Chapter 47: The Looming Nightmare
I closed my eyes and smiled. I didn’t know what happened to Cameron, so he was so hungry and thirsty for me. Then I remembered something. Touching my belly, I wondered if I was already pregnant. It might be the reason Cameron wanted me more. Many people said pregnant women shine differently.
I wanted to spend more hours in bed, but then there was a click on the front door. “Cameron? Is that you?”
There was no voice. So I wrapped myself in the blanket. “Cameron?”
Then, two guards stared at me. “Anna Warren?”
“Yes?”
“You come with us now.”
I frowned. “Why? I’m waiting for Cameron, our Beta.”
“It’s Alpha Horace’s order.”
I gasped and nodded. “I will get dressed first. Please wait for me.” Then I rushed upstairs. I washed my body quickly with soap, dried my body, and put on clothes in a minute. I brushed my hair and sighed. My lips were swollen, and I couldn’t do anything about that. Yet it must be important, as Alpha Horace wanted me to meet him. I wanted to make a good impression on him. Even after a quick shower, it was clear I mated with Cameron for hours.
Then I walked with the two guards to Alpha Horace’s house. But we didn’t enter the house, and yet the guards brought me elsewhere. “Wait, didn’t you tell me it was Alpha Horace’s order to bring me to meet him?”
“We didn’t say that,” the guard said.
“So?”
“Just come with us. You will understand.”
I didn’t want to cause trouble, so I walked with them to a small house next to Alpha Horace’s house. Ah, Alpha Horace might want to talk to me in his other house. I didn’t know the small house was his. But when a guard opened the door, it was dark inside.
“Why did Alpha Horace want to meet me here?”
Before I heard an answer, a cloth with a strong scent was smothered over my face. I struggled to remove the clothes, but I was no match for the two guards. Then it was all dark.

Evelyn opened the door with a gloomy face. She didn’t look me in the eye. “Alpha Horace is waiting in the working room.”
“Is everything okay?”
Evelyn sighed. “Your father is stubborn. Go to the working room. He’s waiting.”
Walking to the working room, I realized Evelyn hadn’t answered my question. I wondered if she had a problem with my father. “Father, what do you want to talk about with me?”
“Sit down. I will finish my work first. It won’t take too long.”
I sat and sighed as I wanted to return to my house quickly. I couldn’t wait to mate with Anna again. It was weird as it was the first time as if I was addicted to her body. No, not her body, but her. It was good to be with her. The sex itself was amazing, but I couldn’t describe with words what I felt after spending the time with her.
“Cameron? Cameron?” Then my father called again, louder this time, “Cameron!”
“Yes, Father? Why did you shout?”
“I called you five times, but you didn’t answer. What are you thinking?”
I grinned. “Nothing.”
“Cameron, you must go to the Hurricane Dawn Pack immediately. Alpha Fred just contacted me. Lisa wanted to meet you.”
I scratched my head. “I know. But why did Lisa want to meet me?”
“I don’t know. Maybe she wanted to discuss what your life after the marking ceremony would be. Go now. Don’t let the Shadows wait for you too long.”
“I will go now, Father, but I need to tell Anna first.”
“No need.”
“What do you mean no need? Anna is my mate, and I hurt Anna by taking Lisa as my mate.”
“Anna won’t mind. In fact, if you don’t go now, you may not meet Anna anymore.”
“Father, what’s going on?”
My father said nothing. Then he nodded. “I assigned two guards to take Anna from your house and reported to me. Anna is in a safe place. But if you don’t go to the Hurricane Dawn Pack soon, I may consider removing her forever.”
“What do you mean?” Sweat poured heavily on my neck.
“I may need to kill Anna.”
“Father, don’t do that! Anna may have been pregnant with my pup. It’s your grandpup!”
“Well, you will have Lisa too. You can have pups from Lisa.”
“Father, don’t harm Anna. Otherwise, I won’t forgive you!”
“I don’t want to harm Anna. But you forced me to do it.”
“What?!” I stood and shouted at my father. “You were the one who caught Anna, but you blamed me for that? Unbelievable!”
“Cameron, you have changed! Before you had Anna, you let nothing distract you from the pack and your preparation to be an Alpha. Yet, after you have had her, it’s as if you don’t care anymore about your pack or your future.”
“It’s not true, Father!” I took a deep breath. “Having Anna by my side helps me a lot in relaxing myself. I’m sure that in the long run, I will concentrate more on the pack and my future position as the Alpha.”
My father smiled. “That’s why I’m helping you. After your marking ceremony with Lisa, I will appoint you as the new Alpha.”
“And Anna?”
“What about her? She is your mistress. Nothing will change.”
“Father, if anything bad happens to her, I will hate you.”
“Son, you have been distracted too much. Focus on Lisa and your future. Everything will be alright in the end.”
“Not without Anna.”
“You will have her again, but not after the marking ceremony.”
I took a deep breath. “Fine! I want her back after the marking ceremony.”
But then my father squinted his eyes. “Not after you mate with Lisa.”
“What?! Lisa is Nate’s mate. I won’t touch her!”
“If you don’t mate with Lisa, she won’t be your mate legally.”
I shook my head, but then, somehow I thought of Nate. I could arrange for Nate to replace me. So Lisa would mate with Nate. No one must know other than Nate, Lisa, and me. So, I finally said, “Okay.”
