Maryam's pov
" When are you going to tell your parents about us?" Mikaeel asked getting annoyed and standing up.
I replied looking down," Soon. I am just looking for a chance to tell them about everything."
" Chance! I can't continue waiting like that. It's already too late. Don't you want to marry me?" He shouted on my face and I stood up hurriedly to calm him down before he loses his patience.
Holding his hands I replied softly," Mikaeel, please. Try to understand. You know very well how conservative is my family. They don't like the idea of Love marriage. Specifically, my brothers and father are completely against it. In that case, I need time to convince them. Please, give me a few more days."
" Do whatever you want to do," He said sounding pissed off and sat on a bench very close to the lake.
Well, I haven't introduced Mikaeel to you yet. His full name is Mikaeel Sheikh. He is my boyfriend and we are in a relationship since our school days. He is the same age as me and recently joined his father's business after graduation.
And, about me? I am Maryam Baig and 25 years old. After graduating I started working in a call centre. Based on my academic result I would have gotten a better job than this but I couldn't. Let's not talk about the unemployment problem.
" Maryam, I am ready to leave everything for you. I don't need anything but you. I don't even need my father's billion-dollar business. I just want you. Let's elope from here and start a new journey," he said emotionally holding my hands.
Caressing his cheeks I answered back," Mikaeel, please. Have some trust in me. I will convince my family anyhow. By eloping, we won't get anything except our families' disappointment. We should never upset our parents. I assure you that I will find out a way."
" Just do it quickly, Maryam. I can't live without you anymore. I just don't want to meet you like that anymore. I want you in my house, in my embrace as my wife. I have waited for enough," He said pulling me close to him and I rested my head on his shoulder.
Taking my hands he kissed them and a chuckle left my mouth. He just loves me too much. Just like I love him. I can't even imagine my life without him. I am lucky to have a person like him in my life. Though sometimes he acts very rudely with me, I am ok with it.
After talking to him for some time I returned home and as expected my elder sister in law started lecturing me. My family want me to marry off as soon as possible but I am not agreeing yet. I will marry Mikaeel only. No one else.
Let's give you a short description of my family. My family consists of 12 members. My father, mother, three brothers & their wives and four sisters including me. My brothers are married as well as my elder sister. I and my two sisters are unmarried yet.
My father was a barber but not anymore. My brothers have a joint business together so my father left this profession.
" 25 ki ho gayi ho. Nikah vikah karo aur apna ghar bachao. Aur kitne din hamare yaha muft ki roti ya todoge ( You are already 25. Get married and have your own family. How many days you will keep living here for free?)" My sister in law taunted and I swallowed her taunting silently. Because It's not the first time she is insulting me.
I remained silent when my other sister in law mocked," Bhaiyo ki kamai khane mey accha hi lagta hey, hey Nah Maryam ( It feels good to rely on brothers' incomes, doesn't it Maryam?")
I didn't utter a single word to them and returned to my room. What's the point of arguing with these two illiterate bitches? One is the 10th pass and another one is the 8th pass. These two always like to poke into every single matter unlike my third sister in law. She is a good person and I like her a lot.
Changing my clothes I came outside and found my third sister in law Raisa cleaning one of the guest rooms. Why is she cleaning it? Is someone coming to visit us?
" Bhabhi(sister in law), is someone coming? Why are you cleaning the guest room suddenly?" I asked curiously.
She answered huffing," Don't you know? Mehzabin and her family are coming to meet us."
" Really! Mehzabin api! When?" I asked getting excited.
She answered wiping the dirt from the mirror," This week."
" Oh, Allah! She is coming! After a long time. I just can't explain how excited I am to meet my sister," I thought mentally.
Author's pov
" Mamma, pick me up," Yamir whined jumping in front of his mother Mehzabin who was busy rocking her 3-month-old daughter Omaira.
Mehzabin replied affectionately," Just a few minutes, baby. Let mamma put your sister in the crib. Then, only mamma-son moments, ok?"
" Hurry up, mamma," Yamir said clutching his mother's dress tightly.
A few moments later, Omaira slept over his mother's shoulder and Mehzabin put her in the crib. The moment Omaira realized she isn't in her mother's embrace anymore she started crying loudly.
" Shh........Shh.....baby, mamma is here. Don't cry. Don't be afraid," Mehzabin cooed in Omaira's ear but the angry little girl continued screaming.
Mehzabin was already struggling to handle Omaira when Yamir thought to give his mother more hard times.
He demanded angrily," Pick me up. You promised me."
" Baby, give me a few more minutes," Mehzabin replied affectionately but her stubborn boy didn't understand his mother's situation.
He also started crying loudly while pulling her dress. The maids tried to calm him down but he wasn't in the mood to hear anything.
" Sweety, don't cry. Mamma is sorry," Mehzabin requested but in anger, Yamir bit her hand making her yelp.
Mehzabin was struggling to handle her kids when a man in his late 30s entered the room.
He was wearing traditional Arab clothing like a kaffiyeh & an agal over his head. A white kandura was covering his 6'7" large body perfectly. His eyes twinkled with affection seeing the scenery in front of him. He chuckled looking at his favourite trio.
Noticing her husband, Mehzabin said pouting her lips," You are smiling! Instead of helping you are smiling! Seriously, Yardan."
" Sorry, my queen. Don't start scolding me again," he said and picked up Yamir who was still shedding tears.
He cooed wiping away Yamir's tears," See, Baba is here. Why were you crying? Who scold you, huh!! Shh......shh......"
When the kids slept on their parent's shoulders, Yardan pulled Mehzabin into his embrace. She chuckled when he rested her head over his shoulder.
" I told you that one is enough but no you needed another one! Now face them. It's been days since I love you properly. Do you know that I am missing you," Mehzabin complained pouting her lips.
He replied having a mischievous smile," Which part you were missing?"
" 2 baccho ki bap ho gaye hey aap lekin tharak abbhi wohi hey ( You have become a father of two children but the lustness is still the same)," She replied slapping his shoulder playfully.
He replied nodding his head," I don't know what you just said. I am still trying to learn your language."
" Anyway, didn't you pack your stuff yet? Our flight is after 2 days," He asked searching for her luggage and she glared at him.
He replied gulping down," Yeah, I can understand. You didn't get time to pack after handling the kids. I was just asking. Don't scare this poor man with your burning eyes."
" Now, you are returned to your track. Oh! I was just thinking to bring my sister Maryam with me this time. She will be a great help to me since the kids don't like to stay with the maids," Mehzabin said putting Omaira in the crib and Yardan nodded his head in the positive placing Yamir in the bed.
Mehzabin was going to say something when Yardan whispered pulling her into his embrace," You didn't say what you were missing about me?"
Mehzabin blushed looking down and after that, they did whatever couples do in their bedroom.
