Chapter 43

Adria's POV:

Ohh! did I tell you that even after asking me to leave his house Austin did not really leave me alone.

He keeps popping up in my life, reminding me about his existence. Not that I ever forget it. But he keeps fueling the fire.

"How did you break into my house?", I asked him while closing the door behind me.

"This particular flat may be yours, but this building belongs to me", he said while folding his hands and leaning back on the sofa. His muscles flexed as he did that. That thick suit was proving to be useless to hide those damn muscles.

"If you don't leave, I will call the cops", I threatened him, but he just chuckled in return. He knew that I won't do such a thing. "Why can't you just leave me alone", I asked him feeling frustrated at his actions.

"You already know that love", he says reminding me of the exact words he told me that day.

*****FLASHBACK*****

I walked out of the classroom and mentally praised myself for surviving yet another day of college. As I was passing by the corridor I saw a girl running towards her boyfriend. The guy looked older than her and it reminded me of Austin. We have almost 8 years of age gap.

Fuck! every fucking thing keeps reminding me of him.

I walked towards my car, it was an Audi. The first and last thing I brought after using the money from the allowance I received from my grandfather. I don't like to spend much money so don't be shocked if you see me using the same car 10 years from now.

Pressing the button of the automatic key I unlocked doors and slid into the driver's seat. "WTF", I screamed when someone opened the door of the passenger seat. But the person standing outside made my heart stop.

"Austin", I whispered his name. It's been almost 7 months since the name rolled out of my tongue. 7 months I last saw him.

"How are you, Adria?", he said his voice so deep almost sounding seductive. He looked like a GQ model in that navy suit he was wearing.

"What... what are you doing here?", I asked him, my voice betraying me as it shook as if I have put a vibrator down my throat.

"I came to meet you. I miss you, Adria", he said while sliding inside the car and taking the passenger seat.

"Why are you sitting in my car? Do I look like a freaking Uber driver to you? Do you expect me to ask you the OTP next?", I barked at him, irritated by the way he was invading my personal space.

You are more irritated cause you don't trust your heart and body around him. I am surprised how you didn't pounce on him yet. My subconscious mocked at me. The bitch was right.

"I see all the time I stayed away from you is proving to be useful. You are returning to your own self, the way you were before I ruined it", he chuckled dryly after saying this, as if mocking himself.

"What do you want Austin?", I was getting more and more irritated as I could feel my heart melt and flow towards him. And I was not able to stop it which irritated me even more.

"You", he said looking straight into my eyes.

"So you gonna kidnap me again?", his face fell instantly as I said this.

"I am sorry for the past Adria but you have to know that I have changed. The only woman I love is you and no one else. It's been 7 months 9 days and 11 hours since the day you walked out of my house, I haven't dated or even met a girl ever since. I wanted to give you time so that you could forgive me but I can't stay away from you anymore", he almost cried. It broke my heart to see him being so vulnerable but I had to be strong.

"During the last few weeks with you, you were very good to me Austin. You said you loved me and were going to marry me, you promised that you would treat me with respect and I believed you. So much that I decided to forget our past and give us a chance. But you proved me wrong the day you kidnapped Cara. You proved that I should have never believed you. It... it brought back all those memories, Austin. It brought back the pain of lashes on my back, the burn on my chest, the hunger, the fear of almost being raped. It just brought every worst memory back", I reminded him.

"I know I stabbed you and I am guilty of it, but that guilt can't make me crawl back in your arms, Austin", I said clearing the only point I was guilty of so that he would know that unlike him I don't forget the mistakes that I have done.

"If I tell you that I didn't hold her captive, will you believe me?", he asked, his eyes almost pleading me.

"She was locked in a room of your mansion. The place where even a cockroach can't enter without your permission. Besides your past record with me makes it impossible for me to believe that you are incapable of holding a girl captive. And even if I do believe you it can not make the memories of our past all flowers and.. and chocolates", I said

"Did you ever love me, Adria? Just say yes or no", his question dropped on me like a bomb. And all the good time I spent with him flashed in front of my eyes, reminding me again how fucked up my feelings are.

The way we played in the river, me learning different recipes from his mother and him praising them even when they tasted like shit, his tickling me on the bed when I was in a bad mood, us shopping for my wedding gown, all the good memories formed a never-ending train in my mind.

"Yes, I did", the words came out of my mouth without even me realising.

"Verry well", he smiled. "I will wait for you, love. I won't force you into anything cause I don't want to lose you again. I will wait till the day you move on and decide to love someone else. Till then I won't leave you alone, I will try my best to win your heart again", he said and walked out of my car and slammed the door close. I was still processing it again, leaned in and said

"I will make it all flowers and chocolates for you, love".
