###Chapter 387 Buried Resentment – Part 11
As he heard this, Jordan Astley smiled and said, "Good."
But for Ivelle Astley, the meaning of what Jordan said was too complicated for her to guess.
At the dinner table, she didn't have much appetite. But Jordan was picking up the food for her. Anything that she didn't eat, it was Jordan who worried about it and ended up eating everything.
After dinner, she went back to her bedroom. Although she felt sick in her stomach, she was fortunate enough that she could stand it.
Meanwhile, Jordan was in the study. Ivelle relaxed for a while. Then suddenly, she remembered that the flash drive she had put in the computer had not been taken out yet.
It was not like she wanted to keep it from him on purpose. But if she let him see past its content, she knew it would not be good for the both of them.
So, Ivelle went out of the bedroom and walked towards the study. She saw that the door was only half-closed.
When she pushed the door to enter, she saw Jordan sitting in front of the computer. When Jordan became aware of her presence, he was stunned for a moment. Then he looked back at Ivelle. His eyes were both cold and patient.
Ivelle could see that there was something strange in his black eyes.
She couldn't help but feel the loud thump in her heart. She knew that he saw the video.
Ivelle stood at the door feeling a little lost. She opened her mouth and asked him, "It's getting late. Aren't you going to bed?"
Jordan folded his lips and smiled a little in his eyes. His original patience had retreated and he said, "I'll sleep in a while."
Ivelle nodded and made herself emotionally stable as much as she could. She walked up to him and her eyes fell on the screen. Her body suddenly stiffened.
On the screen was the picture of the villa in the southern suburbs. She knew that Jordan had seen it after all.
She opened her mouth and tried to say something, but she couldn't seem to say anything.
Suddenly, Jordan spoke in a cold voice, "At that time, I was blamed, wasn't I?"
Ivelle pursed her lips, pulled out the flash disk, and calmed down. She sat next to him, gasped slightly, and replied, "At first, I thought I was blaming you. But then, I gradually realized that at that time it was because of my self-remorse and fear, and it was my fault that I failed to keep the child."
Jordan held her hand and they looked at each other. He raised his hand and put the loose strands of her hair behind her ear. Jordan told Ivelle, "It's not your fault."
Ivelle looked down. But because she didn't want to be silent in this mood, she looked up at him and smiled as she said, "It snowed heavily yesterday. What were you thinking?"
When Jordan saw her like that, he smiled at her and replied, "I thought you would be distressed."
Ivelle replied, "But if I opened my mouth, you wouldn't be able to get over it, would you?" As she said this, she was aware of the wound that was buried not just in her heart, but in his heart, too.
That one step led to a series of wrongdoings.
Frida had once told Ivelle that the person who was hurting the most in their situation was Jordan. From the moment that he exchanged her DNA with Nicole's, Jordan initially thought that he was doing it for Ivelle's sake. Only to find out in the end that it was he who had pushed Ivelle deep into the sea. It was he who destroyed the love between Ivelle and her child.
In the dead of night, he had to bear that torture and guilt in his soul.
As Ivelle was having these thoughts, Jordan stretched out his hand and pulled her closer to his arms. Then he took a shallow breath and said in a low voice, "Ivelle, I know it is too cheap to say sorry. To make up for what I've done is too hypocritical. If staying with me would only mean pain for you, then I am willing to let you go."
Ivelle put her hand around his waist, buried her head in his arms, and sighed slightly before she told him, "If you want to live, you have to look forward. An occasional glance at the past would be like having nostalgia, but looking back, again and again, is irrelevant. We cannot and should not dwell on the past."
Upon hearing this, Jordan put his arms around Ivelle and stopped talking.
In a relationship between two people, there would always be mutual attraction and mutual dependence at the beginning. But there would always be more to it than just that. There would be times of struggle and hurt, and that was typical for any relationship. For now, life was still very long for both Jordan and Ivelle.
They just had to let time heal their wounds.
When Ivelle got back to the bedroom, her stomach was still rumbling. Meanwhile, Jordan took a bath in the bathroom as Ivelle went to the balcony while feeling the pressure in her stomach.
When Jordan came out of the bathroom, he only had a bath towel wrapped around his waist. He had wide shoulders and a narrow waist. As Ivelle looked at his physique, she was speechless for a moment.
Then, she couldn't help but laugh at herself as she salivated at her husband's physique.
Jordan looked at her with a dark look in his eyes. He asked her, "What are you laughing at?"
As she walked up to him, she pursed her lips and her eyes fell on his chest. She teasingly replied, "Has anyone ever told you that you were delicious?"
Jordan smiled at the corners of his mouth and playfully told her, "You are the first person to torture and blaspheme me at the same time."
Ivelle smiled and said, "I'll go to the bathroom and wash first."
He nodded and smiled.
As Ivelle rinsed her mouth, she looked at herself in the mirror and recalled Jordan's words in her mind.
Suddenly, she felt a little sad. She seemed to be a lot older. Once, Frida had told her that at a woman's best age, she should be smiling and should be full of vitality.
She thought to herself, 'Yeah, I'm so dead.'
Suddenly, her stomach swelled and she retched. She ended up spitting out all the food that she had eaten that evening.
Jordan heard the noise and knocked at the door as he shouted, "Ivelle?"
Ivelle threw up a few more times until she had nothing to throw up. After gargling her mouth, she replied, "It's all right. I may have eaten too much."
When she came out of the bathroom, she was tightly pulled into his arms. Jordan's voice was low and patient as he said, "I'm sorry."
Ivelle pursed her lips and knew that he was distressed.
The doctor said that there was no cure for depression. It could only be controlled. But for Ivelle, most of the time she couldn't tell whether it was the disease or just the way she was.
As she leaned against his arms, she felt a little calm. She raised her hand and patted Jordan on the back to appease him and said, "It's all right. It's no big deal. I'll be all right."
That night, Jordan put his arms around Ivelle and hugged her very tightly.
The wedding of Frida Biden and Zayn Heather was originally scheduled to take place early this year. But because of the participation of the media, they agreed to reschedule the wedding for the end of the year.
It was on the 25th of December, Christmas Day in the West.
Anyone who considered themselves friends of the couple must take part in the wedding.
When Frida called her, there was some noise in her line. She was almost incomprehensible as she told her "I sent you the dress. The makeup artist would be there soon. Remember to come earlier. I will wait for you to send us our ring."
Ivelle was stupefied for a moment. She then realized that Frida wanted her to be her bridesmaid. But she refused and said, "But I've already been married."
She didn't seem to care at all and replied, " So what? Who said that you can't be a bridesmaid if you've been married? Just quit refusing me and come quickly. I'm waiting for you!"
The wedding day was a happy and busy day for any bride. Because Frida was so busy, she immediately hung up the phone.
Then, about half an hour later, the doorbell of the villa rang.
When Ivelle got up to open the door, she saw a short-haired girl who had two men with her. She smiled at her and said, "Miss Ivelle, we were asked by Miss Frida to do your make up for today's wedding."
She also noticed the gift boxes that were being held by the two men behind her. She knew it.
With a smile, she stepped back, motioned for them to come in, and said, "Please."
The girl smiled back but didn't say much.
Inside the villa, they let her put on the dress. It was a naked shoulder dress. And because it was still winter, she added an apricot plush shawl to her overall look.
Looking at the waist of her dress, one could clearly say that Frida's aesthetic had always been at the forefront of fashion.
When the girl saw that Ivelle had changed into the dress that was sent by Frida, she opened her mouth and said, "No wonder Miss Frida said that you are the most beautiful woman she has ever seen. You just change your clothes and it would be impossible for anyone to take their eyes off you."
Ivelle smiled. She could not help but feel the exaggeration in her statement. So she just told the girl, "Thank you!"
After all, it was a compliment and nice words could do so much to nourish the mind.
When she was ready to leave the villa, she met Jordan who just came back. He was still dressed in a black custom suit. In Ivelle's eyes, he looked handsome, tall, and slender, and he always shone in whatever he was wearing.
