Silva's POV
Devin's new pack house, which was still partially under construction, wasn't exactly pretty to look at. It is more reminiscent of a cold fortress and the stone walls around it only support this impression even more. How can you feel comfortable in it? I mean, this guy wants to raise his kids here after all.
Just thinking about the fact that he wants me to be the mother of these children makes me shudder. But what can I do now? He just tagged me, but Steven is my mate.
I still have hope that he'll get me out of here, but then what? He'll hate me once he finds out about the marker, and then maybe he'll leave me here after all...
God, what am I supposed to do??? It's all desperate and I really don't know what to do anymore.
"Hey princess, how about a little trip?" The guy can save himself this 'princess' alone. I'm not his princess and never will be.
"Don't feel like it," I said, annoyed. I sat here in Devin's room and looked out at the new pack house that hasn't been completed yet. I'll never move in there. The hunters with this hut have more taste, even if the wolf heads and skins are rather creepy and disturbing as decoration. It's like people hanging other people on the walls as decoration. Who does that?
"You do know your plan sucks, right?" I asked Devin without turning to face him. I mean even if he manages to take over the other packs with the help of our kids or whatever he plans to do, then it is "He's already very old. Besides, whoever says that we only get boys. Maybe there will be girls too, and they usually can't become alphas.
"What do you dislike about that?" I heard Devin start laughing briefly. Then I felt his breath on the back of my neck, so I turned to him and took a few steps back to put some distance between us.
"He just sucks," was all I answered. Who knows, if I explain the weak points of his plan to him now, he'll polish them later. And I certainly don't want that.
"You are sweet. You know that?" He grinned stupidly at me, wiping out the distance I'd put between us.
"Let me. I'll never have children with you." Right after that statement, I felt a burning sensation in my cheek. He hit me? Great start to a 'marriage.' Consider the irony.
"You will see. The full moon is in two weeks. Let's see which wolf is begging me to finally fuck her..." he said with anger and amusement in his voice at the same time. He stood menacingly in front of me and looked at me with an indefinable look. Then he roughly grabbed my upper arm and tugged me out of the room. "I have something to show you," he said, pulling me down stairs that appeared to lead to the basement.
Alarm bells went off for me immediately. What does he want with me in the basement? Does he want to lock me up again or worse? torturing me?
Well and what showed up in the basement was anything but pretty. To the left and right of the corridor were fat steel doors and next to them was always a glass window through which one could look into the rooms. The first rooms looked very much like laboratories, then suddenly you saw rooms that looked like cells. At first I thought he was going to lock me in one of those cells, but then I took a closer look at the contents of those cells.
In these cells were people. No, they were other supernatural beings. Wait... are these test objects? I hope that's not the case, because if so, then these hunters and Devin are even sicker than I thought.
I could see all sorts of creatures. Werewolves, vampires... they even have a dragon. Are they all crazy? I mean a damn dragon? I didn't even know they even existed.
Suddenly Devin stopped in front of me, so that I ran into him through the distraction in the cells. Great, now I was too close to him again.
"Say if you want to cuddle." He said amused and pulled me a little closer to him.
"Haha," I replied annoyed and immediately broke his hold. Then I looked at the cell in front of which we stopped.
In this cell sat a woman who I would estimate to be in her mid-thirties. She had long dark brown hair, green eyes and her skin looked pale and clean. She was really beautiful, but I'd guess she's a vampire.
"Who is that?" I asked Devin since I couldn't make sense of the situation. Why was he showing me a vampire now. As if I'd never seen a vampire before.
"That, Princess, is Moona. She looks like a vampire right?" he gave me in response to my question.
To answer his rhetorical question, I just nodded.
“Well, she's a vampire too. However, she is also part werewolf, like us. She's a hybrid." He continued. Shocked by this fact, I turned to Devin. I wanted to ask how that could be, but he seemed to already read my question from my lips and continued. "You certainly know that a vampire bite is usually venomous to wolves, since that's how they mostly deliver their vampire venom, just like a wolf bite is deadly to vampires.Well, dearest Moona came to the hunters as a test subject 15 years ago.Evolved around that time one of the researchers of the hunters came up with a way to prevent werewolves from dying from vampire poison. Unfortunately, I couldn't have had this idea yet because I was only 10 years old and traveled through world history with my parents." Devin paused in speaking and sighed, sounding like he was sorry he didn't come up with such an idea. But it was just sick and against the natural order. Something like hybrids simply shouldn't exist.
"Anyway, they were able to administer vampire venom to werewolves, thereby transforming them into hybrids. And now guess who's about to be made a hybrid too?"
Shocked by this information, I took a few steps away from Devin and now stood with my back to the glass. Whatever the hunters are breeding down here shouldn't exist. The moon goddess deliberately made vampires and werewolves enemies because together they would just be deadly to the entire earth. Can't imagine what Devin would do once he's a 'hybrid'. I have to be able to stop him... Somehow...
"Y-you?" I stuttered, trying to answer his question.
"Unfortunately only partially correct." Confused about what he could mean, I looked at him. "You forgot yourself as my wife." Devin gave me one of his smiles, which I found rather creepy. Then I realized what he just said. He wants to make me one of those monsters too? Never.
I shook my head violently when suddenly there was a loud bang behind me. Startled, I jumped away from the pane and turned to her.
The woman from the cell jumped against it and looks at me with bloodthirsty eyes. Her eyes are no longer chocolate brown, but black with crimson rims. In addition, their long fangs are extended, whereby the fangs of a wolf could also be seen.
"It's not natural," I whispered softly. I can never in my life let Devin create more of those monsters. And I would never in my life become such a thing.
