###Chapter 176 He's In Pain But So What
I was not settled with my circumstance. I was not satisfied with my dying like this. I did not want to leave this world without an explanation.
Seeing that I was regretting, he sighed, put my arms under the blanket, and said, "Don't be silly again. There's still a long way to go. You can walk slowly."
I nodded and stared at the ceiling for a long time while in a daze. How could I not have the courage to bump into Jordan?
I fell asleep again and woke up late that night.
The people who were supposed to meet on the road of death were looking at each other in the ward.
Jordan was still dressed in a black suit as usual. Probably because of the high air-conditioning temperature in the ward, he took off his coat, showing the white shirt which was pressed neatly and meticulously.
"She's awake!" He came forward and his eyes fell on me, reflecting a vague light.
I closed my eyes for I didn't want to see him.
He continued, "Is there anything wrong, Ivelle?"
I didn't speak. I have no desire to speak.
"Would you like some water?"
I frowned because of the dull pain in the back of my hand. I have received too many transfusions in the past two months. I have been lying on the bed for such a long time already.
It couldn't help anyway.
I felt annoyed by the person in front of me.
My body was steadily lifted and I frowned. I opened my eyes and saw Jordan's handsome face enlarged.
A cup of warm water was placed in front of me, and I decided to stare at it. I didn't react for a minute. It took me so much energy and effort to lift my infused hand to get it.
I held the cup in my hand which was honestly a little difficult. There was blood reflux in the infusion tube on the back of my hand. Jordan looked at me, and his deep eyes were full of pain.
I squinted, and the cup in my hand fell unexpectedly. With a dull sound, the cup fell to the ground and the glass broke all over the floor.
The atmosphere in the air was so concerning that I smiled and said, "Sorry, it wasn't intentional."
Although it was an apology, I looked at him indifferently. If my eyes were cold, I didn't feel guilty at all.
He raised his eyebrows and his voice was stiff and cold. "It doesn't matter. It's alright." He squatted down to picked up the fragments on the ground.
Perhaps it was too quiet in the air, that's why he asked, "Do you want some more? I'll get you another drink!"
I lowered my eyes and looked at his slightly trembling hand. The chills in my heart grew stronger.
"Did you see that he was suffocated alive?" I knew that with Liam's character, he will let Jordan see that video.
From the moment he appeared just now, I saw his determined patience and repressed pain.
Although he had already cried, it still had nothing to do with me. I just needed to know that he was in pain.
Jordan picked up the debris with a hand. His body was stiff, and he slowly looked up at me.
Looking at each other, I mocked and said, "You always think that you will die happy with a knife, or that you will be suffocated bit by bit slowly, right?"
He was silent, and the pain in his black eyes became obvious once again.
I was bored to see that he didn't reply. I raised my hand and pulled the needle out of the back of my hand.
After pulling it abruptly, the blood-spattered out and fell on the white cup. My blood looked particularly vivid against the white canvas.
Lifting my feet to the ground, I stepped on the ground barefoot. I knew there were pieces of glass on the ground, but I had no intention of avoiding it.
I stepped on it without any hesitation, and when the sole of my foot fell on the back of Jordan's hand, blood spilled from the palm of his hand. Did it hurt? I didn't care.
I didn't want to know.
All I remember that night was that when I clung to the broken glass over and over again and desperately tried to cut the rope that was tying my child's face, the broken glass pierced my palm again and again, and the blood wet the rope. Even so, I still couldn't save my child.
I slowly bowed my head, and my eyes fell on Jordan's face whitened by the excruciating pain. I smiled as if nothing had happened and said, "Sorry, I didn't see it just now."
"It's nothing." His voice was so low that I could not even hear any emotion.
After moving away from him, I poured myself a glass of water and sat down in a chair to drink slowly.
Jordan half-squatted pulled out the glass fragments that had been pierced into his palm. His face was pale.
The blood dripped from his palm and splashed on the ground to form a pool of liquid.
Did it hurt?
I couldn't feel it at all. I just felt extremely irritable.
When Nicole came, he looked at Jordan's bloody palm and wanted to tear me apart. "Ivelle, what have you done?"
I couldn't help but look out of the window and looked at the clock. It should be very late now.
She was more infatuated with Jordan than I had imagined being here at the hospital.
I scratched my eyebrow and looked at her. Out of a sudden, I also saw Brad and Kian coming in behind her.
I smiled and said, "Thank you for coming to see me at this moment. I really appreciate your concern for me."
Nicole glared at me and squatted down to check on Jordan. I didn't know what was going on at this time. The TV, which had been turned off in the ward, was suddenly turned on.
The video playing, as I had expected, made Nicole watch it thoroughly.
While they watched, I felt numb. I looked at each and every one of them.
There was fear, heartache, and surprise.
Yes, there was a surprise.
Liam was such a genius that she thought of letting so many people see it in this way.
After a long while, when the video was over, Nicole looked at me and then glanced at Jordan's hand.
Her face was very white. I really liked seeing her shocked expression like this. I put down the water cup in my hand. I walked slowly towards her, crouched in front of her, and said with a smile, "Nicole, did you enjoy the video just now? Do you want to know what it looked like when a suffocated child is finally taken out of its belly?"
She was terrified, pale, and frightened. "Ivelle, you're crazy!"
I smiled and admired her panicked expression. Her palms covered her bulging belly while walking away. I laughed more and more gloomy. "Do you want to experience my pain at that time? Huh? Your mother should also like this method of birthing, otherwise, why would she use it on me? Don't you realize that?"
"Ivelle, your mouth is full of lies!" Nicole was so surprised that she sat on the ground and stepped back bit by bit.
Kian cautiously recovered from the shock and picked up the frightened Nicole. "Ivelle, how can you conclude that our aunt did it?"
I raised my eyebrows and said, "Guys, do you need to see the evidence?"
At this point, I paused and said in a bored tone, "This spoiler is no fun. I'll show you what the suffocated child looks like the other day."
As my stare landed at Nicole's protruding belly, I laughed more and more wantonly. "It also allows you to see in advance what your child will look like after suffocation, okay?"
"Take me away! Let's leave! She's crazy!" Nicole was so frightened that she started speaking incoherently and grabbed Kian cautiously, begging him to take her away.
Kian looked at me cautiously. His emotions were so complicated that he couldn't say how he felt exactly.
As soon as Nicole left, I couldn't help feeling bored. I took a faint look at the man whose blood was dripping on the ground and then took a look at Brad standing at the door.
Looking at the heartache in his eyes, I felt a sharp pain in my heart and became even more irritable.
I called Aaron. When the phone was connected, I said directly, "Don't you want me? Don't leave me here in the hospital alone. I'm scared!"
Jordan looked at me. I could not see the end of the depth of his dark eyes. There was only endless darkness in his expression.
He's in pain, I knew, but so what?
