An awful person
Alana reached the company earlier than the first day before Ricardo could show up
"Good morning love…did you sleep well," Brigitte greeted her as they proceeded to the check room.
"Yeah, how about You?" Alana asked although she had a terrible morning. To think she was still troubled about Ricardo's stipulations. She failed to sign the contract unless he uttered it and made a few changes
"Well, great as always… today is special though, I hope you are ready?" Brigitte asked as both picked up their ID'S and left the room
"What is it?" She was new to the company. Already she had a quick orientation and knew a few departments and heads. However, she was yet to know more about it. Especially where all the merchandise was made
"Every month end, the boss throws a small party for his employees…especially new ones… it's to welcome them to the company and team, so today we'll hear what plans he has for us " Brigitte explained as they headed to the canteen to grab some breakfast. Like yesterday she didn't have any breakfast
"I don't think I'll be attending," Alana said while sipping on her hot cocoa with some snacks.
"It's mandatory, and this time it's special because we get to meet the boss's wife…hehe isn't it great…all the departments are kinda thrilled," Brigitte said in between mischievous chuckles, Alana was even more alert
"I have some…well a lot of things to do, and I'm not a party person," she said, shaking her head and eating more snacks. She wasn't going to lie, she was better off as a miss then Mrs Brigitte frowned and gulped down more coffee. For a beautiful woman, Alana was surprised Brigitte loved black coffee without sugar
"Well, if the boss allows you, but what do you know," she said with a shrug and both ate their meal silently. Alana glanced around and loved the atmosphere, it was clean and neat. The waiters and waitresses were kind people, and the food was great. She saw as employees started flooding the place. It seemed many chose to come for a quick breakfast
"So…are you married or…"
"Single, I'm single and not searching," surprisingly, Brigitte answered her right away. There was some coldness to her tone which Alana detected. Mainly because she was sensitive and could read people easily
"That's nice…" Alana started but was interrupted by someone slamming the file on the table startling them both
"Good morning, Bri, here deliver this to Mr Suarez. It's urgent," Ave said and pulled out an empty chair and sat day
"Hey," Alana exclaimed when Eva took her cocoa and gulped it down
"Eva, just take them. I don't have time," Brigitte refused and shoved the file away,
"Look here, it's your job…please take these files to Mr Suarez before afternoon… I was told it's urgent, if you don't like the idea…tell the boss," Eva said and grabbed the plate of snacks and started munching on them. Alana saw how troubled Brigitte looked.
After they concluded with breakfast, Alana and Brigitte went back to work.
"Alana, can you do me a favor… please come with me…I know you'll be busy, but this once," Brigitte said pleading with her eyes, Alana smiled and nodded
"No problem, just alert me when it's time," she replied and Brigitte hugged her immediately. With that, Alana went back to her station. It seemed Brigitte was afraid of delivering those files to the person.
"Sir, our marketing department is ready, as usual, the team came up with a new strategy," the man she was told was the general manager said while showing Ricardo some documents. Alana stood to the sides and listened as the two men discussed their work. After seeing off Brigitte, she was called to the boss's office
"The ads, everything is ready… I asked my PA to deliver some files to Mr Suarez, I thought we could use him for perfection," the GM added and all Ricardo did was nod lightly, Alana didn't utter a word but listened as the two men discussed their work. One thing she noticed was some flaws in their marketing strategy, although Alana saw that. She chose to keep her mouth shut, this wasn't her work
"Great, I'm sure he'll be there to work, with us" Ricardo said when their meeting concluded,
"Thank you, have a great day," just like that, the GM said his goodbye and left the office. It was awfully quiet, Alana noticed Dennis was not around. Hence she took advantage and brought out the contract and slammed it on the table
"Mr Romero, I think your contract has flaws… I couldn't sign it," she simply said and stood in front of him, there was a pin-drop silence in the room when Ricardo pushed his chair backwards and crossed his leg over the other. His eyes were fixed on Alana
"Ms Mendoza, kindly write your contract, I can assure you… I want every word in this to followed," the man said pointing his index finger at the file, Alana was troubled by him. The way he carried himself like some god made her angry
"And I can assure you, I'm not as loose as you think.. kindly rephrase that, if not… this Agreement won't be signed," she said boldly giving nothing away, her stern expression had Ricardo frowning
"My house, my rules… if you feel you can't manage, then look for an apartment somewhere else… I'll pay," the man said something she wasn't expecting and waved her off, such rudeness..who did he think he was
"I hate him, I hate him…how dare he," Alana muttered as she angrily walked down the corridors hating the existence of Ricardo. She had never met a man like him
"He thinks the world revolves around him…such a good for nothing…" she continued saying when she bumped into someone. Luckily both of them were alright
"Hey, what's gotten you all cranky?" Brigitte asked while massaging her forehead. Alana frowned and massaged her forehead as well
"Nothing, just some jerk giving me a hard time," she said nonchalantly and Brigitte's eyes widened in awe
"No, no, well… I received a phone call on my way here…apparently, someone was asking me about deliveries I don't know," Alana said defensively before Brigitte could think she was bad-mouthing the boss
"Ignore them, and yes…it's time to go… I hope you are done," Brigitte said and started dragging them away before Alana could say anything
Luckily she was done, Ricardo was going to be busy with Dennis later on until the afternoon, and by then she'd be back
"So, this Mr Suarez…is he an awful person," Alana asked when they boarded Brigitte's car and left the place, it was a sunny and quiet afternoon. Alana loved the cool breeze accompanying the scorching sun
"He's awful, rude and disgusting… I hate him…he's the worst and someone you should hate too… I can't stand his face," Brigitte went on and said all the bad things the man was. Alana was surprised how someone would have so many bad qualities. What surprised her was how Brigitte hated the man
After five minutes they arrived, it was just around the corner, the building was nothing special
"Here, please take them in… just give him and come back," Brigitte said handing the files to Alana, with narrowed eyes Alan stepped away from her
"You said he's awful, I don't know him and…"
"That's the idea if he doesn't know you… he won't be such a jerk," Brigitte cut her off and shoved the files right in her hands. Alana was even more afraid
"But, what if he…Bri just take them or both of us," she already outlined the man's personality as terrible and a jerk, who could have such bad qualities and surpass Ricardo's own
"Sweetie, I hate his face…I hate his voice… I hate his existence… you are kind I'm sure he won't do anything," Brigitte said disdainfully and pushed her towards the entrance of the building. Alana was left with no choice but to deliver, the files on her behalf
"Welcome miss, please proceed down the hall, Mr Suarez is in his workshop," the one at the reception said, guiding Alana down the hallway. What did she mean by workshop when it was a normal building? But Alana exhaled a little and followed her direction and eventually arrived at her destination. A pair of white-painted closed doors
Alana was about to knock when she heard groans coming from inside
"Yes baby, that's it, take it in…oh baby, you're so hot…so sexy…" a voice of a man grunting and groaning, Alana swallowed hard as she turned away from the door blinking awkwardly. Brigitte was right, the man was an awful person with no shame.
