18 ~ Gift
Cassandra POV
Finally, now I was going to meet my people. I was so scared that Ryan might get suspicious of me but he agreed.
I was walking fast after cleaning my clothes and taking a bath. Many in the slave house were already sleeping and I was wandering toward my room.
Walking through the gallery on this dark night with almost darkness around I was feeling slightly scared.
After the breakfast, Ryan didn't call me and I was slightly happy because of it.
I entered my room and looked at Kate who was sleeping soundly. Shutting the door behind me, I took the candle in my hand.
Walking towards the trunk, I took out the cloth for a hidden message that I needed to send to my fiance.
Placing the candle on the floor, I started writing the letter. I wanted to inform him about my condition and I wrote about a proposal I wanted to make if he was still interested in the wedding with me.
I asked for the freedom from slavery for all my people from Castro's Kingdom in exchange of a wedding with me.
My plan was clear, I wanted my kingdom back. If he agrees to the wedding with me, we would create our new army and attack Ryan Castro's army. Meanwhile, I would search for his weaknesses here. In no condition, I could forget my brother's death.
I finished writing the letter and folded it neatly. Keep it folded in the trunk safely. I marched towards my bed.
Sliding inside the cover I tried to sleep as I had a really long and important day ahead. Honestly, I was scared a lot because if Ryan gets to know about my plan then I would be torn to pieces.
But, somehow I was able to see a soft corner in him for me. Like, he was so angry at times with me but still didn't kill me yet. It feels like we share a bond that has existed since its inception.
The attraction, the pull, the kind of melts coming into his diameter that I felt was enough to conclude that there were more sides to him than I knew.
With sides, I remembered that his people shifted to wolves. I mean, how? Why? Was it because of magic?
Before starting the war, I needed to know how powerful his army was and how many of the people could shift to wolves and most importantly how dangerous they were.
The thoughts made me feel slightly scared but I had to sleep as I had to meet the letter deliverer of our Kingdom tomorrow.
I drifted into sleep after some time and woke up on time with Kate.
After getting ready and doing my morning business. I walked to the kitchen. I had to serve Ryan before anything, also he was going to allot me an attendee who would take me to my people.
I took his breakfast along with the other two attendees as usual and marched towards his chamber. Climbing the stairs, we reached his chamber. The soldiers pushed the door open and I could see the darkness in his chamber.
My steps automatically turned slower as we entered inside. Trying to look at the things carefully, protecting yourself from banging into furniture, we kept the breakfast on the table.
"Lit the candles,"
I asked the other two attendees and they nodded.
We three walked towards the separate corners and lit the candles. The chamber turned slightly brighter and then I was able to see a little.
My sight fell on the bed and this time I could see him lying over it. I walked slowly closer to him to inform him about the breakfast. But, he seems to have some problems.
His forehead was sweating and eyelids wrinkled as if he was shutting them purposely. His lips trembled and eyebrows thinned in a row.
"Nooooo,"
He cried in his sleep and I instantly walked towards him. He was witnessing a nightmare.
"Ryan,"
I called slowly.
"No, don kill...mi...peeple,"
His voice trembled and not clear and his fingers fisted on the comforter.
Looking at him, my heart raced and a sharp pain occurred in my heart.
I held her hand and tried to wake him up.
"Ryan, get up, it's a nightmare,"
But, my words didn't seem to work. I forwarded my fingers towards his forehead and feathered slowly. It was scaring me a lot.
"Please, get up,"
His body felt like it was burning, insanely hot.
"Don... kill them,"
He muttered and I shook him to wake him up.
"Ryan,"
But, he was so stubborn to get up. I didn't know what to do. How to wake him up.
My heart was beating insanely looking at this condition of him.
I didn't know how to wake him up. Suddenly, my eyes landed on the water jug without thinking twice. I took and splashed the water right on his face.
He woke up in a jerk and looked at me. I was frightened to death. His shocked eyes with wet hair fell on the jar, I was holding and my trembling fingers noticed his anger left the jug which fell on the floor.
There was a shocked silence between us and suddenly, he yelled.
"Are you mad?"
He got up from his bed in anger and I took a step back forward.
But, before I could say anything to defend myself. He lifted me up on his shoulder and I yelled.
"Leave meeeeeeeeeee,"
"How dare you disrespect me?"
He gritted his teeth and I was scared as hell. I tried to throw my hands against his steel strong back but he didn't seem like it was affecting me.
In only a few moments he took me to a room and before I could realize what was happening, I found myself thrown into a huge pool.
The cold water instantly shivered my body as I sank inside the water. My breathing stopped with a sudden move.
I was scared to death, my nostrils pulled the water inside and I started throwing my hands insanely as I tried to swim. I felt as If he threw me inside the ocean. I couldn't find the floor below me.
I could see my death clearly.
But, before I could die, I found someone pulling me up and I started coughing insanely. Clearly the water traveled to the wrong pipes of my body and the tears fell from my eyes. I could feel my heart coming out as my breaths were denying to become stable.
"How dare you throw water at me?"
