It has been two months since Mae and I had gone our separate ways, and I'm back to my old habits. I meet Conner and Wade at the bar and bring home different women every week. At least I'm not as bad as Conner and Wade, who have at least three women in a week. I have fun with them; it's usually about two weeks that women start to get clingy, and I let them go and move on to the next. After Mae, I knew it was best not to get into another relationship.

I was true to my word and started seeing my therapist again. I made an appointment the next day after leaving Mae's apartment. I had woken up and missed work for the first time due to a massive hangover and knew that I needed to do something before becoming an alcoholic.

Losing Mae gutted me something fierce. But I knew that it was the best thing to do. Mae had left all of my stuff at Blaze's house, and I had not heard from her since that night. Lyra and Vega had been good about ensuring that Mae and I wouldn't cross each other's paths. It wasn't an easy feat when my nieces were born, but they somehow managed.

I know I'm a complete idiot, but I couldn't help it, and I don't see myself changing any time soon, or ever for that matter.

I hadn't seen my latest conquest in three days, and I'm sure she has ghosted me, which was strange because it's usually the other way around. It's Friday afternoon, though, and I was currently working out my frustration on constructing the pool area to Lyra and Vega's rehab hospital. I need to get away from this God-forsaken wasteland. It's now June which meant in West Texas, it was currently a hundred plus degrees outside, and there isn't any air conditioning in this place yet.

Besides pitching in for our employee's health insurance and 401K's, I have saved my remaining investment income to branch out and go somewhere else. Blaze would need to find a new CFO for our company here in West Texas, but I needed to get away from this place that had caused me so much pain and heartache throughout my life. I couldn't bear to be here any longer. I would miss everyone, yes, but it's a small price to pay for my sanity. Even my therapist agreed with me on that. I could always come home and see my nieces and nephews and the rest of my family on holidays.

I got on my walkie talkie "alright, everyone, break time, grab you a bottled water and chill out for a minute," I said as I grabbed a bottled water from the cooler, sat down, and chugged its contents. I could be working in the office, but I have needed a more strenuous workout over the last couple of months.

Conner and Wade walked up to me a few minutes later.

"Hey man, we're going to Hectors Strip Club tonight. Would you like to come with us?" Wade asked as he and Conner sat next to me and chugged their waters.

"Sure, Candice has ghosted me after only two wild nights, and it has been three nights since I've blasted off. So I am in need, if you know what I mean," I said as I chugged the last of my water.

"I don't even know why you stick with one woman for two weeks. But yes, I get you. Meet us there at eight; we are taking an Uber," Conner said as he and Wade got up.

"Don't flake out on us man, you haven't been to Hectors in over three years," Wade said as they walked off.

" I'll be there, I promise," I said as I got back to work.

'What the hell do I wear?' I thought to myself as I rummaged through my clothes. I haven't been to Hectors strip club in years. I'm thirty years old, even he is married and has three kids.

Is this to be my life? I'm going to be one of those older men someday tipping a stripper and hoping for some action. Blaze was right; I let the perfect woman slip through my fingers. How long could this go on?

I arrived at Hectors club about fifteen minutes late, hoping Wade and Conner would be outside waiting for me, and of course, they weren't around, so I texted Wade.

'I'm here. Are you guys inside?'

I waited a few minutes before getting a reply.

'We are almost there; give us five minutes,' Wade texted back.

I was purposefully late, knowing they would be late, and I still got here before them.

'I'm going in. I'll get us a table,' I texted back.

I walked in and made my way to the front. It was early for a Friday night, so it was easy for me to find a table up front next to the stage. Hector walked up a few moments after I had sat down.

"Tanner, I haven't seen you in ages," Hector said as he sat down beside me.

"It's only been three years," I said as Hector waived down a waitress.

"Oh yes, Connor and Wade have told me about the one who got away," Hector said as the waitress approached.

"A round of shots, you know what I like," Hector said to the waitress, and she hurried off.

"Roberta is here tonight; she knows what to get us," Hector said as he referred to his wife, who was running the bar.

I decided to work around the one who had gotten away topic. "How are Roberta and your children doing? I asked Hector as we waited for the shots.

" Amazing, I love them with every fiber of my being. I couldn't ask for more. Roberta and I are trying for a boy now; we are both trying out new foods and trying out new positions; who knows," Hector said. The poor man has had three girls so far; I wouldn't wish that on anyone, I would go mad.

I would be one of those that would pull a shotgun out and put some fear into some young man. Heaven forbid I ever had a girl to look after. Nope no way, not ever.

"I hope that works out for you, man," I said as the waitress arrived with our shots.

"So you haven't been here in a while. So, I need to give you a heads up. You can have your pick of any woman in this place, except for Raven. Don't touch Raven, or I'll beat your ass; she is like a sister to me. Raven is different from most women you will find in this place. Do you understand what I'm telling you?" Hector asked, and then we both took our shots.

"Is that her real name or?" Hector cut me off before I could finish.

"It doesn't matter; don't touch her do you understand," Hector said and requested another round of shots.

Hector tried to put fear in me, but the more he told me to stay away from the woman, the more I wanted her. Hector is a six-foot four-inch bull of a man, though, so I thought I would heed what he said.

"Ok, stay away from Raven," I said, and at that time, Wade and Connor had arrived.

"Hey, sorry we're late; you know how it is," Connor said as he sat next to me and Wade sat down next to him.

"What did we miss?" Wade asked as he took in the scene before him.

"I need to stay away from Raven," I said as four shots materialized on the table.

"Thank you, Hector. Free shots are fantastic. Yes, Tanner, you would do best to stay away from Raven. Wade got his ass whooped by Hector already; it wasn't pretty," Connor said as we all slung back our shots.

"I get it; I'll stay away from Raven," I said even though I had yet to see this Raven person.

'What's the big deal?' I thought to myself.

"Alright guys, it's nine o'clock; I have work to do," Hector said as he rose from his seat and flagged the waitress over.

"The rest of the drinks are on you all, have a good night, guys," Hector said as he walked off.

It was now ten o'clock, and Hector had just announced this so-called Raven woman to the stage. This better be good, considering Hector had threatened me to stay away from her.

When Raven came on the stage, I had to avert my gaze because, my God, this Raven woman was sexy as hell. She was perfection. Raven was at least five foot nine inches tall, and I would have to say she weighed approximately around one hundred and forty pounds, and it was all muscle.

Raven hadn't even stripped yet, and I could tell her breast were perfect. Raven had sky blue eyes and Raven black hair that cascaded down to her plump butt cheeks, and it all made me almost cum in my pants. When her eyes met mine, my heart stopped; I couldn't breathe. Raven paused for a moment, and I came back to reality. All I could think to do was to smile and wink at her. This woman was downright sexy as hell, and I had to have her.
