10. Sinful Book 1
"Thank you for last night," Aliyah said and grabbed her purse, ready to leave.
"You don't have to thank me, I didn't do anything" I told her, I really didn't, she just talked and I listened, nothing serious there.
"For being my friend and understanding" she said.
"You don't have to thank me for that, just get the fuck out my apartment, I want to sleep" I told her and she laughed, then she left, closing the door behind her.
Thanking God it was a Sunday, I climbed my bed and slept some more.
When I woke up, I had a quick shower, put on a sweatpant and a baggy shirt and found my way to a small cafe not so far from my apartment to have breakfast.
I ordered a cup of coffee and french toast and when the waiter brought my food, I dug in immediately.
"Hey you might want to slow down hun" someone said, I looked up at the source of the voice and it was a very hot guy dressed in an outfit similar to mine, just that, where my shirt was grey, his shirt was blue, holding a cup of coffee and he looked oddly familiar.
"You don't remember me, do you?" He asked and I shook my head.
"You do look oddly familiar though" I told him
"Noah, we met at a restaurant, you were out with your boyfriend and you guys argue and you went outside and I followed you" he explained and it clicked. He was the guy that asked me to go back into the restaurant with him.
"I do remember now, it's been a while, never thought I'd see you again" I told him and he smiled.
"Mind if I join you for breakfast?" He asked and I shook my head.
"Please, help yourself" I told him and he nodded and sat down across from me.
"So, I don't see your boyfriend anywhere?" He said, referring to Antonio, I smiled.
"He's not my boyfriend" I corrected "and he's not here because he's not supposed to be" I added.
"Woah, it sure as hell seemed that way that day at the restaurant though, he was overprotective, that was one of the reasons why I agreed to leave" Noah said, taking a sip of the coffee he held.
He put the coffee down on the table and smiled at me.
"Well, yes, we were out on a date that night but, things didn't work out between us and you know, I decided to let it be" I explained.
"Oh, so, you're free to be mine now?" He asked and I laughed
"No, I'm not" I told him and he smiled.
"I never thought I'd see you again, I thought he'd lock you up in his house since he didn't like the fact that we all had our eyes on you that night" he joked and I smiled.
"He definitely didn't like that" I added and he laughed.
"So, enough about him, what's up with you?" He asked and that, is how I spent three hours at the cafe.
Noah's really a nice guy and he's got good jokes, much to my dismay, he brought up Antonio a few more times but I never gave him the answers he was looking for, I always found a way to divert from the Antonio topic.
We exchanged numbers and left the cafe.
As I walked back home, my phone started to ring. It was Antonio calling, I had a great urge not to pick up but, I don't know, I did.
"Hello?" I said into my phone
"Ca- Sewa" he corrected and the way he pronounced my name almost made me laugh, his accent was something else.
"It's spelled SEWA but pronounced SHEWA, and of course you wouldn't know that because you called me Cara, most of the time" I blasted.
"I didn't call you to fight or argue, I called for business" he said, he sounded so serious, like he was irritated by my outburst.
"I'm listening" I said, rolling my eyes and wishing he could see me roll my eyes at him. Fucking idiot.
"I'm going to send you an address, meet me there right now"he ordered.
How dare this guy? Is he even serious?
"And what cow shit told you that you could order me around?" I asked and he sighed.
"I'm serious" he said
"And I don't care, whatever you want to say, say it right now or forget it" I told him.
"Fuck Cara please, just meet me at the address I'm about to send" he yelled, I could hear the frustration in his voice and honestly, I liked it.
"Okay then, this better be worth my time Mr" I said and hung up.
On cue, my phone chimed and it was a message from Antonio, I'm guessing the address.
Anto's gallery no510 east Landon street,Maddison avenue
I took a deep breath and ordered an Uber, he's just so lucky he called me before I went home, if I was in the comfort of my apartment, I wouldn't even stress myself to go anywhere.
The Uber came in no time and I was on my way to Anto's gallery.
When I got to my destination, It looked empty like there was no one in the gallery.
Why would he tell me to come here when there's no one here?
This better not be a joke.
I did the next best thing, I called him.
"It's quite empty in here" I said and I could hear a faint laugh, he cleared his throat and said he was coming to get me.
"Hey" My body felt him before I heard him, he was behind me.
I turned to him immediately and the sun a gun was shirtless with his jean trousers hanging loosely from his waist, where I could see the 'V' that ran down and disappeared into the jeans, his hair was down and it looked like he ran his fingers through it a hundred thousand times.
Did he call me here to seduce me?
"Did you call me here to seduce me?" I asked him, I needed to know what I was about to get into.
"Is it working?" He asked, his voice, the huskiest I've ever heard it.
YES IT IS, COME AND HAVE ME ANYWAY YOU WANT ME DADDY, I CAN GO ON MY KNEES IF YOU WANT!!!!
"No, No it's not, so why am I here?" I said instead
"Really? Because you're sweating" he noticed! Fuck!
"It must be the coffee I just had with Noah, remember him? That guy from the restaurant the time we went on that date, the one you called a mistake. Remember?" I asked.
The way his face morphed into the nastiest, angriest form I've ever seen is beyond me.
"Yes I do and I'm sure you both had a lovely time" he spat and I smiled.
I feel better when you're angry and sad baby.
I know I'm acting childish but, I can't be blamed here, he's the cause of it; I don't even behave like this on a regular basis, he just brought out this side of me.
"So?" I asked
"I have a contract for you" he said
"A contract? I don't remember talking about any contract with you" I said but he ignored me.
"Follow me" he said and I smiled and followed him, into the unknown.
He led me to a room with only red lights, unfinished pictures hanging from a rope, with the promise of looking great when it's finished.
"Here" he said and dropped a file on a big table. He couldn't even give me hand to hand? He's that annoyed?
I picked up the brown file and took out the clean A4 paper and read the title.
CONTRACT BETWEEN SEWA AND ANTONIO AS FUCK BUDDIES
"Are you kidding me right now?" I let out a short laugh and threw the file back at him.
I can't believe this is the important thing he made me waste my money on.
