Stephen was quietly brooding in his office. He was hurt from his conversation with Quinn's mother.
Who did she think she was?
Even though she was a Stone, did that give her right to trample on others? Did that give her the right to act arrogant towards him?
He made a mistake... Women were arrogant...
But deep down, he knew she had every right to act that way towards him; she was after all a Stone.
And who were the Stones?
The most powerful family in the country.
He tapped his fingers impatiently on the table... What if he met with her dad instead?
He had pure intentions... He only wanted to court their daughter.
Then ?
He was also from the Arnold's family.. He was also wealthy in his own right. Although he couldn't compare to the Stone's family at all.
Compared to them, his own family was just a speck of dust.
But he wasn't deterred at all... In fact, his determination increased...

His assistant came in at that moment.
"What is it?" He raised his brows at him.
"President, his assistant turned down the appointment request." With a respectful bow, his assistant reported.
"What!! Did he give any reason?" Stephen asked furiously.
"None at all.. He only said he was too busy.." His assistant kept his head bowed.
Busy hunhh??
"You may leave." Stephen waved his assistant away.
He bowed again and left.
"Damn you all!!." Stephen banged his fists on the table furiously.
What was all this?
They were siding with their daughter right?
He had to do something...
'Hah.. My godfather..' A smiled plastered itself on his face as he recalled something.
Since they were siding with their daughter,he was going to force them to compromise...
"Let's see how you would evade this." He smirked.
His godfather was a very close friend of the Stones. He was Brendon King..
What if he told his godfather to suggest a marriage alliance between both families?
He had been suffering himself unnecessarily all along..
An easy path was waiting for him and he didn't notice or remembered at all...

Stephen sat in the living room of a big villa. He was patiently waiting for his godfather to come out.
Sounds of someone approaching was heard and Stephen turned towards the direction.
"Look who finally remembered me!" Brendon laughed heartily as he supported himself with his walking stick.
Stephen rose respectfully.
"It's been a while, father." Stephen smiled.
"I know you have been busy.. Sit, sit.." Brendon was fond of this godson of his...
He was smart, capable, and of course, handsome.
Coffee was served and as the two men sipped on it, they continued chatting.
"So, what brings you here?" Brendon asked after a while.
From the look on his face, he knew he wasn't just here to see him. He wanted to request for something.
He was sure...
Stephen cleared his throat awkwardly at having his intentions exposure.
"Hmm..," Stephen cleared his throat.
"I wanted you to help me with something." Stephen lowered his gaze to the sparkling floor. Brendon loved beautiful things...
"I know. Go ahead and tell me what it is." Brendon smiled. His conjecture was correct after all..
Stephen cleared his throat again and explained everything to him.
Brendon was silent for a while. In fact, his silence began making Stephen uncomfortable.
"Does she love you?" Brendon asked after a while of silence.
Stephen adjusted his posture on the sofa.
"Father, she likes me. I'm sure I can transform her feelings to love." Although Stephen said it in a confident manner,he was still unsure of his words.
Would Quinn accept him?
What if the truth was unraveled as time went by?
Would she feel betrayed?
He knew what sort of person Quinn was.
However...
Stephen decided to take the risk.
As far as she was his, he could deal with her anger when the time came..
"Are you sure about it, son?" Brendon asked looking straight into Stephen's eyes.
"I'm sure, Father."
Stephen didn't turn his gaze away. He boldly met Brendon's state with his.
Brendon lowered his gaze after a while.
Ever since the death of his wife, he had been in seclusion. He bought a private villa and lived alone.
He had married his wife against her wish, although he loved her.
He didn't understand the extent of her hatred for him.
He didn't even know she was taking birth control pills...
It wasn't as if he was particularly bothered about having a child...
But...
Even ten years after their marriage, she continued hating him.
She committed suicide few years back, leaving a sad Brendon behind.
Brendon didn't want Stephen to make the same mistake... He wanted both of them to love each other equally.
"Father, if you don't help me, I will find another way to make her mine." Stephen said resolutely.
Brendon widened his eyes a little.
He could see the obstinate look in Stephen's eyes and he knew he meant every bit of the words he just said.
"Since you are sure about it, I will help you." Brendon eventually agreed.
Stephen smiled at his words,
"Thank you, father. I won't forget this." Stephen said.
"I know you wouldn't." Brendon chuckled.
Stephen rose to leave after a while.
"Aren't you going to stay a little?" Brendon laughed.
Since Stephen was done with his mission,of course he wanted to leave.
"I will come around next time. I have to see to something." Stephen rushed out of the villa after bidding his farewell.
After Stephen left, Brendon shook his head in pity.
He knew how this kind of relationships would end... They could never be happy together.
But could he convince Stephen whose mind was already made up?
No way...
He had to help him. If not, Stephen may use other questionable ways to get Quinn...
Juvenile tendencies...
He was once like that too.
But how did it end up?
It ended up making him a widower...
His wife was vicious; waiting for many years of union with him, before taking her life...
