Chapter 58
ZAVIER [Zero]
Only then, only when I felt her body convulse in the final spasms of completion did I drive fiercely for my own fulfillment.
It's so damn sweet to fvck her this way that I had to put in extra effort not to loose control and drive mindlessly. I'll rather cut of my damn hand than hurt her or our baby.
So, even as I increased the tempo, I was so careful with her shivering pregnant body.
A groan escaped my mouth as spasms of aching pleasure that built and built and suddenly blazed in my taut body in an explosion of heat and light, making me so fvcking mindless, shapeless, formless.
I was part of her, as she was part of me. There was nothing in the world, only the two of them. Only…this…!
Only our erratic breathing filled the silence afterwards, my arms hugging Lani's lax body to me for several minutes, I knew the exact moment she fell into an exhausted sleep.
I rose and lifted her into my arms and carried her to the bedroom. I laid her out on the bed and stared at her naked form unguardedly.
Going to the damn bathroom, I withdrew a washcloth and cleaned her up thoroughly. She sighed softly, took a deep breath and continued sleeping.
Afterwards I took a shower, changed to my nightclothes before I joined her on the bed. The next minutes that followed, I studied her sleeping form, my eyes focusing on that part of her that nestled our baby safely.
I palmed her belly tentatively. "I found out about you today, you know?"
Then, I frowned when I found out that I spoke out loud. So now, I speak to little humans still in the belly?
I remembered the part where I read that it's good to talk to the little one from time to time and my frown desolved.
"Sleep tight, little human." I placed a kiss on her belly one last time before I spread out on the bed and drew the covers over her.
I was about to close my eyes when the vibration of my phone caught my attention.
I picked it up and stared at the caller, and groaned soundlessly when I found out that it's that assh0le Morris.
He only calls these days to rant and rage about the upcoming wedding, and Lani's bridesmaid. I glared at the phone. I'm too damn tired to listen to his rants this night.
"There'd better be a damn good reason while you'll call by midnight, you asshole." I groaned as I picked it up, speaking in a low voice so I won't wake Lani.
"Of course, there's a good damn reason. A murder's gonna happen really soon! That's the damn reason! I'm gonna kill someone and it's gonna be no other person than that little orphan brat, goddammit!!!" He shouted on the phone.
I placed it far from my ear and glared at the phone again before placing it back to my ear. "Lani will kill you if she hears you call her that and keep your voice the fvck down!." I growled lowly.
He didn't keep his voice down. "I can call her whatever the hell I want. Aaargh! That little sharp-mouth frustrates me to no end! Whoever the fuck ever thinks she can make a good bridesmaid anyway!? I'm gonna peel out her damn green eyes and jack off all her auburn hair and----"
I turned off my cellphone and kept it back on the cabinet. Turned off the lights and closed my eyes.
I took a deep breath in ardent confusion. I don't know if I should be damn worried if they'll set our wedding day on fire with the goddamn confusing malice between them.
Whatever the hell is the problem between that bastard Morris and the girl?
LEILANI.
Zavier refused adamantly to go to the station, saying he can't leave me by myself. It took a lot of convincing from my part telling him that I'll be fine before he finally agreed.
Romeo and Romeria was in the sitting room playing around, while Zavier and I were in the bedroom.
Zavier was all dressed up to go to the police station. I walked to the shoe cabinet and brought of the black pair of shoes he newly purchased.
When I stared at his clothe and see that the pair will match well, I smiled in triumph and strode towards him with the shoes. He stood beside the bed doing the button of his slacks.
I knelt down and urged his legs into his shoes. Then, I got up and started doing his buttons too.
"Morris called last night." Zavier said, as he removed his hands to give me assess to the buttons.
I spared his face a glance before I focused back on the buttons. "He did? What did he say?"
"He was livid."
"Let me guess, about Miranda?" All done, I patted his chest twice in satisfaction.
"Yes, that's her name. Morris was raving about how he's going to do things to her, said she frustrates him to no end." He explained as he walked to the nightstand and took his keys.
A smile crossed my lips. "Funny enough, Miranda is saying the same time. She called yesterday's evening complaining about 'the dumb best man'. She spend minutes complaining about his annoying attitude and the way he speaks obscenities at every word."
"I can still remember then, when you flinched at every cuss word." Zavier's lips twitched.
We walked out of the bedroom together. I grinned at him, "I remember then too."
Then, I took a deep breath. "I don't know if there's anyway for Morris and Miranda to get along at least until after our wedding. How would I have known that putting those two in charge of the wedding preparations will be a bad idea?"
"Uncle Zavier! You going out?" Romeo interrupted with a cheerful smile, running closer to us.
I ruffled his curls affectionately while Zavier answered, "Yes, Romeo but I'll be back before you know it."
"Can I come with?"
"You can't, little man. But you'll definitely come with me another time, okay?"
"Alright, alright, Uncle Zavier. See you soon!" He waved twice and Romeria waved too before they left us and started chasing each other around again.
With a smile, I dragged my eyes away from them and glanced at Zavier, stopping at the door while he walked past it before he stopped.
"They just have to stick it out. I'll call Morris to tell him to behave. The both of them should get along long enough for us to have a wedding and then they can kill each other or part ways amicably." Zavier grunted.
"My sentiments exactly."
"I'll be back soon, doll. Take care of yourself and don't stress yourself." His brows knitted together, "I don't know if I want you going around shop-hunting and---"
I covered his lips with one finger, shaking my head slowly. "I'm pregnant, not handicapped, honey. I'll be fine."
He looked unconvinced.
"Please, Zavier, I'll be fine I promise."
"Can you promise not to overdo it. To stop when you feel tired and call me if there's any problem at all?"
"I promise. I'll do just that."
He still looked unconvinced but he nodded once.
"Please, remember to curb your feelings and control yourself, honey. Don't go violent so it won't make them look at you suspiciously. They can't find out what you're capable of." I pleaded with him.
"They won't." He reassured me firmly.
We said goodbye with kisses and hand waves before he entered the car and drove off.
