Alanis
Alanis POV
Luna Kate is extremely kind and answers all of my questions. I know I must be asking a thousand questions about who and what we are. What type of wolves and what kind of power do we have? I know all of this is like having a child asking her a million questions, but I need to know. I thought I knew who my parents were, but now I find out the wolves that raised me were not my parents. It is a lot to take in at once, but Luna Kate is trying to help me through it as we go through her pack records.
"You can trace your family here, see," Luna Kate says as she points to a wolf record from her pack.
"So your pack is here with your husband's pack?" I inquire.
"Yes, it is complicated, but we are all here on one territory. At least for now. It is not working out all that great. Our wolf pack is quite arrogant and selfish. You are not like that, I can see, but many of us are. I was at one time. I had a hard time. I almost lost my husband and my children, but I found my way, and you will too," Luna Kate says.
I look at the door to see Luna Kate's daughter, at the door again. She has peeped in on us several times. "She is intrigued with you because you are like her. She can heal wolves and so much more. She has a gift like yours, Alanis. You have to learn to use it correctly," Luna Kate says.
"What did she mean by I am an elite wolf, I do not understand?" I ask Luna Kate.
"It is difficult to explain, but I can show you tomorrow. There is so much to show you about the spiritual realm and how we have ancestors to help us. We are not just wolves; and we are witches and vampires. We have a unique bloodline, and you are part of the line my mother and father helped create," Luna Kate explains.
"Vampires, witches, and wolves, this is a lot to take in at once," I say.
Luna Kate sits down beside me, her beautiful daughter Belle joins her. They both take a hand and then join their hands. We form a circle, and the three of us are connected. "We are one," Belle says.
I can feel the energy from them passing through to me. It is strong. "Alanis, you are so strong," Luna Kate says.
The door to the small room we are in opens, and a tall wolf comes into the room. "Luna Kate, I need to speak with you," He says. He stares at me for a moment.
"Who are you?" he asks.
"This is Alanis; remember I told you about her. She is one of us, Conrad," Luna Kate says.
He rushes to me and takes my hand. "Hello Alanis, I am Conrad. I am an elite wolf just like you. I would love to help you in any way I can. Consider me at your service," Conrad says.
He takes my hand and kisses the top of it. I do not want to be rude, so I let him. I look up to see my sweet husband standing at the entranceway. He clears his throat. "Conrad, It is nice to meet you. This is my husband, Alpha Sebastian," I say. I do not want Sebastian to be upset in any way.
Conrad looks embarrassed as he turns to introduce himself to Alpha Sebastian. "I meant no disrespect. We are from the same wolf tribe. I only want to be of service to her and you, Alpha," Conrad says.
"Of course," Alpha Sebastian says. I can tell he is a little pissed, but he handles it well.
Conrad leaves quickly but takes one last look at me and smiles before he leaves the room. "Nice to meet you, Alanis; I hope we speak again," Conrad says. Alpha Sebastian growls but quickly stops. He does not want to disrespect Alpha Erick or Luna Kate in any way.
"He is harmless, I promise," Luna Kate says.
"She is right. He is one of the few elite wolves Luna Kate has anything to do with. The wolves are here, all of the imperials, but the elite wolves, the ones that follow the weeping wolf, they are very different than the imperials," Alpha Erick says.
I am confused, and I am sure I look confused. "I do not understand any of this," I say.
"I promise you will. I plan to give you a crash course tomorrow, and if you still want me to, I can help you with your parents," Luna Kate says.
I look at Sebastian, my sweet husband. I want him to reassure me, but he is watching Conrad leave. Indeed he is not that jealous. He knows he has my whole heart, and I would never cheat on him. "Alpha Sebastian, what do you think?" I ask him.
Sebastian returns his attention to Kate and me. "Are her parents still alive?" Alpha Sebastian asks.
Luna Kate hesitates and then takes a deep breath. I know that there is a reason she is reluctant, and maybe I should walk away from this part of finding myself, but I need to know. I want to know where I came from and who my parents were or are if they are alive. Is it too much to ask?
"We can talk about my parents tomorrow. Maybe it is best if I do not know who they are or where they are," I say.
I get up and walk toward my husband. I want to be in his arms. I fall into him. I want to cry, but this is not the place for a Luna to have a meltdown. I feel a soft touch and turn around.
"They are alive, and I will take you to them tomorrow, okay," Luna Kate says. This revelation gives me hope.
"Thank you," I say.
"How about we get something to eat," Alpha Erick suggests.
Alpha Sebastian and I follow Alpha Erick and Luna Kate to the dining room for dinner. This has been a long exhausting day. I need to eat and sleep. Tomorrow I get answers.
