Chapter 69
Aurinax –
I just woke up, and I wasn't happy. I know it was just a dream, but I was treated like crap in my gardener's shoes. My rage has exceeded my ability to handle it. Rushing into my bedroom, I slam my bed with a hammer; I throw the TV out the window, and I keep going crazy until my rage dissipates and I fall asleep on my broken bed. My friends know to stay away from me when I get like this. This time my dreams didn't include pissed off gods.
I am feeling a little disoriented when I wake up and decide to go to the bathroom to take a shower as soon as possible. When I get out of the shower, I put on some boxer shorts and get dressed. Upon entering the kitchen, I am greeted by Jojó and Gary; they mumble hi and turn towards me. Amid staring at me, Gary drops the glass of orange juice and the glass breaks. Jojó simply stands with his mouth open catching flies.
"What is wrong with you guys?" I ask. Get a grip! Joey runs out of the kitchen and returns with a mirror. They placed the mirror before my face. I don’t recognize this guy in the mirror. I am thinking about what happened to me. My eyes just stare into the mirror. I can hear the voice of the dragon god. You will look ordinary... I keep replaying those cursed words from the Gods. As a zombie in a coma, I crawl over to the sofa.
“Man! Aurinax what happened to you?” JoJo asks in shock.
I can’t barely move or think I can only think of the word “Cursed, Cursed.” I keep repeating to myself over and over.
JoJo –
“Gary call the King tell him we need the pack doctor here, if the king gives you a hard time let me speak to him.” Gary nods his head and calls the Kings cell phone.
“Your highness, thank you for taking my call. Something is not right here.” Gary tells the King in a panic.
“Calm down son, what is wrong?” the King asks.
“Sir, we need the pack doctor. There is something wrong with Aurinax face, and he is not right sir, he needs to be sedated.”
“I will come with the Pack doctor to check things out myself. Just keep calm Gary.”
“Thank you your highness.”
Looking over at Gary, Jojo mouths thank you man.

Back at the Royal pack, I am trying not to giggle out loud remembering the pranks that Akira and I had pulled on the guys.
Along with my mate, I walk up to the podium with a few other wolves who are also going through induction. As I look at Akira, she is seated between Michael and Elanor with the biggest smile on her face. We exchange winks and we both laugh at each other. Michael appeared to be slightly grumpy. I guess he doesn't like having blue hair. A chuckle accompanies my laughter.
The King welcomes everyone to the ceremony today from the podium. Taking the stage with a golden knife and a cup, the elder stands before the audience. As I shiver knowing I must cut my hand, and I am leaving the safety of my brother's pack, a part of me is sad, and another part of me finds it an exciting new journey in my life.
The elder calls me to the podium and the king takes his hand cutting it with the ceremonial knife. I King Reynolds welcome you to the Royal Pack as a new member and future Luna. Do you promise to be loyal to your pack above all else? When the time comes to be the Luna do you promise to help the King lead the wolves as his equal? With this the king squeezes blood from his hand into the cup.
As they passed the ceremonial knife to me, I cut my hand and proclaimed, "I accept membership in the Royal Pack, and I pledge to be loyal and equal to my mate as a Luna and Queen." I squeezed some of my blood into the cup, and we took turns drinking the blood. I feel the link I have had since I was a child break and the new one begin to form. It is almost overwhelming to hear so many voices at the same time. I smile and give the King a hug as he takes on the next inductee.
Once all the inductees leave the stage we follow and enjoy the activities. Xander was a little bit grumpy with his color of hair, but I did try to get most of it out for him. I must look out for Xander’s retaliation now. He doesn’t have me fooled, acting all cool and nonchalant He should be more upset, and he is not. I see the impish glint in his amber eyes.
I know this seems a tad childish, but sometimes you need to let go and have fun. I have been nonstop busy stress can pile up, that is when having fun like a child is important.
Next weekend is the mating ceremony/my wedding/Luna – Queen ceremony. Xander and I take over the kingdom.
Off towards the back of the party someone is on their cell phone letting the rogue king know what was happening for the next couple of weeks in the palace gates. He didn’t’ need to disguise as he was someone high up and had no fear of being caught, because no one would ever suspect him.
Yes, everything will be fine next week. Once the ceremony is finished, I will ride with the future king and queen. It is my duty to ensure that the gates remain open during this time. Nothing will slip through my fingers during this time. After you have killed the new king and queen, will they release my sister? (Pause for the rogue to answer)
NO! As soon as you killed the New Royals, you promised me you would release my sister to me. We will see each other next week." The mysterious person in cahoots with the rogue king throws his phone against a rock building, shattering the device into a million pieces.
