Chapter 70: The Past and the Present
I tried to move farther from Bill, but my hands and foot were tied. I couldn’t move elsewhere. His hand touched me everywhere. No, it couldn’t happen again! Why must I experience it again? Yet I didn’t want to show my distress to him. If I showed fear, it might satisfy him.
I still remembered what happened in my past life: the pain and devastation after he raped me. He hugged me, but I could only cry and curled like a baby on the side of the bed. He took away my chance to get a good husband because in the period, women were valued based on their purity. Though I lost the virginity out of my consent, it would change nothing.
After too exhausted of crying, I was asleep. When waking up, I saw Bill—no, he wasn’t Bill—the vampire stared at me and then he said, “Now you’re mine. I’ll make you eternal.”
He bent and bit my neck. It hurt, but it was nothing compared to the realization that came afterward. The bloodthirsty …. Then the screaming of a maid I pounced. The fear in her eyes … I could never forget it.
The vampire took away my virginity, forced himself into me, made me feel filthy for centuries. Most raped women ended as prostitutes because they had no choice. It was sad to think I considered being one, as I was desperate. But then I met Constantine …. It changed everything.
The touch of Bill’s hand on the private area between my thighs brought a deja vu, but as I remembered Constantine, ah, Cameron, it brought me back to the present. I wasn’t a vampire anymore. I was a werewolf. Though I was physically weak as an Omega, I knew I could do something. I would fight him!
Bill stared at me and smiled when I glanced at him. “We will visit the past later, but for now, I want to make you mine. This time, I won’t let you go! No one knows you are here, unless Lisa and the Psi. Lisa, for sure, Lisa won’t tell anyone. The Psi?” Bill grinned and shook his head. “I’m not sure she will dare to tell Cameron, either. Because if she did, she must tell him her role too to bring you here. It makes her an accomplice of kidnapping.”
I sneered and said, “Bravo! If you didn’t tie my hands, I would clap. What a great performance! Unfortunately, you’re only a coward who only dares to hurt a weaker one. In the past life and now, it’s who you are.”
“What did you say? A coward?” His eyes glared at me. Then he laughed and clucked his tongue. “I must admit you are smart, Anna. Being a werewolf suits you. To prove I’m not a coward, I will untie you.”
I held my breath. I could escape after this!
“Not so fast!” He grinned. Bill walked to the door, opened the door handle to show me it’s locked, and then smiled again. “I’m not a coward, but I’m not an idiot, either. I won’t let you go, Anna. As Victoria, the human, you were so sweet and fragile, too trusting. I knew little about your life as a vampire. Care to tell me?”
I shrugged. “Why not? What do you want to know?”
“How could you escape from my castle? Then how did you manage the bloodthirsty? How many people had you killed?”
The first question was easy. The second and third were difficult. I still found the fact I killed many people disturbed me. But I pretended it didn’t affect me at all. “Ah, I killed your maid and sucked her blood dry. Then I took the keys from her. It’s easy.”
Bill stared at me for a while, observing me. “The maid was the one who worried about you. She was trying to help you escape before I could have you.”
“Did she?” I asked lightly. I knew the maid was a good person. That’s why the realization that the first person I killed was her tormented me for centuries. “She was in the wrong time and place. It’s her fate to die.”
“Really? Or is it how you try to convince yourself?” Bill asked.
I shrugged again. “It doesn’t matter. Whatever I think, it won’t change the fact that she already died. I killed her, as I needed her blood to sustain my life.” Then I smiled and challenged him. “If you were a human, I would kill you too.”
“Ah, do you truly change?” Bill stroked his chin. “Then how did you manage the bloodthirsty after you changed into a vampire? I’m curious to know how many people you have killed.”
I laughed and shook my head. “Why? So we can compare our scores?”
“I want to know more about you because I changed you into a vampire. I was responsible for creating you as a new creature.”
“So? But we are no longer vampires. What’s the point of asking these?”
Bill touched my cheek. “I care about you more than you think. In fact,” he stopped for a moment, “I love you.”
Did my ears trick me? What did I just hear? “Love me? You love me?!” I laughed hard until my tears shed. “Are you crazy? I have met no one who loves someone else and rapes her. Maybe you must go to your Omicron to check your mind. I’m sure your brain is messed up a lot!”
“Victoria—”
“I’m no longer Victoria. I’m Anna.”
“Anna, listen to me. I truly love you. It was in my blood as a vampire to seduce someone. But I wouldn’t rape you if I didn’t want you.”
“Really? So you only raped those you loved?” I asked, raising my eyebrow. It was unbelievable, and honestly, I was enough talking with him. How could he dare to confess that he loved me?! Love me?!
“No, you were the only one, because mostly those women would gladly have sex with me. You’re the only one who didn’t want to do it.”
“But it didn’t stop you.” I took a deep breath. “It was the past. We can’t change the past, but we can change the present and the future. If you truly love me, let me go.”
