Stevens P.O.V.

I waited impatiently in the hall for my beautiful mate. I could feel that she doesn't really like being around people at all, but today had to happen. She only had to show up here briefly anyway and stay for about an hour. Then I would kidnap her and spend a romantic evening with her.

I've already planned everything. First I want to dance with her. Then I kidnap her and we go to the lake where I have already set up a table and candles. We can then romantically eat our dinner at this table.

The alpha is in the know and has told the pack cooks that they should bring us our food. I was really looking forward to it. Who knows what will happen later in the evening? Maybe she can be tagged by me? But of course I'm a gentleman and I'll wait until she's ready.

I didn't have to wait long before Aurelia entered the room in a short, wide-cut, baby-blue dress. Knowing that she would come with my mate, I got ready to receive Silva. What will she look like? No matter what, I would always find her beautiful. Nevertheless, I was especially happy to see her today.

Aurelia had already run down the stairs leading to the hall and was intercepted by Arsen, but my mate still didn't enter. Maybe she doesn't dare? So I started to get her, but Arsen grabbed my arm and stopped me.

"She will be here soon. Give her some time," he said. He was right. She was a strong wolf. I just had to give her a few minutes to collect herself. And then she doesn't have to be here long, then I'll take her out of here go away Why was I so nervous?

"By the way, she looks beautiful." Aurelia enthused, which only made me even more curious. I wanted to run out to her immediately and call off this stupid meeting with the pack to spend alone time with my mate. She belonged alone to me, I wanted to enjoy the sight of her all alone.

When Aurelia noticed my longing look, she started to laugh. But a short time later she stopped and groaned in pain. When I then looked at her, I noticed the puddle under her. What happened now?

"Are you alright?" I asked. But my question was immediately drowned out by Arsens.

"Are you all right? Do you feel any pain? Is the baby coming?" he asked his mate. Aurelia nodded at the last question and Arsen picked her up and carried her out of the room, followed closely by me. As her best friend, I finally wanted to support her. That was it first time I saw a woman going into labour. While it was funny how nervous the father-to-be seemed, I was also a little worried about my best friend. She was clearly in pain. Luckily we men don't have to go through that , but I guess seeing his mate suffer isn't much better either.

"Steven? Can you go to the children and stay with them? You should be in the common room. A nanny is looking after her." Arsen asked me as we left the room.

I immediately nodded and made my way to the pack house. Aurelia was going to have a baby now and I wanted to support her as much as I could.

Once inside the packhouse, I found the future Alpha in the common room with what Arsen said was his younger brother. A younger she-wolf, I estimate her to be 16, took care of her and other children along with another older lady.

"Hello Steven," little Arian greeted me as soon as I entered the room. "Where's Mommy and Daddy?"

A bit taken aback as to what to say, I stuttered, trying to find the words, "So...um...Mommy and Daddy...they must have told you you were having a new sibling, right?" It was not at all easy to explain to children that the stork was just coming.

"Yeah, why?" he asked a bit confused.

"Well...Now it's time." I didn't need to explain any more because suddenly the young nanny let out a squeak and jumped around the room with glee, while the older one smirked at it.

Arian suddenly beamed all over his face. So his parents had already enlightened him in a certain way.

It had only been an hour when I suddenly heard my alpha's voice through the pack mindlink: "Felia Lily Storm was born healthy a few minutes ago," he announced the message to all pack members.

The message was nice to hear. Even through the mindlink, the Pride in Arsenic voice could be heard. But something else caught my eye, because the name Lily was immediately familiar to me. After a moment's thought, I knew why. Lily had been Aurelia's mother's name.

"Steven? Can you bring the boys over?" the alpha asked directly to me this time.

"Of course arsenic ," I replied and then took little Steven in my arms and wanted to take Arian's hand, but he just gave me an angry look after my unsuccessful attempt.

"I'm a big boy," he said proudly, walking in front of me towards the hospital.

Arriving at the hospital, a nurse led us directly to the room where Aurelia is now, which I also entered after knocking softly.

"MOMMY, DADDY!" the future alpha called out and only got a 'Shhh' from his father. When I looked around the room, I knew why.

Aurelia was exhausted and sweaty in bed and slept. Arsen stood by with the little girl in his arms who seemed to be sleeping peacefully.

"May I see her?" Arian asked in a whisper this time, whereupon the alpha nodded and crouched down so that his son could catch a glimpse of the sleeping girl. "She's still so small.", he enthused and looked at his little sister in love with. It was really cute how the little boy was fascinated by his little sister.

Arsen smiled and then gave me a grateful nod. Little Steven, who I was still carrying in my arms, I put down on the ground. He, too, moved towards his father with still unsteady steps. It looked like he had only recently learned to walk.

"Me too," he said, then grabbed onto his older brother to keep him from falling.

Arsen and I were chuckling about this cute situation until Arsen suddenly brought me back to freezing reality. "I'm sorry your date fell through because of that."

And then I remembered something very important. Something I should never have forgotten. my mate

I immediately broke out of laughter and got up from my still-kneeling position to run out of the room like stung by a tarantula. I didn't care that I was leaving Arsen so confused now. I had to see my mate. Why didn't I get the idea earlier that she wasn't with me at all? Silva. How could I forget my own mate? What a bad companion I am. Ever since I met her, she's been the only thing on my mind, and now? Now I was so stupid and completely forgot about her. How could this happen to me? Hopefully she isn't too mad and is having a good time at the party. Or maybe she's already asleep?

I sprinted to our room, casually trying to reach her on the mindlink. But she just didn't answer. There are only three explanations for this. Either she doesn't want to talk to me, she's out of range, or she's passed out. I didn't like the last two versions at all. In the scenarios I imagined, I preferred that she be mad at me.

"Come on Silva! Where are you?" Nevertheless, I kept trying to reach her. I ran to the hall, but she wasn't there either. But when I stepped out of the dance hall again, I could smell her scent. Thank God she was still there Vicinity.

Finally a ray of light. So I followed her, but a few minutes later it was mixed with blood. with her blood. I was already imagining the worst in my head. Now I was even more concerned...

To make the situation even worse, it also started to rain. I immediately transformed to follow her trail and find her as quickly as possible, but it wasn't long before she was completely drowned out by the smell of the forest. Silva, where are you?

"SILVA??!!" I yelled loudly through the mindlink again, hoping she would leap out from behind the next tree, but of course she didn't. She's gone and it's all my fault.
