'Knock Knock.....Who's there?.......Your past. Your past is knocking on the the front door. What are you going to do, Face it or run and hide?'

Mayfair Residence,
South Africa.
Amanda could feel the rage emanating from Denola as he packed Kamila's things into the bag.
"Can you just listen to me for a second, please?" she asked moving closer to him.
Denola turned to face her sharply "I'm a few seconds from breaking and snapping at you Amanda. What the hell is your problem?" he asked angrily.
Amanda sighed "I just....I want to...I don't want to leave without you. I don't want to take her away from you." Amanda said.
Denola's frown deepened "You want to go to Canada, out of the blue. Are you freaking crazy? You want to take Kamila away from her home, her father, her family. For what reason?" Denola asked irritated.
"I don't want to take her away from you, I want you to come with us. If you don't.....then I'll have no choice but to take her with me...alone" Amanda finished.
Denola let out an irritated breath "If you want to leave, leave. You can't take Kamila anyway, you'll try but you won't succeed" Denola said zipping the bag shut and walking out of the room.
Amanda followed him "What, you're going to get your entire team of lawyers to fight me?" she asked surprised.
Denola turned towards her again "Yes, if I have to. And we both know who will win. What the hell do I have to do to satisfy you, why the heck do you want to go to Canada with our daughter? I do a lot for you Amanda but you can't do the same because you're selfish!" Denola spat and stormed off.
Amanda stared after him heart broken, she couldn't meet him half way on this one. The end was near, she could feel it.

Mayfair Estate,
Lagos,
Nigeria.
"Good evening ma" Davina grinned as she ran into Dame Mayfair in the lounge. "Look who came to visit. Since your friend went to South Africa, you deserted us" Dame said playfully.
Davina shook her head "I'm very sorry, I didn't desert you Dame. I've just been very occupied. Anyway now that Amanda and my goddaughter are coming back, I'll be here everyday" Davina said cheerily.
The Dame smiled "I spoke to Denola earlier today and I think they'll be landing in a few hours" she informed Davina.
Davina nodded "Amanda actually asked me to check the nursery, she wants everything to be in place before Kamila's arrival" Davina said.
Dame Mayfair nodded "Of course. Atalia outdid herself in that area, I doubt it'll be lacking. I'm going out to see my In-laws, see you later dear" Dame said with a small smile before walking out of the lounge.
Davina bade her goodbye and continued into the living room, she looked around in surprise as she took in the living room.
They had gone all out for this party, balloons, stickers, flowers and various decorations were hung everywhere.
There was a banner across the living room with the inscription 'Welcome Home Eniola. K. Mayfair'
Davina was still gazing at the wallpaper when Jadesola walked into the living room. "Oh look who is here, the minion" Jadesola said with a scathing look on her face.
Davina returned her glare. She was used to Jadesola's glares and rude remarks but she was never intimidated. Some days she ignored Jadesola, and on other days like this...she gave back in kind.
"Oooh I didn't know the spoiled princess was back" Davina murmured just before Atalia entered the room.
She looked surprised to see Davina but only for a moment before she put on her friendliest smile.
"Honey, what are you doing here so early? The party is not starting until later" Atalia said.
Davina smiled back "Amanda asked me to come and check the nursery. She wants everything in order before she..." She was saying when Atalia interrupted her.
"Everything in order?" she chuckled amused.
"Of course everything is in order. I made sure of that, you don't need to check it or worry about anything" Atalia said.
Davina suddenly felt weird, she couldn't fathom why but she felt odd. "Yeah? In that case, I'll just lounge around and wait for the Dame to return" Davina said.
Atalia felt her insides curl with irritation. She didn't want Davina here, not at the moment anyway.
"I have something you could do, I'm sending the driver to the airport now to wait for Denola and the baby. I think you should go with him" Atalia said.
Jadesola smirked and walked away, Davina mentally sighed before nodding in agreement. It was either that or remain with the very unbearable Jadesola.
"Good" Atalia clapped. "Go and wait in the lounge, the driver will be with you shortly" She said and walked out of the living room.
Davina sighed, she couldn't ignore the niggling feeling in her chest but there was nothing she could do about it.

Davina could feel the tension in the car the minute Denola got into the front seat with the driver and Amanda got into the back with the baby.
"Are you okay?" Davina murmured taking Kamila from her Amanda and into her arms.
Amanda shook her head "We'll talk later" Amanda mouthed and rested her head against the car seat.
Davina nodded and turned her attention to the sleeping baby who was starting to look more like Denola.
Denola chatted with the driver all the way to the estate while Amanda napped. Davina wondered if Amanda didn't sleep at all on the plane and why she was looking tired and tensed.
"Hey how come Kamila is sleeping so soundly, did you guys give her sleeping meds or something?" Davina joked as they drove into Mayfair estate.
"Or something...." Denola teased causing Davina to chuckle. The sound woke Amanda up.
"Are we at the estate already?" She asked in a croaky voice. Her eyes were still dull from her nap.
Denola did not ignore the fact that she'd addressed their home as 'the estate' as she'd always done in the past.
If she was determined to have her heart somewhere else then she could go, but definitely not with his daughter, he thought.
"Yes, are you excited for the party?" Davina asked cheerily. "Don't forget to act surprised, I didn't tell you anything" Davina said.
Amanda groaned "Ugh! Atalia and her parties. I really just want to skip it and go to bed" Amanda said.
"It's late already but it's a close knit party, just stay for a few minutes before you retire to your bedroom. Everyone will understand that you're tired and at least you'd put up an effort" Davina said just as the driver drove into the parking lot.
Amanda rolled her eyes and glared at the back of Denola's head. "D, did you know about the party?" she asked him calmly.
Instead of responding to her question, he murmured something to the driver before getting out of the car.
"What did you do to him?" Davina asked. "He seems really upset" she said stating the obvious.
Amanda waited till the driver got out of the car before leaning into Davina to discuss like conspirators.
By the time the driver got their bags out of the boot and pulled the door open, Davina was whispering furiously.
Amanda flushed when Denola fixed them a suspicious stare. "Let's finish this later" Amanda murmured and got out of the car.
Davina followed with Kamila still asleep in her arms, although she was starting to stir now.
Amanda took the baby from Davina and began to rock her back to sleep gently.
The trio walked into the lounge, Amanda looked stressed, Denola was still pissed as he rang the doorbell while Davina was expressionless.
*
Jadesola rushed to the door the minute she heard the doorbell. The Dame, Atalia, Akintade and a few of the house helps were in the massive living room awaiting the couple and the baby.
Denola grinned when he saw his sister and wrapped his arms around her. "Hey trouble maker. Good to see you again, I've missed you" he said causing Jadesola to smirk.
"Missed you too, did you enjoy your vacation, where is my niece?" Jadesola asked excitedly.
Denola turned to look at Amanda who had a sour expression on her face now.
"She's asleep, everyone can take turns in carrying her when she wakes up. Just let her sleep for now" Amanda said pushing past Denola into the living room.
Denola's face mirrored his disapproval but he said nothing, Jadesola however hissed and turned to her brother.
"Surprise...we threw you a party and invited your in-laws" She said.
"What in laws?" Denola asked at about the same time he heard a gasp.
"Hassana!" he heard a hoarse voice shout as he walked into the living room.
"Amanda's parents" Jadesola tossed carelessly.
Amanda's world stopped for a minute, her knees went weak as she stared at Alhaji and Alhaji.
"Davina...Davina" she murmured weakly still staring at her parents as if they were unreal and a figment of her imagination.
Davina came forward immediately, shock and worry evident on her face. "I didn't know...I didn't know" she kept muttering.
Amanda handed Kamila over to Davina. "Take Kamila for a walk, she's getting restless" she said.
Davina was about to take Kamila when Denola stopped her.
"No one is leaving this room until I find out what the hell is happening here" Denola scowled at Amanda.
Amanda refused to meet his gaze, shît was about to hit the fan.
Jadesola chuckled "Denola, meet Alhaji Abubarkar and his wife Alhaja. They are the parents of your wife Amanda or should I say Hassana" Jadesola announced.
Amanda shut her eyes tightly, she didn't want to see Denola's anger, Atalia and Jadesola's victorious smirk or The Dame and her son's disappointment.
"What in the world are you talking about, Amanda is an orphan. She told me herself...she's" Denola was saying in her defense when His mother cut him off.
"Amanda won't you say anything? you've been lying to Denola since day one. Say something, defend yourself maybe. Oh right, cat's got your tongue. Your name isn't even Amanda right? No, you're Hassana!" Atalia spat hatefully.
Amanda let out a shaky breath and opened her eyes to see Denola's eyes pooled with hurt, anger and confusion.
"Denola...I can explain, please just let me" she reached out to him but he moved away.
"Don't you fucking touch me!" he sparked. "Just tell me what the hell is happening" he yelled.
The noise got Kamila alert and she began to whimper. Davina acted quickly and took the baby from Amanda.
"I'll be outside..." she murmured and walked out of the living room.
She didn't have any contributions to make, there was nothing she could say now in Amanda's defence.
From day one, they'd both known that Amanda would pay a heavy price for all her secrets someday .
Well that day was today, Amanda had to carry her cross.
