Chapter 94
As I'm trying to figure out what might be bothering Chrissy so much, I ask her what I did that I am in trouble for. I ask her why she is so mad at me. Keeping a firm grip on her, I don't want to let go of the bear hug I have tightly wrapped around her.
Chrissy –
"You know what, why don't we talk nice to each other about this? I would like you to go ahead and let go of me now that you and your buddies are safe from me."
Jackson Hunter ---
It wasn't certain if I should let her go yet, but she seemed to be calmer, so I decided to let her go. My decision was to slowly release her from my grasp, and I made my way to my seat as I slowly let her go of my hands. BAD IDEA, Chrissy has an angry smile on her face. It seems like she has taken something out of her pocket and thrown it directly at me. That are some of Jessica's underwear that were in the penthouse when she was in there. As I toss them to one of the guys, he drops them like a hot potato on the floor.
In an attempt to open my mouth, she threw the chair on the floor and left, slamming the door behind her as she did so. As soon as she grabbed her bodyguard, she was gone. I leapt over my desk and the chair she threw on the floor and ran out the door as fast as I could. There was already an elevator on the way to the lobby, which had already left. The thought of this is freaking me out. As I ran down the stairs and outside, I could see her driving away with her bodyguard in the car. I am being tormented by my wolf.
“You lose her Jackson, and I will leave, and you will no longer be an alpha!” My wolf retreats to the back of my head.
I try talking to him, but my wolf is ignoring me. Great! I think to myself. I call my driver and tell him we need to follow my mate. I have trackers on all my cars, and they report to my phone and my iPad. I see that she is not headed to the airport. I feel relieved by seeing that on the screen.
Once the driver picks me up, I follow the map on my phone to her location, which is a restaurant owned by wolves, her bodyguard who is also one of my best friends must have let her know a good place to eat. I am so glad I selected him as her bodyguard, he has made it easier for me to catch up with them.
Bodyguard –
“Thank you for letting the driver take us to this place to eat. I was so hungry, and this is owned by wolves, so we are free to talk. The food is amazing here, I hope you enjoy it Luna.”
Chrissy –
“One I am not a Luna! 2. We do not have a pack any longer for him to take over.”
Bodyguard –
"You are mistaken, Luna. Many wolves escaped that night, including my parents and me, and that is where you are wrong. It was because of the logo for the Shadow Wolf pack that we were able to find the Alpha. It is what we came to achieve, to convince him that he is meant to put the pack back together, that this is what he was meant to do.
Let's talk about the fact that you are angry right now. The she wolf with that underwear is Alpha's stalker. While he was absent, she tried taking over the company under the Delusional impression he was going to make her Luna. She has tried to run him over with a car, beat up any woman that talked to him, putting them in intensive care. He had to come back to get her and cage her. Now he is having to rehire the people she fired and make the company look normal again. She had everything painted purple. The woman is a psycho. You see none of us that work for him have Alpha DNA, and little Miss Psycho does. Jackson was the only one who could get her under control.”
Chrissy –
It was not until after the guard had shared his information with me that I sat down with my thoughts. I tapped my water glass with my spoon unaware that I was doing that. There is no way Jackson Hunter is not going to get off so easily. The fact is that he took off without telling me face to face that he had done so. In the end, he did not disclose any of this information to me. In my opinion, he should have confided in me and not run away from me since I am his mate.
I was clearly still in my own thoughts when I smelled the amazing scent of musk and pine forest needles. I love that smell; I knew it was my mate standing next to me. I pulled myself from my thoughts as Jackson was asking permission to sit at my table.
Jackson –
Walking up to the table, I saw my mate deep in thought. Chrissy, please let me explain, I think to myself as I hope she does not reject me. Coughing, I try to get her attention. To give us a few minutes of privacy, her bodyguard, my friend, went to the restroom.
“Is it alright I sit down?” I ask sheepishly, not wanting anything to be thrown at me again.
Chrissy –
“It’s a free country, you can sit wherever you want.” I laughed inside myself as I could see how frightened he was.
Jackson ---
Thinking to myself, yep Chrissy is still mad. I look up and I notice that the waitress is someone who used to flirt with me. Great, another reason for Chrissy to distrust me. She walks up to the table, notepad in hand ready to take my order.
Waitress ---
“Hey Jackson, cutie. Are you having the same thing?”
Chrissy ---
Okay to say I am not jealous would be a lie. Which is why I just spat at the she-wolf in front of me.
“Do you often disrespect Alphas by calling them by their first name?”
I could see the waitresses hands tremble, her face turning red ready to retort to my accusation of disrespect to an Alpha. However, Jackson cut into our conversation.
“Lorna, I apologize I haven’t introduced you to my mate Chrissy. Lorna yes I would like to get the same items I always get to eat. Thank you Lorna.” Thus, I was dismissing her. I saw Lorna turn and glare at my mate. Now that I could no let happen.
“Lorna do not glare at my mate. Do understand?” I hear Lorna sigh; she nods her head and goes back towards the kitchen to put in my order. Looking at my mate I still had a very angry mate to explain things to.
