Chapter 102: The Meetings
~ Cameron/Constantine ~
The Elders gathered in the Great Assembly room, and we discussed Bill’s threat. Before that, Elder Tom ensured all Elders knew that Anna and I would have our marking ceremony in two days. So, they were mad when they heard Bill threatened us to send Anna back to her otherwise he would start the war.
An Elder stood and shouted, “Alpha Cameron, I think we have been too lenient with the Hurricane Dawn Pack. We didn’t punish Alpha Bill and Beta Lisa for what they did to our Luna-to-be. We had been too merciful. Yet, they push our boundary more by asking our Luna-to-be to be sent there. How dare he make such a demand!”
Other Elders also expressed the same sentiment. I raised a hand, and everyone was quiet. “So, after what happened, I can only think of a way: war. Is there anyone who opposes this?” I looked around.
All of them stared at me and shook their heads. “We must show them they can’t look down on us and never treat us like garbage.”
“Hear! Hear!” some others shouted in unison.
“Thank you so much for your support! My job as an Alpha becomes much easier as we have the same thoughts about this. I will gather our warriors soon, and we will start a war.” Cameron stood and bowed his head a little. “You may all leave now. I will continue the meeting with our warriors.”
Some Elders bowed at me. Another wished me the best for the upcoming war. There was no doubt they were fed up already with Bill’s nonsense. Soon, I contacted our Zeta, Etas, and Tau. At first, I told them shortly about what Bill and Lisa did to Anna. Then, I also let them know about our upcoming marking ceremony in two days. Last, I divided the Zeta and Etas to discuss the best strategy to ambush the Hurricane Dawn Pack.
I asked the Tau to find a weakness of the territory or the Hurricane Dawn Pack’s pack members we could use. He promised to report in two hours, as he would gather the Upsilons to find out what information they got regarding the Hurricane Dawn Pack. After bowing at me, the Tau left the room.
Then I continued the meeting with the Zeta and Etas. They told me some of their suggestions. First, challenging Bill, so it would be less bloodshed. I liked the first suggestion. The more I thought about the threat, the more I became convinced that the Hurricane Dawn Pack’s people might not know Bill’s threat to us.
I patted my chin. “It’s possible Bill is only bluffing. He wants to test me if I will bend to his will.”
The Zeta nodded. “I agree, Alpha. His demand is quite a selfish one. I wonder if we can use our Upsilons to spread what happened to his people. Who knows if their people will rebel and fight among themselves?”
“It’s a great idea. I like it.” I blew my breath and shook my head. “Bill is crazy. How can he claim our Luna-to-be as his woman?”
“Maybe you need to spread the information that your marking ceremony will be held in two days,” the Zeta suggested to me.
I shook my head. “No, if we do that, other packs may use the opportunity to attack us. The best way is to create chaos within their pack and make them fight each other.” I tapped my fingers on the table. Suddenly, I remembered something. “I have another idea I need to discuss with Beta Nate, but please prepare an infiltration and ambush strategy. We may leave at midnight or at dawn.”
The Zeta and Upsilons stood and bowed at me. “Yes, Alpha. We are ready!”
I was just about to leave the Great Assembly room when Nate and Melanie ran in my direction. It was odd to see them come here at the same time.
“Cameron!” Nate shouted.
“Alpha!” Melanie also called me. Her face was crimson, as if she pushed herself too much to run.
What’s going on? When they were before me, Melanie took a deep breath and gasped for air.
Nate shook his head. “It’s a mess!”
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
“Someone did a trick and pretended that you sent Anna a gift and arranged a date with her.” Then Nate glanced at Melanie. “Please tell Cameron the rest.”
“I went to your house, and Psi Mimi panicked because Anna wasn’t at home yet. While I knew you were still here. So, who did she meet?” Melanie’s face paled. “Psi Mimi told me two of our pack members came to your house. First, a teen she-wolf sent a diamond necklace. She said it was from you. Then another young girl came with a message in a pink envelope.”
My heart beat so fast. I guessed Bill tried to take Anna from me. “Where did Anna go?”
“The driver who sent Anna said the destination was to the Moon Bridge.” Melanie bit her lower lip. “Alpha, what should we do?”
“Thank you for your quick response, Melanie. You stay here with Mimi. I’ll go to the Hurricane Dawn Pack to get Anna back.”
“I’ll come with you,” Nate said.
I shook my head. “No, please investigate everything, as I don’t have any time for now. If it’s true Bill is the one behind all this, I will make him sorry to be born. Yet, if someone else wants to get Anna to weaken me, we must be prepared for the possibility too. I will need you to do whatever is necessary to get Anna back.” I took a deep breath. “Contact our Tau to find any information about this. Bring some Etas too to fight, if it is necessary.”
Nate nodded. “Yes, I’ll do it!” Then he left right away.
Melanie was still there. Her eyes shone with tears. “What will happen to Anna? If Alpha Bill captures her ….”
I was worried about that too, but I shook my head. “Our Anna is strong, smart, and courageous. We will find her.”
