Chapter 35
Xander -
Upon reaching the castle, my father was mind linking me.
King Reynolds -
"Xander, have the staff take yours and Alexi's stuff to your room. I need you both in here right away!”
Xander -
"Will do. Is everything okay?”
King Reynolds -
"I will let you know as soon as you guys are in my office.”
Xander -
"That was strange Clair, my father just mind linked me sounding very concerned. He wants you and I to meet him in his office.”
As I pulled my car up to the front, I let the attendant take over, parking the car and unloading our items. Next, I take Clair by the waist and lead her into the castle. To my utter relief, none of the residents were present today. There is no way I want any more stray she-wolves impeding my mate and causing her to run away from me.
In fact, I am eager to show Clair to my twin sister Xandara. To my knowledge, I have never mentioned that I have a twin to my mate. Currently, my sister is pursuing her Ph.D. at the University, preparing to become a physician. Having recently graduated, she is on her way home to start her internship with the pack doctor.
"Clair? Did I ever tell you I have a twin sister? She has graduated from med school and is on her way home?”
Clair -
My brothers that are mated - they are married to twins. So, of course Xander had a twin, I wonder if this means she is Colt's mate?
“Does your sister like younger men at all?”
Xander -
I laugh at such a strange question, "I don't know, why do you ask?”
Clair -
I smile at the thought, I don't know why but I find it humorous, “I don’t know if you noticed, but each of my brothers that are mated, are mated to another set of twins. I am guessing if my theory is right that Colt is her mate. Thus, making her older than that of her potential mate.”
Xander -
I chuckle at the thought, I will get ahold of Cameron and ask him to keep Colt behind from Alpha school, just in case he is my sister's mate. I can train him how to be an Alpha, I decided, besides him and Clair did not have time to bond as twins.
Clair and I walk into my dad's office, his beta, gamma, and captain of the guard are there seated around the conference table in my dad's office. By the people who are in attendance, I know it is something important. My mother is sitting next to my dad, seeing Clair she jumps up and gives Clair a great big hug. Welcoming her to our family. My dad asks us to have a seat while he discusses what is bothering him.
King Reynolds -
“I had a conference call with Alpha Cameron today, and this is a mess. It seems the little girl that your twin brought to their pack is possibly a green dragon shifter. My Luna is going to hand out books on green dragons. I want you to notice that each green dragon in human form has a mark that they are born with.
The shape of the mark is like a tattoo, green and the picture it creates represents their family line. I had Cameron take a picture of little Rose’s birthmark, and it is green and shaped like a crown. As you can see in the book, the crown shape represents royalty. What idiots were Alpha Josh and Luna Rosie? It is a disgrace enough that they kidnap babies, but kidnap from a dragon royal.
That is asking for war. I have decided that we are bringing Alpha Josh and Luna Rosie to our dungeons. I want them cross-examined day and night until I get all the truth behind these kidnappings. I would like you beta and gamma to investigate if dragons burned down buildings in the peace pack. Now Captain of the Guard, I want you to get some soldiers, planning for the prisoners to be brought to our dungeons. I will also leave you in charge of interrogations.”
"Now Xander, Luna Clair, Luna Olivia, and I are going to contact the king of the gold dragons for help to contact the green dragons. Could you make an appointment to see the mate of the gold dragon as soon as possible, Luna Olivia? Tell him that my son and his friend are also coming along with you and me. Explain to him that we will discuss this issue once we arrive. Tell him to have the helicopter pad ready for us when we arrive."
Clair -
“The little girl, my brother brought to the pack; Colt’s sister is a dragon? I didn’t know Dragons still existed. Let me help in the interrogation, they had kidnapped my brother as well.”
The king look impressed that Clair wanted to help on interrogation, not many she-wolves can handle this end of pack duties. The king smiled and nodded yes.
Xander --
“Clair, there are unscrupulous wolves down there. I don’t want them looking at you, my job is to protect you, not let you go into the lions den!”
Clair --
If anything was to anger me, this did. I was raised a warrior by six older brothers. I glare at Xander. “Bring your most efficient warrior NOW!!! Don’t argue with me, just bring the warrior now. Have that warrior ready for battle with me!”
Xander --
“Seriously, you don’t have to prove to me anything.”
Clair --
“I said NOW!!!”
The King tried to hold back his smile; he liked that Clair didn’t take crap from Xander. Luna was proud of her as well. Xantara's parents raised their daughter the same way. These girls have Alpha blood and need to accept the leadership role when the Alpha/King cannot do so.
A few minutes later the head warrior walked in, looking wary at fighting the new Luna. Clair walks up to him looking him in the eyes.
Clair -
“If Xander has mind-linked you, telling you to let me have it easy, then I will injure you so bad you will never walk again! Do not hold back, I am dangerous, when other little girls played with dolls, I was in warrior training with my 6 older Alpha brothers. I will not let Xander punish you for really fighting me.
Do YOU UNDERSTAND???” The Warrior nodded yes.
I turn back to glaring at Xander, I walk up to him and looking him directly in the eyes. If you try to stop him from fighting, I will walk out of here and not return. You will not punish him for fighting. When I win and I will win, you will not be getting sex for a week!”
I kept a straight face even though she wanted to laugh seeing Xander’s scared face. I turned and started circling the warrior, I make certain they make the first move, I must see where the weaknesses are. Both of us circle each other in an offensive manner. I could tell right away; he wasn’t the top warrior. I was angry now, I did a flip over the warrior while in the air I grabbed my knives hidden in my pants and landed right behind the warrior with a knife pointed into each side of his neck.
“Xander, I am so P*SSED off right now it isn’t funny, we are sleeping in separate rooms. Now get the top warrior!!”
I look at this warrior and yell for him to get out!
Xander doesn’t say a thing, I see he is mind linking someone and it better be his top warrior, or I am going home.
This time a big hulky warrior walked in, he was more along the line of what a top warrior would look like, the question is, does he have the skills?
I look straight into the warriors eyes, “I don’t want you to look at Xander or listen to him, if he asks you to take it easy on me. I guarantee you in five minutes I will have you laying flat conceding your surrender.”
I could see the warrior trying hard not to laugh at what I said. His arrogance will be his downfall.
We circle each other and this time the warrior seemed more engaged in finding my weak zones as I am watching for his. A man’s strongest weakness is their undying need to protect women and their arrogance that a woman cannot possibly beat them.
I look at how he leans into his fighting stance. I can waltz forever in circles. I wait for him to try his move first. I think we do this for about five-minutes before he tires of it and starts to throw his first punch. First mistake never think your opponent will fight fair.
I used my gymnastic move that I used against the previous warrior, however this time I use my fingers trying to blind him in his eyes, he caught on and hit me in my side, however I did blind him in one eye, landing on my feet behind him.
I grab his arm instantly from his blinded side and flip him over onto his back grabbing my knives, sitting on top of him with my knives at his throat. He had conceded and I helped him up. Thanking him and telling him I will see him in warrior training. I let him leave and then glared again at Xander.
“Xander! I am your equal not your princess in distress. I expect to be treated like an equal!” Looking over to Luna Olivia I ask her if she would mind showing me were my room is. She smiled and winked at me, stating she would love to take me to my room.
