### Chapter 93 Maisie's Pregnancy
### Chapter 93 Maisie's Pregnancy
He raised his eyebrow, looked at Ivelle questioningly and paused before he asked again, "It is very unlikely of you to do this. So tell me, what's the matter?"
Upon hearing this, she couldn't help but stop. She smiled awkwardly and then asked, "Remember the last time I was on a business trip in City A?"
Brad nodded, opened the lunch box she brought and ate it. He was probably in the office all the time, so he looked a little tired.
Ivelle continued, "The night I asked you to pick up Maisie, did you take her back to the hotel and leave?"
Ivelle was not the type of person who could handle such confrontations. But at that moment, it was obvious that she was uncomfortable beating around the bush as she couldn't ask him directly.
Brad stopped from eating, looked at her with his black eyes and then said, "You are not fit to beat around the bush. So just say it, Ivelle."
Ivelle held her forehead as she felt a little stupid.
So she tried to ask as directly as she could, "Did you and Maisie do 'something' that night?" But after asking that question, she felt really embarrassed and wished she could have hammered herself to death.
She silently thought, 'What the hell did I just ask him?'
He looked at her and raised his eyebrows as he replied, "Did what?"
In all honesty, she knew that it was both inappropriate and embarrassing to talk about this topic with a man.
But since the conversation had already started, she knew she could not back down now.
She opened her mouth and blatantly asked, "Did you have sex?" As soon as she said that, she tried to hold back the heat on her face as she waited for him to answer.
He closed the lunch box, leaned back and looked at her lightly as he replied, "Why don't you just tell me what this is all about directly?"
Ivelle was speechless. At that moment, she kind of wanted to swear.
But she didn't know whether telling Brad about Maisie's pregnancy would be good or bad for Maisie. She paused and then told him, "She seems to have contracted a disease."
As soon as he heard this, he spurted out a mouthful of water he was trying to drink.
Ivelle pulled a tissue and handed it to him. He wiped off looked the water that spouted from his mouth before he looked at her and asked, "Are you serious?"
As a matter of fact, Brad was a little guilty. But after all the words had been said, she could only look at him and say, "Did you have any--"
Brad looked at her and said, "The child will begin to grown in her womb in four months, and her current behavior will begin to affect the development of the fetus."
Ivelle couldn't help but thought, 'Should I change the subject?'
With that, Brad got up and began to sit back at his desk as he went back to work, leaving aside the matter of that night.
Meanwhile, Ivelle couldn't help guessing eight or nine points in her mind. Her wild guess was that it happened.
She didn't know what else she wanted to say. And she didn't want Brad's office door to be pushed open. But then, Jordan's tall, slender figure came not long after.
Brad looked at him sideways and said, "Take your wife back and discuss your own sexual relationship with her. She seemed very curious!"
Ivelle couldn't help but thought, 'Me?'
Jordan walked up to her, glanced at Brad, and asked him, "What did Ivelle ask you?"
Brad shrugged his shoulders. He was a little helpless when he confessed, "She asked me if I had sex with Maisie."
Upon seeing Jordan was looking at her, Ivelle smiled sheepishly and said awkwardly, "I'm just curious. Would you like to ask that for me, instead?"
But then Jordan looked at Brad and asked, "It happened?"
Brad almost jumped up from his seat, looked at the two of them and said, "It's not that the whole family doesn't enter the same door, so hurry up and take a walk!"
Ivelle knew that if she couldn't find anything, she couldn't go on.
Jordan seemed to have come to see her. He pulled her up and walked with her out of the office. Ivelle was a little shaken as she walked after him.
When they got on the car, Jordan still didn't say a word. It was as if he was either angry or did not want to talk with her.
She couldn't figure it out, so she broke the silence and said, "Have you eaten yet? It's just time for dinner."
He said nothing and there was nothing but a long silence.
Fifteen minutes later, he parked his car under a restaurant and got out of the car. Ivelle followed him and trotted all the way.
When he finally sat down, he looked at her with a light look and asked, "What do you want to eat?"
She replied, " would do. I'm not picky about food." As she looked at him, she thought that he would get mad for a while and turn around his head. She couldn't figure out when he was angry. Often, he would just tell her directly that he was not in a good mood.
Soon, all the food was served. But Ivelle was not hungry. After eating a few bites, she just stared at him and watched him eat.
Jordan used to eat very fast. But as soon as he saw Ivelle staring at him intently, his speed gradually slowed down. He looked up, picked out the corners of his lips with a bit more riffraff and playfully asked, "Because you're not eating and was just staring at me like that, are you opting to eat me, instead?"
"No!"
"Then what's with that look?"
Ivelle sat up straight, shook her head and said, "I'm not hungry."
He put down his chopsticks, looked lightly at her, and raised his eyebrows before asking, "What's the matter?"
Ivelle nodded and took the initiative to explain, "There are many problems with Samson's Electronics. The factory in the southern district stopped for half a year and yet, the company's current account continues."
He replied, "Is there anything else?"
Ivelle silently thought, 'Hell, yes!'
She then said to him, "Would a girl's social status matter that much to Dr. Silverman's parents? Brad's parents are big shots in the capital, and they are medical experts. I am a little worried for Maisie if her child is really Brad's."
She silently thought, 'What are they gonna do with her?'
He raised his eyebrow and replied, "You seem to be interested in Brad."
She subconsciously nodded and noticed that there was something wrong with his expression. So she smiled and said, "No, it just occurred to me, so it wouldn't matter that much if I ask."
He lowered his eyes and said no more.
Seeing that Ivelle had no appetite, Jordan stopped eating and dragged her out of the restaurant. They went directly to the mall. Jordan went shopping, as if he was always in the mode of moving.
Although she went with him, it was as if she was just a decoration beside him. But when she saw that he bought all the baby products, she didn't say much. After all, these things were needed.
After they had finished shopping, it was already getting late and she was a little tired. She immediately went to sleep not long after they got on the car.
Vaguely aware that they were already in the villa, she did not open her eyes until she felt her body being held by him in his arms.
He then told her, "We're home!"
He carried her all the way back to the bedroom, put her on the bed, and then he went straight into the bathroom.
Meanwhile, Ivelle slept so little that she didn't go back to sleep when she woke up. She lay in bed and stared at the ceiling in a daze.
Not long after, Jordan came out after taking a bath and wiped off the excess moisture from his body. He lifted the quilt and lay on Ivelle's side on the bed. He put his hand around her waist and held her in his arms.
As they lay on the bed facing each other, their eyes met Ivelle got a little distracted.
Jordan twisted his eyebrow and raised his hand to push Ivelle's loose hair strands to one side. His voice was a little low when he asked her, "Do you want to take a bath?"
Ivelle replied, "I don't want to move." As she tried to move her body a little to lay on one side, she felt a little uncomfortable in her belly.
And she began to feel worse in a few minutes.
So she just sat up.
Jordan worriedly asked, "What's the matter?" Then he also got up put his hand on her belly. He then asked her, "Does it hurt?"
She then tried to explain, "I don't know what's going on. I've been feeling a little pain recently, but I can't find out if there's anything wrong after every check-up. The doctor just said that everything's normal."
After relaxing for a while, Ivelle couldn't sleep at all. She reached for her phone and looked at the time. It was only 11:00 in the evening.
So, she got out of bed and said to Jordan, "You go to sleep first. I'll sit in the hall for a while."
But he couldn't sleep in bed, too. Her repeated tossing and turning disturbed him.
Jordan's arm wrapped around her waist as he said, "Don't go. Just lie down. You should fall asleep in a while."
Ivelle tried to struggle but his arms were too strong.
Then, the room quieted down. The light inside the room was warmed by him and soon, there was a slow, steady sound of breathing. Ivelle closed her eyes as she tried to fall asleep.
