Chapter 339 - Not in Your League, Senior

The old man saw the scene before him and froze. He never would have thought that a young maiden could possess a medicinal powder that could neutralize the poison. The crowd in the pergola were stunned silly, and it took them a while to recover. Once they regained their senses, they started screaming in fear and fled in all directions.

The old man did not continue his killing spree, instead gazing dubiously in the direction which Ling Chuxi had escaped to, as if deep in thought. Abruptly, he lunged forward and gave chase. The young men who had carried the palanquin and the young maidens looked at each other in confusion, unable to understand what the old man was up to.

Ling Chuxi was running for her life. She had hinted to Ling Yichen before this that they would split up to escape, and was hoping that they could throw the old man off with their distance first. “Little brat, you seem to have quite a good understanding of poison.” The old man smiled, but it was sinister and dangerous.

“Ahh, that was nothing extraordinary.” Ling Chuxi forced a smile and answered blankly.

“I see. Your potential is not bad. What do you think about becoming my disciple?” The old man said haughtily, looking at her as if he was offering her a big deal.

Ling Chuxi was horrified. ‘What kind of situation is this? Am I doomed to have an ill-fated relationship with the word ‘master’?’ Her journey of becoming a disciple, and taking in her own disciples – none of those experiences were normal. ‘To top it all off, this old fellow who wants me to be his disciple is a total pervert! “How could I possibly be in your league, senior?” The corners of Ling Chuxi’s lips twitched, and she forced herself to smile more sincerely.

“If I say that you are at my league, then you are definitely at it. Come and be my disciple. Kowtow three times before me and you will officially be my disciple.” The old man stroked his beard while glaring at her and spoke to her in a ‘magnanimous’ tone.
