Chapter 374 - The Tragedy of Eating With a Foodie

“Hold on, I did mention that I wanted to treat Miss Ling and the rest of you to a meal,” Li Shaoqiu said quickly, worried he would miss an opportunity of getting close to his idols.

“Master Li, I think we should go back to the posthouse. If anything goes wrong….” The envoy suggested weakly, knowing Li Shaoqiu’s status and not daring to offend him.

“Don’t worry, I will personally send them back to the posthouse after our meal. What trouble would there be?” Li Shaoqiu scoffed dismissively.

The envoy and the two guards next to him wiped away their sweat. This young master of the Li Family! Once a crisis had passed, he would go back to being cocky again. If something really happened and even Ling Chuxi and the rest could not deal with it, it would be even worse if he was with them. He actually had the nerve to talk so much!

Li Shaoqiu looked at Ling Chuxi, his eyes bulging and mouth agape. She clearly had good manners while eating, but how did she move so fast? Both Ling Yichen and Baili Han were eating without showing any mercy too. The most surprising thing, however, was the envoy who was behaving like a reincarnated hungry ghost. The only thing he hadn’t done yet was jump onto the table and snatch the food. Those who knew him would say that he was an envoy of Nan Xia Country, but those who did not know him would have thought that he had just fled from a famine. Nan Xia Country’s reputation was probably questionable now, thanks to him.

Little did he know that earlier on, the envoy had already seen the majestic aura of swallowing mountains and rivers of Ling Chuxi and the rest when they were eating. He knew that if he was just a tad bit slower, he may not even get a chance to drink soup. How could he possibly still retain his manners in a situation like this?

Compared to the envoy, Li Shaoqiu felt that even when Ling Chuxi and the rest were eating, it was like watching clouds float by and rivers flow. It was so pleasing to the eye that it took one’s breath away.

‘An idol will always be an idol. They are so different from the ordinary even when they are eating,’ Li Shaoqiu sighed in his heart.

“Master Li, thank you very much for your hospitality. Don’t be so polite, dig in,” Ling Chuxi elegantly dabbed the corner of her lips and said to Li Shaoqiu with a brilliant smile.

“Oh, sure.” Li Shaoqiu was stunned by Ling Chuxi’s elegance for a while, and nodded enthusiastically. He picked up his chopsticks absently, then realized that in the few seconds he had hesitated, the plates on the table had already been emptied. Li Shaoqiu now understood what had happened to the envoy. If he had a few more meals like this, he reckoned he would not be much better either.
