###Chapter 378 Buried Resentment – Part 2
But we happened to have such a good exchange, so congenial acquaintance back then. ]
Now that we have such an awkward identity between us, I felt embarrassed.
I put down the phone. I didn't reply to her message.
When Jordan came in, I laid on the edge of the bed in a daze. There was a buzzing in my head.
So I didn't hear a word from him.
It was not until my waist was raised by him that I returned to my mind. I was stupefied for a moment. I looked back at him and saw his deep black eyes.
His voice was still a little hoarse. "What's the matter?"
He smiled and kissed me on the forehead with his cool lips. He asked in a low, magnetic voice. "What are you thinking?"
I shook my head. I put my hand around his neck and smiled, "You!"
His black eyes were bright and unmoving, and his smooth and cool lips fell on my lips. His voice was dull and hoarse. "Have you thought of anything else?"
"The person in front of me is my sweetheart!" I laughed, my eyes smiling.
He smiled subtly and clasped my hand more tightly. "Felix brought me a meal. Are you hungry?"
"A little bit!" Lying on top of him, I felt a little lazy. I tilted my head and said, "Is the meeting over?"
He had already carried me up, probably feeling too light. He mocked me, "You're too thin."
I was silent, and I had been carried into the office by him. Felix just looked at us and bowed his head and went out.
When he put me on his lap, Jordan looked at my face and played with my hair. He asked, "What do you want to eat?"
I took a look at it. It was all stew. It was very sweet and I gained an appetite when I smelled it.
I struggled to get down from his lap but was held down by him. "Aren't you going to reward me?"
I laughed and leaned on his chest. "What kind of reward do you want?"
He scratched his eyebrows and his expression seemed glad. "At least make me happy."
I looked up and kissed him on the lips in a gentle voice, "Is that all right?"
He smiled. His eyes were spoiled, and his tone added to his gentleness. "It's very sweet!"
"What's sweet?" I looked unconsciously at the table. To be exact, I was hungry.
"Your mouth!" He inched his face closer to mine and pressed me down with a good kiss.
The time that the two of us spent seemed to be just for teasing and playing with one another.
After eating, it was already noon. Recently, it seemed easier for me to be sleepy, perhaps because the sky in the capital was always overcast.
Especially during a rainy day, it was always easy to fall asleep listening to the falling of the rain.
When I woke up, Jordan laid next to me. This man was truly handsome and attractive, and his three-dimensional facial features were quiet and soft.
Maisie said that Jordan was like a puppy, who was pleasing to the eye from a distance, but very attractive nearby. You will either be trapped in his attractiveness or get lost because of how intimidating he was.
Either way, he was that beautiful.
After a day in the Astley Group, I didn't know what was happening with Blair. I reached out to touch my cell phone. I didn't want to move too much and wake Jordan up.
He opened his black eyes. A pair of cold eyes fell on me, his voice was a little low and hoarse, "Are you awake?"
I nodded, already got the mobile phone, and sent a message to Liam to ask about Blair's situation.
Jordan stretched out his hand and pulled me into his arms so that I just clung to him, and my eyes were tightly shut. "Over the past four years, I often woke up in the middle of the night and reached out to you. Everything around me was cold. Once in a dream, you lay beside me without breathing. I woke up from the dream, rushed from the capital to Hempstead, drove around Hempstead for one night, and then returned to the capital the next day."
I froze and looked up at him. I couldn't help feeling a little pained.
Seeing my surprise, he smiled with the corners of his mouth. "When I saw you in Primrose, I planned to stay there for the rest of my life. The night I stayed in your house, I woke up in the middle of the night and went to your bedroom to make sure you were alive. I tried several times to feel for your breath to make sure you were alive before I left."
I never thought that one day Jordan would say something like this in my ear.
In my heart, it's like being caught off guard, so that I couldn't catch my breath.
Lying in his chest, it took me a long time to find my voice, "I'm sorry!"
Four years were redemption for me and a disaster for him.
Those four years was a difficult time for us.
In the dead of night, I also woke up in the middle of the night. The dream would be back, and the child's flesh-and-blood figure, mixed with pain and nostalgia, would come back to my memory. So I sealed everything in the past.
Depression could not all be cured, but as long as my consciousness was still clear, and I have the person to love and protect, I would not give up in life.
For a while, there would be no way to quell the affair involving two giant companies. The reporter could not just turn this into the story. Jordan knew it, and so did Aaron Badger.
In the afternoon, it seemed that it was going to snow in the capital, and the foggy sky suddenly stretched a lot.
I sat in the lounge reading, thinking about Blair. Liam did not reply to my message.
Putting down the book in my hand, I looked sideways at Jordan, who was dealing with the papers at his desk. I got up and walked behind him.
Lying on his shoulder, aware of his smile, I said, "Jordan, I want to see Blair."
He stopped his movements, and there was no objection, but he just said, "At least wait until tomorrow. I'll go with you!"
He didn't let me go because he was worried that it was not safe for me to go out alone.
But if I continued to stay here, I would be of no use. I couldn't help saying, "I want to go! As I spoke, his eyes straightened up, but he didn't lose his temper.
He smiled gently and said, "It's cold outside."
"Liam is unreliable, you know. The baby in Blair's belly is still part of Silverman's family. In the final analysis, the child wants to call me and you, aunt and uncle. After all, I have nothing to do here. I will put on a mask and sunglasses. It's okay, as long as I keep a low profile." I was telling the truth. I have no idea what attitude Liam had towards Blair.
If he was really not on guard in the hospital, leaving Blair to suffer alone, I was desperate to be with her.
Seeing that Jordan did not speak, I thought he still disagreed and wanted to protest, so he opened his mouth.
"Fine. The bodyguard will follow you. Don't run around and wait for me to pick you up."
I was delighted and nodded eagerly, "Thank you!"
I went out by the Astley group's back door and got in the car. Several bodyguards followed. I always thought that too many people were too ostentatious.
But I also knew that if I didn't agree, Jordan won't let me go out, so I just acquiesced.
Meeting Eva Blakeley at the gate of the hospital was not an accident. At best, it was just a chance encounter.
She only wore sunglasses, but she was still someone I knew, and I could recognize her figure and temperament at a glance.
Originally there was no intersection of people. We could have been at peace as long as we did not bump into one another.
But when I passed by, Eva said in a bleak tone, "Hey, bitch!"
The condescending tone broke into my ear.
