Teasing Ricardo
Ricardo struggled to wake up due to a hangover. He wrapped himself in the duvet, waves of nausea adding to his misery. His phone pinged with message after message, getting up was the issue. One of the reasons he hated drinking liquor. The aftermath was terrible. As he shifted to get his phone with his head still buried under a pillow
Ricardo only grasped a little of it, and it slipped through his fingers and landed heavily on the floor
“Damn it,” he muttered and shoved the pillow off his head and slowly sat upright. His brain felt like it would swell beyond the capacity of his skull, and now his dehydration was too obvious to ignore. Again his stomach lurched and gurgled. Perhaps some painkillers would help too. He raised his heavy eyelids halfway, only for them to fall shut. He raised them again and swung his bare feet to the carpet again. It was cold underfoot, glancing at himself, his eyes narrowed into slits, seeing that he was only in boxes
“Great,” he muttered and pushed himself off the bed. Once he was on his feet the room swayed almost causing him to lose balance, and he reached out for the wall. His hand slipped along the high-sheen paint, and he sprawled onto the carpet with a crashing thump. The room swirled before becoming stationary again, and he used the bedstead to pull himself to standing. This feeling meant he'd had some fun the night before, but somehow it wasn't there in his memory.
“T-you should drink this,” he heard a familiar voice when he realized he wasn't alone in the room. Opening his eyes fully, he found his wife already dressed in her office wear and standing before him
“It's lemon water… it will help with your hangover,” she added, shoving the glass cup in his hand. Alana felt a little shy seeing him, she would as well as fled the scene a long time ago, but she didn't find the reason
“Thanks,” Ricardo muttered hesitantly and turned away, he took a sip of the sour water, nearly gagging at the horrible taste. But he forced the damned liquid down his throat
“What happened?” He asked as he drank more, this time the taste was less unpleasant. Glanced at his wife and she seemed hesitant. Of course, Alana was hesitant if he didn't remember what happened. How was she to remember,
“Um, you…you had too much to drink…” she stammered the reply and quickly picked up some towels from the floor and hurried to the cupboard. Ricardo's eyes narrowed as he fixed them on the glass in his hand. He didn't drink much, how did he get so drunk?
“Actually. I'm on my way to take Santi to school…and someone is waiting for you in the study…he said it's urgent,” Alana remarked once she put the towels away. Her heart was racing in relief, Ricardo didn't remember how they got here. What exactly happened, all she recalled was being at the party. In the room changing her dress, he came to help her. Why on earth did he come? She recalled how she kissed him. Something so intimate,
“No need, I'll take him,” Ricardo muttered and placed the glass on the table
“I guess not, it will take time for you to get ready, and well, you have visitors,” Alana said, fiddling with her hands. Ricardo picked up his shirt and wore it. Whoever kept calling him didn't stop.
“Sure,” saying that, he put on some pants and headed to the bathroom. Alana scanned the room, good thing she got rid of the beer bottles. Did they drink, she would ask Mrs. Marks later? Or Dennis.
Later she left for the office, Ricardo came out of the bathroom and found someone knocking at his door. He opened it, and it was one of the servants
“S-sir… someone is waiting for you in the study,” the girl said, lowering her head when she saw her boss. Her cheeks puffed with hot air, making them turn red as a rush of shyness erupted in her core. Ricardo saw through her behavior, but he had no time for that. He nodded and left from there. This meant he had to be late for the office.
As soon as he reached downstairs, he went straight to the study. Walked in and found the man he wasn't expecting already seated and busy sipping on some wine
“I should have known…tell me, to what, do I owe this visit,” Ricardo asked lazily as he walked to the desk
“Hehehe, good morning man… I see you had a great night,” the person was none other than Julien. He chuckled as he placed the wine glass on the desk and shifted in his seat. Ricardo arched his brows and sat down.
“Don't tell me you came to finish my wine?” He asked sarcastically and Julien laughed even more
“What can I say… Everything Ricardo has, tastes unique" Julien commented; however, his words didn't do much for Ricardo who frowned even more
“What do you mean?” He asked sounding irritated and unhappy, Julien chuckled and muffled his mouth before taking out his phone
“You must have had a wild night… hehehe, too good man, too good,” Julien couldn't resist laughing as he raised his phone midair and clicked a picture of Ricardo glaring at him.
“Did you come here for jokes huh” Ricardo was furious? He was trying hard to remember how he came home and ended up in bed half naked and Julien was being a pain in the neck
“Damn, I like this picture…so adorable…want to see it or should I give you a mirror instead,” Julien grinned and teased to show Ricardo the picture he took. Ricardo knew Julien was up to something. Shortly, there was a knock and Dennis walked in
“Good morning sir I…” Dennis said as soon as he walked in and looked at his boss, but soon came to a halt as his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. He muffled his mouth with his hand and lowered his gaze. Ricardo was starting to get pissed off. First, it was his wife, then his servants, then Julien and now his assistant
“Dennis, does your boss look cute in the morning…ah, such beauty. I should get married too,” Julien said with a mischievous smirk and stretched his arms playfully. Ricardo was irritated, especially when Dennis was laughing too
“Do you want to be fired,” Ricardo growled at Dennis when Julien handed him his phone. Ricardo's soul fled his body once his eyes fell on the glowing screen. He panicked as he touched his face and forehead. His neck area and his lips
“Hehehe, someone marked her territory…hahaha romantic, so romantic… My party was a success,” Julien said cheerfully and raised his glass in the air and gulped down the liquid. Ricardo's hands clenched around the phone tightly. How did he get lipstick marks on his face and neck area? He washed his face in the bathroom. Thinking about this, he recalled not looking in the mirror
“Are you done…or should I leave room for you two to laugh like animals,” he slammed his hand on the desk and Dennis shut his mouth while Julien laughed even more
“Anyway, it's fun… you are my favorite couple,” Julien remarked and turned serious, Dennis walked to his boss and handed him a file
“Your culprit is found… Rocco is the one buying the merchandise,” Julien said while pointing at the file, Ricardo's blood boiled hearing that
“He's buying all of it, I'm afraid you have to fish out your source…” Julien said while Ricardo perused through the file
“That son of a bitch,” Ricardo muttered and slammed the file shut. Rocco was trying hard to provoke him
“And well, be careful… He seems to have his eyes on your latest treasure. I'm saying this because you are my favorite,” Julien grinned only for Ricardo to roll his eyes in annoyance,
“What happened last night…what did you put in my drink?” Ricardo asked straight, his eyes stern and unfriendly “Dennis, explain,” Ricardo remarked sternly, Dennis was nervous, and sweat broke on his forehead.
“He can't explain…he-he, my little gift worked too well… you're glowing Ricky….ah, to know you had it makes me feel…worthy,” Julien said dramatically and heard him. Ricardo froze, he didn't think he crossed the line. No, he would never cross the line, no matter how intoxicated he was. If he did, then, what exactly was that woman thinking? Was this the reason Alana was failing to look him in the eyes and acting all shy?
