"Good to see you mom." Matilda half dragged her to the couch and they both sat down.
"I'm sorry mother." Kathleen suddenly said.
"Sorry? For what?" Matilda was confused.
Why was she apologizing?
"For denying you the right to organize your son's wedding." Kathleen bowed her head.
"It's not your fault child. Your husband made the decision." Parker said as he walked down the stairs with the aid of his walking stick.
"Father." Kathleen stood up respectfully.
"Sit,sit. As I was saying, your husband made the decision. If there is anyone that has to apologize,it should be us." Parker said gently.
"Why?" It was Kathleen's turn to be puzzled.
"We denied you the opportunity to experience the joys of being a bride." Matilda patted her head comfortingly.
"I'm actually not bothered by that. The most important thing is that we are already married. We can have a proper wedding later." Kathleen smiled.
Henry's parents smiled back. This was originally meant to be a marriage alliance, but it seems Kathleen truly loved their son.
Wasn't he lucky?
"What about Henry? Why didn't he come along with you?" Parker asked frowning.
"Father... Don't be mad at him, he went to the office actually. Hahaha." Kathleen said laughing.
"But you left your own work just to be with him. Well, since you aren't bothered, what can we say?" Matilda smiled.
"Of course mum, I'm not bothered." Kathleen chuckled.
"When are you moving in to his mansion?" Parker inquired.
"We haven't discussed that yet." Kathleen said awkwardly.
She was actually hinting to them that Henry hadn't said a word about them living together.
"I will talk to that son of mine. He seems slow in this kind of situation." Parker complained.
"He knows what to do... He isn't a child after all." Matilda got up and headed to the kitchen.
Kathleen followed suit.
"No, go back and chat with your father-in-law." Matilda turned to object.
"It's fine mum. I want to help you." Kathleen refused.
Matilda didn't argue any further. The two women entered the kitchen.

Matilda watched as her daughter broke some eggs in a bowl; she wanted to make pancakes.
"When do you plan on having a child, Kathleen?" She arranged some vegetables on the chopping board and cut them dexterously into bits.
"Soon mother... We will give you a grandchild soon." Kathleen turned and smiled at her.
"Not a grandchild but grandchildren.." Matilda chuckled as she corrected her daughter-in-law.
"Noted mum. We will give grandchildren." Kathleen said laughing.

Soon, the meal was served.
Parker glanced at the spread on the table and licked his lips in anticipation.
They dug into the food and chatted while eating.
"I hope you are preparing to give us grandchildren soon?" Parker questioned all of a sudden.
Kathleen almost choked and she hurriedly drank some water.
Why were both of them anxious to have grandchildren?
"Soon enough father..." Kathleen replied trying to hold back her laughter.

She wasn't ready to have children yet.
