I have never been so scared in my life as when Kaysen and I realized that Cora was gone. It took everything in me to stay calm so that Kaysen would remain calm. We had been waiting in the room for a few minutes when Dr. Ryan walked in.

"You need to be drinking more fluid's Kaysen. Your urine was dark, meaning you were dehydrated. I want to place an IV in you after we have your ultrasound, ok," Dr. Ryan said.

"Normally, I drink plenty of water and milk, but yesterday was a very stressful day for me, and I didn't think to eat or drink anything after lunch yesterday. Last night I didn't feel well after the events that took place yesterday, so I didn't have anything to eat or drink. I won't do it again, Dr. Ryan. I'm sorry," Kaysen said.

"Oh, and what happened yesterday that had you so stressed, if you don't mind me asking?" Dr. Ryan asked.

Kaysen looked at me, asking me to tell Dr. Ryan the events that unfolded yesterday.

"Long story short, Dr. Ryan, Kaysen's mother, kidnapped Cora. It took us four hours to locate her and bring her home. Cora was unharmed," I said.

"I can't believe that Nancy did such a thing. I'm glad that Cora is alright. Lay down for me, Kaysen. Let's check on the babies; stress and trauma like that are not good for a woman who is in high-risk pregnancy," Dr. Ryan said and lifted her dress and placed a towel over her panties to keep them from getting wet. "Well, it looks like both babies are still doing quite well. They are each measuring at ten weeks. We will do another ultrasound in a month; by then, you will be three and a half months along, and you can start telling your family. I want to see you back here in two weeks, ok, Kaysen. Relax as much as possible, get cleaned up, and I will have a nurse take you to another room to get your IV. From now on, I want you to make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids," Dr. Ryan said as she got up and went in search of a nurse.

The nurse came in a few minutes later to take Kaysen and me to another room and got Kaysen hooked up to an IV. She then handed Kaysen and me some ultrasound pictures of our babies. I now know why Vega and Jace called their first baby alien bean for a while. Kaysen and I smiled lovingly at each other as we looked at the pictures.

I can't wait until we can start telling everyone that Kaysen is pregnant. I'm going to be a father. I hope that Kaysen will allow me to be Cora's father as well. My life has changed immensely since I met Kaysen; I couldn't ask for more.
