Chapter 35
I was freaking out the longer the light out lasted, I was scared of being stuck in here throughout the day and I was scared of staying with doctor Alec in the dark elevator alone.
I couldn't help but cry uncontrollably hitting on the elevator. "Somebody please help!" I yelled in a teary voice as the place was gradually becoming stuffy from lack of air, I couldn't breathe properly as me and doctor Alec were literally sharing the same air.
"Calm down Mrs Loxley, I am sure the technical team of the mall are working on it" Alec said in a calm comforting voice as all I could do was cry. I couldn't imagine spending a longer time here, it would have been better with Edde.
I slid through the glassy wall of the elevator and sat on the floor as I placed my head in-between my legs, I was already feeling weak from lack of proper air. It's been an hour and some minutes of us being trapped together and the time is still counting.
"I need Edde next to me" I cried inaudibly in-between my legs.
"Uhm, Mrs Loxley the light is back on" I heard as I quickly raised my face confirming the light as a smile cripped my lips and I placed my hand on my fast beating chest in relief.
Soon the elevator got to the first floor as I quickly rushed out. "Betta!" I heard behind me and before I could turn I felt that familiar hand hug me from behind.
It was kinda shocking that Edde really hugged me for real like he missed me but I kept calm enjoying the moment.
"Ed… Edde people are watching" I whispered.
"I don't care," he said and turned me to face him. "I know it must be hard staying in a dark elevator alone, how are you feeling?" He said rubbing my face worriedly.
"I am fine now that I'm out, I wasn't alone I…"
"You were with him alone in there?" Edde muttered in a husky voice glaring at someone at the corner as I turned to see Alec staring at us. I wonder why he stood there like the statue of liberty instead of leaving.
"Yes but I promise nothing happened, let's go home I'm tired and hungry" I said pulling Edde who was still glaring at Alec with fury.
"Did he hurt you? Was he stalking you or something?"
"None of that Edde, let's just go!" I was pissed off knowing that he wanted to fight Alec. "Edde, people are filming you! Control your anger!"
Getting on the drive way I could feel Edde's eyes piercing through my skin every second and it was kinda getting me scared that he might lose focus of his driveway and get us into danger.
"Betta are you okay?" Edde asked worriedly as I nodded hastily, for some reasons I like that he was worried about me and all I wanted was to smile my heart out but that would be cringy.
"Do you need anything? Ice cream, more chocolate or fruits. I can get them for you" he offered as I turned to him and let out a hearty smile.
"When we get home I will have a better meal, I'm sure the table is set already. I tested grandma Felicia" I replied as he nodded, probably satisfied with my reply, the rest of the drive back home was quiet. It was boring but quite relieving.
Edde packed inside the garage as the maids hurried to the car to get the things we bought out, I came down from the car very exhausted as I dragged my feet into the house.
"Welcome home ma'am" one of the maids greeted me and took my bag.
"Just drop the bag in the bedroom, I will sit here for a while" I said in-between a yawn and sat on the couch resting my head on the arm and closed my eyes welcoming the chilly sir from the Air conditioner.
"Uhm, ma'am lunch is served" The cook said in a bow as I nodded and shut my eyes back, I was too tired and couldn't see myself getting up again.

I yawned loudly as I rubbed my eyes to clear the smudgy view and sat up on the mattress stretching my bones tiredly, it had been a long stressful day for me. I tried eating but I couldn't eat much of the rice as that wasn't what I craved so the cook made Seafood pasta for me and that was what I ate before Edde led me to bed.
Thinking of Edde, I scanned around the room but noticed that I was alone. I sighed and took my phone from under the pillow as I checked the time it was 7pm already. I must have slept for long.
I carefully swung my legs down the bed and shoveled my legs into my slipper as I dragged my foot to the balcony and sat on the lounge chair. "I can't wait to get him off me, we have three months to go and it still seems far to me" I sighed, rubbing my bump carefully when my phone beeped. I checked the screen and it was a message from Melanie asking if I was still busy. I quickly called her and she picked immediately.
"Hello Mel, how are you doing?" I asked worriedly as she sighed over the phone.
"I'm fine, I'm just scared I haven't told Mom and Dad about my pregnancy and you Know how strict my Dad is" I could tell Melanie was crying from the sound of her voice and I felt sorry for her, if anyone would want a baby it's definitely not Melanie because she's the type that would want to enjoy her youthful age before getting a family. It was also crazy to hear that Melanie would let a man bring down her ego let alone beat her up.
"Mel, please stop crying we will sort this out, but I think you should tell your parents hence you can't hide it forever".
"No way Etta, my parents will disown me and blame all this on me, they are the last persons in my mind after all they told me about being responsible and all… Etta if there is anything I need now it's love, care and solutions not blames!" Melanie yelled angrily as I ran my fingers through my hair.
"No one is blaming you and no one will, uhm… Can you please send me Luca's number?" I asked, twitching my lips.
"Why? You want to confront him. No Etta that will add more petrol to the fire I don't want him to beat me up again." She panicked as I sighed, rolling my eyes heavenward.
"No that's not what I intend doing, Edde is having his birthday party in two days time so all I want to do is invite Luca and tell him to come with you, that's an opportunity to talk things out" I said hopefully she understands.
"Etta, do you think Luca will accept your invitation? You know he is quite strong headed".
"Just send it already!" I muttered in-between gnitched teeth.
"Thank you so much Etta, I will send it right away".
"Anytime best" I replied and ended the call as I took a deep fresh breath.
Speaking of Edde's birthday, why hasn't he still told me about it or doesn't he think it's important for me to know? Thanks to the text I saw on his phone from his event planner about the birthday preparation, if not I wouldn't have known that he was gonna throw a party.
I wonder what he is upto…
I helped myself up from the lounge chair and entered back to the room. I was already getting cold from the cold air and my face was already numb, same with my arms which already had goosebumps.
Entering the room I sighted the baby stuff kept inside the opened walk-in closet.
In a few months I will officially be a mom and Edde will be a dad, my Mom a grandmother and Melanie a godmother, it happened so fast!
Am I fit to be a mom, will I be able to train my kid for just one year and fucking leave? I want good training for my son and I want to be a good mom to him unlike my mother.
Will I be able to leave my baby at a very young age for Edde and his sluts to take care of? I don't want my son to act like his father. I'd blame myself. I wish I could reverse this contract.
I felt hot tears roll down to my lips as I quickly wiped it off, I didn't realize I was crying. I should reserve my tears for the day I will leave my baby to Edde's care.
"Ray, how dare you!" Edde's voice came in so loud that it could hurt his throat. Why does he sound so angry?
"Edde, what's the issue?" I heard Ray's calm voice.
"Hey! Don't give me that goody attitude like you don't know what you did! Before leaving this house with Elizabeth I remember warning you to stay far from my car and my money but still you couldn't hold back the demon in you! You still went out with my car and spent the hundred thousand dollars I left in there…. How dare you Ray!" Edde yelled with rage in his voice, I could tell the level of his anger from the sound of his voice.
"Edde, I can explain just…"
"Shut the heck up! Just when I thought five years in prison would change you but here you go again, still stealing!".
Wait… Ray steals!
