ring on his finger connected with my cheekbone.
My head whipped to the side as a whoosh of pain wheezed from my lungs. A scream erupted from my throat.
“Let’s try that again, Leilani.” He dropped to his haunches in front of me, his hands on my knees. “How do you know The Killer Machine?” He slid his hands up my thighs.
I tried to close my legs but they were completely immobilized. My heart thundered against my ribs, and everything inside me went cold as he reached my upper thighs.
“I don’t know that name. Please, stop—” I choked on my plea.
He ran his hands to my waist and unbuttoned my jeans as my entire body shook. “I don’t believe that for a second, Leilani. He has a habit of sitting outside your shop, watching you. You know who I mean, don’t you?” He slid my zipper down. “Nice panties.”
Recognition fired in my mind. “Zero?”
He smirked, “That’s the one. Number Zero. I know you'll be a good girl and admit to knowing him." His cold fingers slid inside the elastic of my underwear.
“Don’t!” I shrank away from his touch, but there was nowhere to go.
“You’re his girl, aren’t you?” He rose and gripped my hair, yanking my head back as he loomed over me.
“J-Just let m-me go, please!” My voice was shrill, brittle. Terror in the very air I breathed.
"Oh, but I can't do that, little girl. You heard what you weren't supposed to hear and it pissed the boss off. I'd bet that dick of your boyfriend killed Scorpion just to save your life."
"Now, he's out of the damn country. When we're done with you, you'll go missing. That damned killer won't be any wiser." He smirked, his eyes sliding over my body.
ZERO
Ten Minutes Later
She's in there, the security tightened up.
I stared at the text message of Morris from the other side of the warehouse building. The cellphone in my hand rang. I placed it to my ear.
"There's one more thing....." Morris groaned, sounding apprehensive.
"What!?" I barked.
"I-I think they hurt her bad." He was quick to add, "But, you have to remember it's extraction not to kill—"
I pocketed my phone.
My breath puffed around my face as I leaned away from the door and brought my foot up. Aiming at the peeling wood next to the door handle, I kicked.
The door splintered and swung open.
Yells erupted inside. I pulled the pin on the flash bang (bomb) and tossed it down the long hall that ran through the center of the house.
I pressed my back against the wall next to the door and waited. More yells. The flash bang detonated.
Charging inside, I fired two shots into a man running down the hall, then stormed after him as he fell.
One more shot to the head ended him as two guys darted into the living room at the front of the house.
Morris caught up with me but to his credit, he didn't say anything. Instead, he fired the men as we rushed forward.
Footsteps coming towards us from down the hall, had us pressing our back behind the door with our guns ready to fire.
“Hey, assholes!” A deep voice cut through the air. “If you want this cunt alive, you’ll walk out of here. Got it?”
"Shit! It's that ass-licker, Gary. If he's here then, that motherfucker Valerie must be here too." Morris mumbled in a low voice to me.
My damn blood froze in my body. That bastard Valerie is a fucking monster like me. Only in a darker, sicker sense.
I kill. But he enjoys making it hurt. Making women scream. Damn motherfucker!
“How do we know she’s alive?” I called.
“Fucking Number Zero.” His voice dripped venom. “This bitch down here told me she hasn’t been fucking you. But here you are, ready to get your dick wet once you get this little piece back. Lying whores, all of them.”
“Is she alive or not?” I gripped the 9 mm(gun) until my knuckles went numb.
If she was dead, I didn’t care how great of a shot he had at me. I would rush through that door and mow down any-fucking-one left alive.
Then, I will roast Felaray alive and scatter his remains at the table of Dragona.
“At least we know she wasn’t raped....at least not by you.” Morris raised his voice, “You can’t get that limp noodle to do anything except dribble piss.”
“I thought that was you, Morris.” Gary spat, the sound magnified by the quiet. "You're supposed to abide by the instructions of your boss, Spider, you fucking traitor."
"Instead, you are hiding in the shadow of that crazy motherfucking killer. I’m going to skin you before I put a bullet in your brain.” Gary's voice boomed.
“Yeah, real scary, man.” Morris chuckled. “I’ll take my chances with a guy with dry balls like you any day of the week.”
“Motherfucker!” Gary’s rage blazed up like a match in the dark. “You cocksuckers want to know if she’s alive?"
A scuffling sound. “Here you go.”
A scream, high and terrified, ripped through the air.
