29. Sinful Book 1
Although Antonio's new behavior was uncalled for, I somehow understood where he was coming from and I didn't want it to be a problem between us, I mean he was the one who kept saying we could be cool. I grabbed my phone and dialed his number.
"Hey," I said into my phone.
"You're up" was his response. Really, you're up?
"And you're not here" I retorted. I wanted to know why he left without letting me know, I mean he left my house open, what if the person who had been following me around entered into my house to kill me or do whatever he wanted to do.
"Yeah well, I was just sticking to the contract. No strings attached right? Be safe though, I have work to do" Antonio rushed and hung up. Okay, Antonio was taking his anger a little too far, but he was right, sticking to the contract would be better for us; I mean I was the advocate for sticking to the contract and there I was, looking for attention.
I dragged my lazy ass to the bathroom, had a long ass bath and went to the kitchen to cook Jollof rice and turkey. When I was done cooking, I heard a knock at my door. I panicked immediately as my mind reminded me that there was someone after me. Did he finally figure out where I live and came to kill me in my house and make it look like an accident?
"Antonio, could you help me get the door?" I yelled if it was the stalker, he'd figure out I was with someone and leave.
"Fine, I'll get it myself" I yelled out again. What I was doing was dumb but it could save me. I imagined it was Antonio at the door, if he was, I'm pretty sure he would laugh at me so hard.
I took in a deep breath, grabbed a wooden spatula and made my way to the door.
"Hey, so Anto's here" a smiling Aliyah said to me. I let out a sigh of relief and hugged her immediately.
"You have no idea how much you scared me" I told her.
"I'm sorry, but a wooden spatula?" She asked and I laughed. I let her in and closed the door behind her.
"What's up? I was scared for you last night" she smiled soothingly at me.
"Someone's following me" I told her.
"Following like stalking?" She asked and I nodded, Aliyah had her eyes wide open, she looked scared.
"Well did you tell Antonio about it?" She asked and I shook my head.
"Wait let me guess, y'all are fighting?" She asked and I laughed.
"Well sort of, he's angry with me. He did come get me yesterday, and he slept over, but before I woke up, he was gone. I called him but he said he was busy so I didn't tell him, I figured out he wouldn't care so, there was no point" I explained.
"Do you even hear yourself? He wouldn't care but yet he came to get you yesterday and he slept over, that man cares about you so much, he just has a shitty way of showing it" she said and I gave a small smile. Antonio was confusing, he was like a hard subject, so hard to figure out; when you think you have him, she switches up and becomes something else.
"Well, I know, and I'm thankful that he came to get me, but his nonchalant attitude just doesn't do it for me" I told her. She took off the coat she was wearing and walked to the kitchen, coming out with a plate of food.
"Smells good, tastes heavenly" she said with a stuffed mouth.
"What did you do to him?" She asked me and I explained everything that happened with Noah.
"His ego was hurt, of course he'd behave like that" she said and I laughed.
"Well, just give him time, he'll come around. You of all people should know that" she said and I smiled at her, nodding my head because it was true, Antonio was going to come around.
"So, you and Harry? I honestly thought y'all broke up" I told her.
"We went on a break, but we got back yesterday, the man is just too sweet and good for me" she squealed and I smiled at her.
"We went on a road trip and it was perfect. I really, really like him. Like where had he been all my life?" She asked and I bursted into laughter.
"At least one of us have a great love life" I joked and she stopped laughing.
"I'm sure you'll work something out with Antonio" she tried to comfort me.
"Who's talking about Antonio?" I asked her and she paused, looking at me like I just grew a tail.
"Ouuu, who's the new guy?" she asked and I shook my head.
"There's no new guy yet, but soon" I told her and she nodded her head.
I put on a movie and we watched while eating. Antonio had told me countless times that he wasn't the dating type, and someone like him wouldn't compromise his freedom for me, right from the start, I knew the contract was the only thing we had, and even though Antonio kept doing something and saying some things like he liked me, I knew it was all part of his game. It was why girls kept coming back to him after their contract ended, he tied them emotionally like he was trying to tie me emotionally too, but I was strong, I had to be strong for myself, because I knew what it was. We were bound to grow tired of each other and end the contract, and when that happens, I would be ready.
I would find someone who would genuinely like me and want to be with me all time, someone who would worship my body and come to save me when I was feeling troubled, someone who wouldn't care about anything else but me.
