Chapter 60
ZAVIER [Zero]
"Romeria....now, that's a nice name, Sheriff. How old is she? Is she little and pure like a new bird?" The crazy bastard drawled with an evil smile on his face.
He licked his lips, his eyes glazed over in lust. "Tell me, Sheriff, will the little one fit so tightly around c0ck?"
My control snapped.
In two steps, I got in front of him. Just as fast, I snaked my hand through the space between two bars and caught him at the back of his head.
Just as fast, I held tight on the head and....BANG!
The sound was high in the air as I shoved his head face-forward to the bar with so much force, it rattled badly on impact.
"Aaaaarh!!" He howled in pain as I withdrew my hand from his head, he fell to the ground immediately and started convulsing.
Blood gushed from his nose and forehead.
"Fuck! Call an ambulance! Lander, get the damn keys let's get him out!" Cole shouted and everywhere became a burst of movement.
I crossed my arms and watched as some ran to get the keys while some others ran to the phone to call an ambulance.
They opened the door and carried out the convulsing man, and hurriedly carried him out.
"Shit! What the bastard said was annoying as fuck but you should have tried to hold it in, dammit!" Cole cussed, kicking the bars in frustration.
I said nothing, just watched him.
Heavens knows that I wanna do more fvcking harm to the bastard but Lani's face in my mind and one particular preaching I've heard in the church last three weeks stopped me.
They can only know Zavier Ryker. Not Number Zero.
Cole hurriedly walked out to join the others as he kept saying, "Damn, I'm so fvcking worried right now. This is a way for this bastard to escape from the hospital! It's the opening he needs!"
He's worried about that? "Don't worry, I'll keep guard on him. He ain't going nowhere."
He stopped and spared me a glance. "You'll do that?"
I shrugged, "This is my mess. I'll clean it up."
"Spoken a true man. Just between you and I...." He pulled his face closer to mine and whispered, "I'm happy for what you did now. I've always wanted to hit that bastard myself but policies have always held me back."
I snorted as he said those and even when he patted me at the back and said, "Good job, son."
Then, he was walking away but before he dissapeared from sight, he shouted, "But we'll teach you how to follow policies so you don't go around fucking up prisoners and causing problems for yourself."
"Even when the damn prisoners deserve it?" I asked without heat.
He grinned, "Especially when they deserve it." He threw back before he dissapeared from sight.
LEILANI
Two Weeks Later.
Our wedding day was a success, even though at a point in the day, it wasn't looking that way at all.
Morris and Miranda argued and insulted themselves at every turn. Even on the way to the church, they threw words at each other.
At a point, I wondered if this is the same sweat-natured Miranda at the orphanage that smiles every single day and never gets angry.
How and why does Morris provoke such violent response from her?
"Aaaaargh! You bad man! You look like the very devil in that suit, that's what you look like! Ugly duckling like you!" Miranda screamed at Morris when the car parked at the church garage.
"Coming from a red-headed witch like you!? It's a compliment, you bitch!" Morris threw right back.
Miranda screamed and threw the flower at him.
Morris dogged it and laughed maniacally and triumphantly at a more-raging Miranda.
Suddenly, it was too much for me and I burst out crying. "The both of you, stop! You're ruining our wedding!" I cried.
At my cry, Zavier got so angry and turned raging eyes to glare at Morris.
Morris had stopped laughing and looked so shocked that I'm crying. Even Miranda looked really shocked too. They raised their hands in surrender and apologetically.
"Jesus, Lani, we have no wish to ruin your wedding, I swear it. Please, don't cry..." Morris groaned, sparing Zavier a glance, "You really have to stop before your fvcking husband-to-be really beats me up and ruin everything."
I know I shouldn't be crying but I couldn't help myself. For months now, I'm always easily moved to tears and I know it's not Morris or Miranda's fault but my pregnancy hormones.
I almost wiped the tears that fell but remembered that it'll only ruin my makeup and stopped. I stared helplessly at Miranda.
"There, there, it's okay, I'll do it." She walked closer, took out a handkerchief and quietly darted my face before she nodded in satisfaction.
"You two won't fight again?" I asked in a small voice.
"We won't." Mirander said.
"We swear." Moris chirped in at the same time.
Miranda glared at him, "We don't swear, it's against God's teachings!"
Morris returned the glare and ignored her, "Have I told you that you're the most beautiful bride I've ever seen?" He grinned at me.
My face flushed and I ducked my head. "Thanks"
I remembered how beautiful I did look, when I stared at the mirror in the morning, in my long extravagant white wedding gown and a very longer veil at the back of my head.
Zavier stepped forward and hit Morris at the back of the head. "You better behave, you assh0le. If she shed another tear for you again, you'll finish this wedding in your goddamn grave."
"Don't take it out on me motherfvcker. I wonder who the fvck got her pregnant in the first damn place because I'll tell you that that very bastard is the one to blame for this, Sherrif Zaviiiiier!" He shot right back.
"Jesus Christ, he can't say a word without vulgarisms!" Miranda threw her hands up in disgust.
"Children, let's get ready now, we're about to start." Sister Benedetta's voice drew all our attention. She looked radiant with a huge smile on her face.
A smiled formed wide on my lips and I waved at her. She returned the wave.
🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲
The wedding was a very successful one. We said our vows and the priest blessed our union.
I had a huge smile on my face for half of the day and I know that Zavier is happy too. A lot of people witnessed our wedding here in Jacobville, even Zavier's colleagues at work.
Romeo and Romeria were our little flower-holding couples. It is the very best day of my life.
I stood with Romeria while I watched Zavier and the sisters interact. He was so polite with them, even Morris cleaned out his tongue while speaking with them.
There was no more drama between Morris and Miranda, thank God. They glared at each other from time to time but they never got into verbal blows again.
ZAVIER [Zero]
The sun is almost gone when Lani and I started the drive home.
While the driver drived, I held a very exhausted Lani in my arms at the backseat of the car.
With her head on my chest, I listened to her even breathing. She is so gorgeous today I've never seen a more beautiful woman in my life.
The white wedding gown suited her so much, I'm damn glad we bought it because today won't be the last day she'll put it on. There's still so many years to go.
I got scared most of the time when I thought she's gonna step on it and fall, but thank fuck, it didn't happen. Either Miranda, Morris and I, are always a few step behind her to catch her if she does.
When she walked up the aisle to me, I couldn't keep my eyes from staring. That damn image has been burned into my head.
I thought her an angel before but as she walked up to join me at the altar in that light of innocence and vulnerability that never abated her, she looked like an archangel.
"Are you alright?" I groaned, stroking her silkly blond curves wrapped tightly in a bun at the top of her head.
"I'm tired but it's so worth it. Today's the happiest day of my life." She stared up at me as she revealed with a shy but radiant smile.
"Mine too. You're mine now, angel." I stated matter-of-factly, "you're never getting away from me."
"You two, you're not getting away from me too." She whispered.
"You're my wife."
"You're my husband." She sighed and snuggled closer, "I love the sound of that."
"We could have changed locations. Even traveled out for our honeymoon."
She shook her head as always. "I don't want anywhere else. Our house is more than enough. After I give birth, maybe...we'll go to Paris." She sighed dreamily, "I've always wanted to go to Paris."
I placed a hand on her baby bump and caressed our baby.
"Zavier?"
"Mmh?"
"My back hurts."
I hugged her to me and started massaging her back gently. She laid her head on my shoulder and melted into me.
"Your hands...feels heavenly." She moaned.
The sound went straight to my c0ck and jerked my half-aroused bastard to full arousal. I've been half-fvcking-aroused all day watching her.
"Zavier?"
"Mmh?"
"I love you." She whispered softly.
My hand stilled and resumed patting her again. For the first time, I said words I never thought I'd ever say in my whole damn life.
"I love you too, Leilani."
