Chapter 116

The rogues sneaked into the royal pack that night around midnight after Xander and Clair had left early in the morning. By the time dawn broke, the rogues had surrounded the royal pack.

His father had already made sure that his mate (the queen) and the Xander's pups had already gone to Clair's old pack by the time Xander, and Clair arrived back home a few days later.

Even though he was still in his pajamas, the King had to hurry out and fight with his warriors. The troops were being organized by Michael (Xander's Beta and the Kings Beta). This took them all by surprise, so they were still on the offensive.

During the next day's fighting, some of the rogues brought some of the red dragons to assist in the fight. The King called the gold dragon king and asked for the favor the dragon king owed him, and the gold dragon king granted it. There were three warrior dragons that were sent by the Golden Dragon King to help in the fight.

It was King Alexander who sent his men to find and get the witches of the pack. They are not wolves, and the King cannot mind-link them. Beta Michael had requested reinforcements from several packs, and the reinforcements were now just in the process of arriving.

The Shadow Wolf Pack arrived on the scene in order to participate in the war. Zach, a long-term friend of Xander and a beta to the Shadow Wolf Pack, was out on the streets killing rogue after rogue. Amid all this chaos, Zach was astonished at how many rogues there were.

Zach was slicing the heads off of rogues and creating a path for his men to follow. As Zach breathed in, he could detect the most amazing aroma; it was the smell of cookie dough ice cream and fudge topping. It was Zach's curiosity that made him wonder who was going to be eating that out here. His curiosity was piqued at the smell, and for a moment he stopped to see where it was coming from.

As Zach turned around, his eyes immediately focused on the most beautiful female rogue that he had ever seen. Zach headed towards his mate, and she turned her head towards Zach while trying to slay one of his men. After Zach grabbed her by the throat and knocked the sword out of her hand, he grabbed some handcuffs from one of his men and handcuffed her. He instructed his man to take her to one of the cells in the dungeons. There was no hesitation on the part of the man as he took his mate and obeyed.

Zach had no time to think about his mate and what he was going to do with her after he had to leave. As of right now, he had to concentrate on getting the rogues off Royal land, as that was his focus.

The pack lands were on fire from the red dragons, and when the gold dragons came and started fighting the red dragons, the pack lands collapsed in flames. It is said that red dragons are the warrior species of dragons, while golden dragons are the diplomat species of dragons. As a result, watching the golden dragons fight so well was an exhilarating experience to witness. I think it is safe to say that these must indeed be the best warriors of the Golden Dragons, thought King Alexander to himself.

King Alexander was fighting two rogues off while unaware a rogue came behind him and stabbed the King in the back. This caused the King to fall to the ground as a result of the stabbing. When Zach noticed that his King was in danger, he looked in shock as he realized that he was several feet away from the danger. As he tried to run to save the King, he was slashing even faster, clearing the way even further. Zach sent a mind link to his men to head to the King and save him. He tried to run as fast as he could. After his parents were murdered, the King had been a father figure to him all his life after he lost both of his parents. As far as the King was concerned, he could not allow anything to happen to him. I was wondering where Xander was. What was the reason for Xander not being here?

Xantara and all of Clair's brothers were fighting there as well. When Xantara saw her father go down. She rushed to his side and began killing every rogue nearby in anger and hatred. Just like Zach she wondered where her brother Xander was. Xantara grabbed a couple of pack warriors and ordered them to get her father to the pack hospital immediately.

Invisible domes were created by the witches on the roofs to prevent other rogues from entering the royal pack. Using the dome, one can distinguish a rogue's scent from any other scent. So, the Royal Pack lands were only inaccessible to reinforcement rogues. Thus, only needing to conquer the current rogues fighting on their lands right now.

The King was being rushed to a local hospital. Doctors and Nurses were all around him, putting him on a gurney and hooking him up to IVs of blood. This is to replace all the blood the King has lost so far. He was not fighting in his wolf form; it might take a little longer to heal. The doctor looking at the King hoped the King was not as badly off as he looked.

When the King passed out, he was covered in blood and stab wounds. As if in a coma, the King was unconscious. As everyone feared losing their King, they were hopeful that the moon goddess would save him.

On the field, the Rogue King was hiding in the trees so that he would not be seen. His men fought for him, but he never engaged in combat himself. His brother was the one who fought with the other men against the king's army, not the Rogue King. He was going to kill his brother and become King of the Rogues if they won. His brother the current Rogue King was nothing but a coward and did not deserve to be King.

There was a lot of fighting throughout the night and many rogues were dying. There seemed to be an endless supply of rogues to fight. Despite the royal pack's best efforts, the rogues kept fighting dirty. Rogues carried vials of acid that they threw on their opponents to cause pain, allowing them to attack without much resistance.

Back at Clair’s old pack the Queen was upset that she the queen hadn’t shown up to fight. Then she felt a stabbing pain. It was her mate the King who was hurt. She could feel it through the bond between them. “I am leaving, I must go. I know you will take care of the pups. But my mate is hurt, and I need to get to him.” She had said that to Clair’s mother. Clair’s mother nodded and knew if it were her mate, she would do the same. Xander’s mother took off shifting into her wolf form as it was the fastest mode of travel.
