Chapter 7 Running vs Kissing

Before Jonathan could curse out loud, he immediately ran to the window and went to call for Stefani. "Stefani!" He then realized there was actually a balcony and a ladder outside. Not feeling relieved enough, Jonathan climbed down and followed after Stefani, whose form soon became visible to Jonathan. It was only all thanks to Jonathan's long legs that he caught up really fast.

"Stefani! Come back here!" Jonathan called, running after the brat who kept going as if she was being followed by a dog.

"Don't follow me!" Stefani shouted back, voice in pain and anger as she ran even faster, her dress dancing swiftly against the wind.

Jonathan's breathing became more ragged and his chest pained along with the throbbing in his head. Why was Stefani making things so hard for him? Couldn't she be less dramatic for once? He thought as he chose to ignore the pain in his body and kept running after the stubborn kid. When Stefani came to a stop probably due to exhaustion, Jonathan immediately went over to her and held her arm tightly.

"L-Let me go!" Stefani angrily said while panting hard.

"Stefani," Jonathan called with his chest still heaving hard from the run they did.

"Why did you follow me? Why are you here? You're supposed to be mad at me for using you all this time! Why do you even bother following me? Don't you know how much I hate your guts? I hate-"

Stefani's eyes widened as Jonathan suddenly shut her mouth, with his own lips, pulling Stefani close to his body, his hand at the small of her back, the other wrapped around Stefani's wrist. Both could hear the loud pounding of their hearts, from the run and from somewhere else, with Jonathan's lips pressed at Stefani's soft ones.

There were cherry blossom petals slowly falling down the path where they stood together and Stefani didn't realize her dream to be kissed under the cherry blossom tree had already happened. For a moment, nothing else mattered. For a moment, only two people existed.

"You talk too much," Jonathan soon said after he pulled away.

"Y-You.. did you just..." Stefani's face paled then turned to a completely deep red tomato.

Jonathan couldn't help but smile a bit upon looking at Stefani's flushed face. He didn't know why but watching Stefani blush because of him made his heart do this strange movement... he couldn't exactly define what it was. But it felt good. It felt incredibly good.

"P-Pervert! Y-You're a perverted alien psycho monkey!!!" Stefani began throwing names at Jonathan like she usually does all while glaring at Jonathan with a red face.

"You're blushing," Jonathan teased, which only made Stefani's face even redder. "Your face is red."

"No, it's not! It's not red! It's not red!" Stefani angrily shouted while trying to look away and hide her face. Jonathan couldn't help but chuckle at the sight.

After a minute of Stefani insisting her face wasn't red and Jonathan was blind, Jonathan spoke, "Come on, let's go back to your house and talk." Jonathan started walking back to the Hernandez mansion while holding Stefani's wrist tightly.

Stefani forcibly pulled her wrist from Jonathan's grasp and turned her head away, "If we're going to talk about how my dad just cares about me and my safety, then never mind. I don't want to hear it."

"No, I think he's being overprotective towards you," Jonathan said.

With that reply, Stefani quickly looked in Jonathan's direction. She suspiciously looked at the older then asked, "Are you being serious?"

"Do you really want to go on this trip? Can you really go without a maid who would take care of you, a bodyguard who would save you if you need help? Can you really protect yourself?" Jonathan asked, ignoring Stefani's previous question.

Stefani frowned. "Are you my grandmother or something?"

"Well, if you don't want any help then fine by me," Jonathan shrugged and was about to turn around when Stefani quickly moved and caught his arm.

"Wait! I-I'm not really asking for your help... b-but if you insist, then I guess I have no choice but to let you." Stefani blushingly said without looking at Jonathan.

Jonathan realized the need to scoff and sigh would be tripled up whenever he was with this kid.

"I'll help you then," Jonathan calmly said, making Stefani's eyes shine.

The younger one already knew how manipulative this arrogant Jonathan Gonzalez was, he could really help Stefani persuade his father to allow her to go on the trip.

But then Jonathan suddenly added, "In one condition."

Stefani frowned and started muttering hateful comments under her breath.

Jonathan stared at Stefani seriously and spoke, "Tell me why you hate..."

Before Jonathan could even finish, he suddenly stopped and fell to the ground. Stefani's heartbeat dropped, then it started pounding loudly as she crouched down and began shaking Jonathan's body.

"H-Hey, what's wrong with you? Hey!.. Stupid monkey, get up!!!"

Stefani hated Jonathan. She absolutely hated him to the core. But why was her heart worrying too much when Jonathan suddenly collapsed to the ground and won't answer her?
