Guts
He knew the way to the middle of the forest. He also always appears in front of me even though I can’t see him walking towards me.
“Adra!”
If I was thinking right, why did he tell me that wasn’t true? He embarrassed me in the whole class just to don. So how ….
What is his reason?
“Hey!” I stopped at the thought of Alta hitting my shoulder.
“H-ha?”
“Three isaw, four betamax and then two adidas. What’s yours? Hurry up and you might run out of betamax!” si Alta.
Then it entered my mind that we were outside the school, it was not far from there. We’ll just eat for a while and come back right away because we have groupings on one of our subjects.
Fortunately, there is someone who sells stitches here. It’s not that the food in the cafeteria isn’t good, we just really like it now. Even though the school we go to is private, we are not that rich, that’s right.
“Six blood bro, then three skewers. Two chicken feet. Is there still a barbeque?” I asked the girl who was grilling.
He turned to me as he fanned causing me to smoke even more. “Yes, how many?”
“Just two, sissy.”
He started grilling them. “Did you turn a lot of blood? Maybe that’s too much, high blood you can reach,” Alta said.
“I can still get ten of that in a day, Alta nothing happens to me.” I like betamax so I’m really like this.
“So you’re waiting for something else to happen to you?” she says laughing.
“Stop it Alta, you who got seven adidas! Maybe later that will be a chicken there!”
“It’s not like that!” I said in my defense.
“My brother’s grill is really delicious, it’s still clean!” Alta who was still chewing isaw in his mouth.
The grilled ones were cooked so we went back to school. As we entered many students were running towards the gathering of others there near the park. Alta and I looked at each other. What can there be?
Alta swallowed the remaining isaw on the stick then nodded at me as if he knew what I was thinking. “Come on, let’s see.”
Even though there were many clusters we squeezed to get to the front and see exactly what was there. I also handled my betamax and adidas well.
“Gosh! You’re so weak you freak!”
“Bernadette, that’s so bright it rhyme with what you said!” Bethany said, her friend.
I sighed. Bernadette and her group. Vlad and his friends were not among them. Bernadette was holding a book and artistically opened it and then threw stones at the woman who had fallen to the ground, next to it were scattered linen. The others laughed.
“Who still reads at this century? That’s shit and it looks like you.” Now I know why Bernadette is stupid. Is she serious? Where can you get all the information you can find out without books?
In this century where technology rules the world. Anyone can just search on Google and browse for the knowledge that they need but not everything on the internet is proven as a fact. Although books are a little bit old school it still gives you the best and right information you can find.
I really don’t know why Bernadette said that but I think up to this century, everyone is still reading a book or maybe there are few people who still does, like me. I don’t just read novels I also read about philosophy. Book is first one to be the source of knowledge and wisdom before technology but how can she know that? She’s not even reading anything at all.
It’s just that she’s good and beautiful. Here we can prove that God does not really give everything.
“Bernadette, maybe she’s lacking in attention again. No playmate!” Alta laughed. I also smiled at what he said. Bernadette is still as young as she is, she is still being bullied.
For fucky’s sake, were already fourth year college and she’s still like that.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to bump into you …” That voice sounds familiar to me. My eyes shifted at the girl.
Fucky! I’m right, Layla. For all that he and this other woman can face. Is he really like that? Always frustrated? After all, I’ve been hit twice. Always bent over so that’s it, it’s trendy to look at the road, Layla.
I took a deep breath then turned to Alta. “Wait, Hold on,”
“Hey! Will you?” I can’t help but defend Layla, Bernadette has just started fighting with her without a playmate!
“Hey who are you ?!”
My forehead furrowed when I saw a man in front of Layla.
That guy is wearing a hood that’s why I can’t see his face.
“Leave her alone, she’s not doing anything wrong.” His voice is deep.
Fucky! That voice… That’s the guy!
“So now you have a night in doing armor huh. Look Mr. I don’t care about you. You should fuck off, your out of the line. You don’t know who you’re talking to,” Bernadette said.
His head fall off without even touching it, showing his pale gorgeous face to everyone. His strong features make him look more dangerous.
Bernadette’s eyes widened. He could not speak immediately. He seemed to be statuesque on the stand.
The man no longer waited for Bernadette to speak. He knelt down one by one picked up the scattered books. Layla did the same. I saw him hold out his hand to Layla.
“Because you have to be careful.” I took Layla’s arm and helped her stand up before she could even reach her hand.
His forehead furrowed at what I did but he just let me go. I turned to the man. The two of us met eye to eye.
Until now it seems like I can still see his red eyes. His eyes didn’t take long for me as he turned to Layla.
“T-thank you.” Layla.
“You don’t need to thank me. Take care of yourself, that would be enough.” Fucky! Why is there such a thing as this man?!
He would have given the book to Layla when I took it from him. “She’s right, be careful Layla. It looks like everyone here at Tibythria University has hit you.” I laughed and then gave him the book.
I’m not sure but I could see the annoyance on his face at what I did. That didn’t last long because she was also ashamed to bend down to look at the man.
I looked around. “The show is over and you’re leaving!” Chismakers. They were obedient because he also took off.
“S-thank you again.” Layla. The man nodded at him and then walked away.
“Shit! Who’s that hot guy?” Bethany. “I-I don’t know but he’s so hot!” Bernadette was still an idiot.
I turned to Layla. “You don’t have to thank me.”
“Hey Adra! What’s that?!” Alta shouted as she approached.
Fucky! Why am I wasting time? I need to talk to him.
“Let’s talk later, Alta.” I hurriedly promised then ran away.
Where is that?
I continued walking.
The image of what happened last night made me realize everything. Now it all make sense to me.
His pale face and his mysterious acts. The fact that he leads me right in that spot were I saw the vampires. The reason why were out of that place in just a blink of an eye.
And lastly his red eyes.
“Wait!” Fucky, that’s him!
He was walking out of school. I need to catch up with him.
Fangs
“I know you know why I’m following you.”
“I don’t even know you, Ms.” He said in a serious tone.
Fucky!
Why is he now pretending not to know me?
“I know you’re only acting when you don’t know me.” He ignored what I said, instead he walked over and passed me.
Fucky!
“I know you tried to erase my memory earlier!”
Fucky! I don’t really want to say that because I’m not sure but I can’t take it back now, I said it already and it’s effective because he turn around. His crossed his arms. His dark eyes are darted on me while his eyebrows are furrowed. I can tell that he’s more serious now.
“I know what happened last night, you don’t have to tell me anymore so you don’t have to pretend you don’t know me. I know you’re just doing it because you haven’t erased my memory,”
“You know the way to the middle of the forest, you were even ahead of me, when I shouted and the vampires noticed that, you quickly removed me from there until we reached the end of the forest, in the ravine where the sea is near. . “
He didn’t speak and just stayed on the stand while listening to me. I don’t know what he was thinking because his face was just serious as he stared at me.
“I know why you’re always showing up infront of me out of nowhere just like a while ago. You’re pale face and you’re mysterious acts.”
Adrasteia you’re so dumb! Why didn’t you even notice right from the very start ?!
I admire a creature like you, maybe I’m addicted to reading novels when you’re the flesh and always the hero!
“Sometimes you suddenly disappear…” I laughed.
“I don’t know why I didn’t notice right away … My stupid idiot for not being noticed!” I furiously said in between my bitter laugh.
“You’re a vampire.”
His face remained serious.
Fucky!
He doesn’t even look shocked that I know his secret. He’s a fucky vampire!
How can he remained so calm?
“Vampire?”
“Yes you’re a vampire! I know the truth so you don’t have to dream anymore. You’re just a vampire.” My dream will come true.
“If Im a vampire I would definitely bite you right now.” He made a serious promise.
Fucky! This is it!
I walked near him then I stretched my leg longer tug my blouse up to my shoulder so he could fully see it.
“All right, bite.” Suck and kiss me more if you want. I don’t mind.
He slowly approached me while not taking his gaze away from my eyes. He bowed slightly. Feeling his warm breath on my neck made me gasp.
Fucky! Finally!
I can bite a vampire! Not just a vampire but a handsome vampire who is even more delicious than Edward Cullen!
I close my eyes as I hope that his bite won’t hurt that much. The anticipation is killing me right now.
I swallowed hard then sighed heavily.
I closed my eyes for a few minutes but still nothing happened. I opened my eyes and the smiling face of the man opened up to me.
My eyebrows furrowed.
Fucky!
Why is he smiling devilishly?
Her grin turned to laughter. My forehead furrowed, why is he laughing? What’s funny?
“You’re so delusional.” What?!
“Did you see any fangs here?” He asked while licking his upper lip slightly showing his perfect set of white teeth. I know it’s supposed to mock me but I find it fucky sexy.
I just stayed on the stand, not knowing what to do or say. I didn’t expect that reaction from him. Its face is serious.
I swallowed hard as he came near me. We’re only inches away.
“No fangs. No bite.”
I feel the warmth on my cheeks. I’m blushing not because I’m shy or whatever. It’s because I’m furious at him! My jaw clenched. Why does he have to make me fun of me ?! Why does he keep on denying the truth ?!
I know that I’m right! He’s a vampire!
My instinct never failed me. I will prove it.
“Fine. Deny it.” I gritted my teeth.
“You’re crazy Ms. I already told you, you’re not in a story.” He chuckled.
My eyes narrowed. “So you can remember now huh.” The smile disappeared from her lips. “I’ve proven the vampires in this town are real, something that’s hard to believe. I can afford to prove that you’re one of them.”
I was tired of coming home that day. Fortunately, Mama didn’t notice my lethargy. I couldn’t sleep all night because of what happened. What else entered my mind.
“Adra! Your brain is flying again. It’s always like that,” Alta said.
Probably because of what happened yesterday. I entered earlier without myself and in each of my classes I could no longer focus.
“Just lack of sleep.” I’m sorry.
The two of us finished class, we are currently walking down the hallway of the school. There aren’t many people here, maybe because our class ended early.
“Hey sweet!” He was looking where so I followed his gaze.
My eyes narrowed at what I saw.
“Asmodeus.”
“Asmodeus? Is he the man?” Fucky! I thought my brain just said that, didn’t it.
I just ignored Alta’s question. It’s funny to think that I just now found out the name of this in denial vampire.
Asmodeus Vointeroz
I am not familiar with his last name. I don’t often hear that here in Tibythria. I found out his name when I entered the records room. It was forbidden but no one saw me so there was no problem.
I kept my gaze on the two of them and Layla who fell to the ground again, she was probably hit again. Just like yesterday his book was scattered again. He crouched down as he picked it up. Asmodeus knelt down to help him pick it up. He lifted his head and hit their eyes together. It’s like I’m watching a telenovela now. You would imagine a scene in the novel or show where the protagonists first meet, where it all begins. Layla said something, she just seemed to apologize.
My eyes narrowed even more when I saw a faint smile on Asmodeus’ face. He said something that made Layla smile. He held out his hand, Layla was happy to reach out, it helped him to stand up.
This is the scenario I didn’t let happen yesterday, continued today.
“The weakness of his bones.”
I turned to Alta whose eyes were still on the two. “Huh?”
“I said bella gurl’s weakness, too, lame.”
“She’s Layla, not bella.”
He ignored what I said, he continued what he was saying. “It’s always frustrating, frustrating… amazing.”
My head tilted. “What do you mean?”
“Nothing, it’s just that he’s always upset, it’s just amazing.” His eyes narrowed as he still looked at them.
I turned my eyes to the two of them who were now simultaneously walking away.
You’re right Asmodeus, I’m not in a love story… you are.
Fucky! He disappeared again!
I’m out of school, I don’t know where my foot is taking me but I just let it go. For a few minutes I seemed to be walking aimlessly, I also didn’t know where I was because of the thought. I looked around.
Fucky! I’m far from school!
I sighed heavily and closed my eyes. I’m so fucky frustrated right now! I need to confirm it. My guts are telling me that I’m right but I need confirmation from him.
“Why are you following me?” I almost fell in shock when I heard his voice in my ear from behind.
He appeared out of nowhere, like what he always does.
