Chapter 481 - Yet Another Slap

Ling Chuxi could imagine the suspicion and jealousy that everyone in the Su Family felt towards her. Although nobody showed their hostility openly, the looks the other young disciples cast her way were somewhat repulsive. Amongst the young disciples, only Su Xiu’er did not look at her as such. Without a doubt, Su Yizhi’s decision had been a huge blow to their prides. They were the dignified disciples of the Su Family by direct lineage. And yet, they needed an outsider to fight for them.

“Hmph. Is being able to refine the Ambergris Pill such a big deal? If she delays the great matters of Resurrection Hall, let’s see where she will put her face when the time comes.”

“Does she think it’s as simple as having some pill refinement skills? Let’s see how she plans to compete when the time comes for the martial skills competition.” Many soft whispers of this nature drifted in from outside the courtyard, clearly meant to be heard by her.

Ling Chuxi could tell that it was mainly the voice of Su Yanhua. These past few days, Ling Chuxi could see from her observations that his opinion was the greatest amongst the young disciples of the Su Family. Ling Chuxi chuckled. It was just as Su Yizhi said. These descendants of the Su Family had lived in seclusion from the outside world and had developed proud and arrogant faults as a result. Each of them had their eyes placed above the tops of their heads and thought little of other people. What Su Yizhi said was right indeed. It was time for these youngsters to be awakened. It was time to give them a fierce dose of reality.

Ling Chuxi was studying the medical book in her hand with all her heart. The Su Family’s line of medical skills inherited from the Golden Pill Sect differed greatly from what she had learnt previously. If she combined what she had learnt before with the skills featured in the medical book in her hands, Ling Chuxi felt that it would be akin to having an array of martial arts and cultivation methods. But she did not have the secret medical skills of Life Transforming Hall in her hands. She didn’t know what skills they had. And she did not dare to be too certain about how things would turn out.

Ling Chuxi made imaginary points with her fingers and followed along with the methods featured in the medical book to urge her Battle Qi on. There were gleams of Battle Qi that flashed past the tip of her fingers from time to time with varying strengths and at exquisite speeds. As her ability and instinct to control her Battle Qi was originally already very strong, with this medical book, it would be even more improved and make even greater progress. This made Ling Chuxi extremely joyful.

It was at this moment that a set of hurried footsteps rained in from outside the courtyard.

“First Grandfather, First Grandfather! Brother Yanjin has come back!” cried a group of worried young people as they rushed into the courtyard, immersed in worried shouts.

“Big Brother Yanjin!” exclaimed Su Xiu’er who had been practicing her sword skills. She had stopped and went to welcome him cheerfully, but her face changed when she saw the expressions of the others.

Is First Grandfather around?” asked one of the young men worriedly. There were a few other people behind him who were carrying a young man whose breathe seemed to be hanging by a thread.

“First Grandfather is not around. How badly hurt is Big Brother Yanjin?” answered Su Xiu’er as she stepped forward to check on the condition of Su Yanjin’s injuries. After providing guidance to Ling Chuxi that morning, Su Yizhi, Su Yizhen and the rest of the elders had gone out together and had not come back till now.

“I have already sealed his heart and meridians so he should be fine,” said Su Yanhua, showing off under the guise of concern.

“Fine? If you seal his heart and meridians in his current condition, it will be a miracle if he could survive till tomorrow morning,” cut in Ling Chuxi’s voice from behind him. She knew that Su Yanhua and the rest repelled her in their hearts, so she had planned not to get involved initially, but she was unwilling to see a disciple of the Su Family lose his life because of them.

“Bullsh*t! Are you looking down on the Su Family’s Seven Strings Finger Method?!” roared Su Yanhua in rage.

He already felt a repulsion towards Ling Chuxi in his heart. And he had finally found an opportunity with much difficulty to show off his skills. He did not think that he would be given yet another slap the second Ling Chuxi opened her mouth.

The other disciples of the Su Family also glared angrily at Ling Chuxi after hearing Su Yanhua’s outburst. Who asked Su Yanhua to bring in the Su Family’s Seven Strings Finger Method into his words at a time like this?
