Not the same
”My! Look at you!” Zoey squealed, scanning me from head to toe.
My cheeks flushed standing in front of her full body sized mirror. She made me wear her heels and some of her what she calls ‘go-see’ clothes.
”My clothes are still a bit loose because of your tiny frame. You want to shop for clothes?” she casually asked.
I harshly shook my head in disapproval. “No. I think I have a pair of jeans at home and this top. I need to borrow your heels though.” I said.
”Oh, you can just have those. I still have a lot in my closet.” she winked.
And that’s how the new chapter of my life goes. The next few days are like a gasp of breath. The end of our first year is almost coming to an end. We both focused on our studies first before going on into our plans.
”Yes, I’ll be going home early today. We just have a few subjects to take.” I said to the other line.
Aciel called me. I wasn’t replying to his messages because I’m kind of busy reviewing my subjects. And now here he is.
”Hmmm,” I can imagine his handsome face with that single tone. “Alright. I guess you’ll be waiting for me then I’m sorry for being clingy as fuck. I can’t help it.”
I hid my smile because Zoey is eyeing me with her hawk-like eyes. Aciel and I ended the call right away. Since he’s busy in Evans’ as well. I just told him that I’ll be waiting for him for dinner. He said he’ll cook for us.
That’s how my life goes. For the next few days, we became busy with our clearance and other requirements.
”Alia, did you buy the thing I told you?” Zoey asked me while we’re at the admin office.
”Yeah.” I answered.
”Great!”
She was talking about this stuff from this model thingy. As usual, she again invited me to come into her house. She wants me to continue practicing with her as well and that includes having some bond with her. Last time, we invited Lulu.
”Yes! That’s it. You have to look for the right angle of your face. When you’re modeling, you have to have your own rhythm as well. It’s not just about posing and cameras.”
Zoey is indeed a great help. I really can’t believe that I’m taking this path now. Like, this is so out of my mind. Maybe that’s how life works?
”You can go ahead. I’ll just change.” she said and went into her walk in closet.
So as she said, I went out of her room so I could go ahead to their patio and continue our chit-chat there. When I reached the end of their grand staircase, I almost screamed when somebody grabbed me by the arm.
”What the hell, Angelo?”
It’s been so long since the last time I saw him. He looks a bit miserable now. The first time I saw him he’s undeniably handsome with his soft features. So looking at him now kind of hurts me because, God! Why in the hell would a man be like this?
“You knew it all. You knew it all now. Why are you still with him?”
My jaw dropped. I hissed and shrugged my arms harshly.
”Let go of me!” I whispered loudly, afraid that somebody might hear us.
”No, I won’t. Just fucking tell me first how you managed to stay with that asshole after knowing it all?”
I gritted my teeth and fought back his harsh stares. “You wanna know why? The answer is simple, Angelo. It’s because I chose my peace more than anything else. I would rather suffer today than suffer from the past that doesn’t even concern my life now.”
He couldn’t answer. He just stared at me without changing his expression.
”So you,” I removed my hand to his hold. “Better grow the fuck up and forgive.”
His eyes are bloodshot. He blinked a few times. His long hair covered his eyes like he intended to do that as well. I felt guilty.
”I don’t know your reasons and your past, Angelo. Yes we are not the same, maybe your reasons are way more bigger than mine and mine might be bigger than yours but we both have one thing in common. We’ve been hurt, Angelo.” I explained humbly.
I brought my hands to his shoulders to pat him.
”I’ve been hurt too. But I chose to forgive. Look at me now, did it cause me no good? Angelo…” I shifted to my place. “I understand you the most. I understand you.”
He’s bowing down so I can’t really see his face. But I saw how his jaw moved when I uttered the last words. After that he removed my hands that’s on his shoulder. He looked at me with blank eyes and I didn’t know how to react to that.
”We are not the same. We are never the same.”
My eyes shook a little while looking at him. He smirked and that almost gave me goosebumps.
”Now that you’ve turned into a complete angel. I think it’s about time for you to do some good deeds. You know? To personally thank your savior. Aciel?” he mocked.
I kept my straight face. I realized that in this world, some people are just too cold hearted to exist. Some can forgive and some can not. And for me, all I can give them is my pity.
”Get straight to the point. What the hell are you saying?” I said coldly.
His lips protruded and he cocked his head. He even inserted his hands into his ragged pockets.
”You’re not the only one who understands me, Alia. It was nice meeting your father. I actually had a good time.”
My eyes immediately widened in fraction. I couldn’t perfectly tell if he’s actually bluffing now or what.
”W-what?”
He shrugged. “You heard me. I guess… you want to meet him as well?”
I gritted my teeth hard. “Where is he?”
He smirked and his pale face almost had colors when he heard me. He even held his lips to stop his laughter like he just heard a joke from me. He looks like a complete crazy man to me.
”I said where is he?” I demanded, more impatient now.
”Looks like the little devil is mad now.”
