God, he thought, he really needed to maintain a distance. She was his P.A for Pete's sake. Why was he feeling this way over her? She was beautiful, yeah but he had seen women that were more beautiful and sexy than she was. Maybe it's because it's been a while since he was with a woman. She had caught him red handed while he was ogling her. And her laughter, it was as beautiful as she looked. How could someone look so beautiful naturally?. He continued to look at the exchange between the two women without a word. He was amazed at how easy Carla made it for people to like her. " Okay okay. Where do we begin? Let's see " Amanda said thoughtfully. She got Carla settled in and soon Carla was familiar with almost everything related to her work. Liam's daily schedules, meetings, business dinners, contacts and unfinished business deals. She was a fast learner, Liam noticed. If there was one thing he loved about ladies, it was her intelligence. Carla was obviously a genius and he liked that. Amanda left after promising to be back in the afternoon to check how Carla was handling her new job.

They worked in comfortable silence until Liam asked for a particular file.

" Miss Reeds, will you please get me the file containing the deal with Arnold's International? We have an unfinished business deal "

" Sir, I can't find it here, let me check the drawer behind you. It may be there " Carla said after searching for two minutes.

" Okay " Liam replied without thinking twice about the implications because the moment Carla came over to him, he realized what he was in for but it was too late. He adjusted a little, to give her room to stay behind him. From his peripheral vision, he saw Carla bent, searching for the file in the drawer below. In the process, her ass looked bigger and her skirt shifted higher, giving him a view of her thighs which were smooth and white. Immediately, he felt a strain on the front part of his trousers. He needed to get his brain checked up. His phone rang, snapping him out of the dreamy look he had on his face. He checked the caller ID and groaned. It was his Mom again.

" Hey Mom " he said tiredly.

" Hey baby. What's wrong? You sound tired ". Diana asked, concern showing in her voice.

" Nothing Mom, It's work. I'm just tired, that's all " he answered

" Really? Or are you going through a hard time concerning a particular contract? " Diana probed further.

" No Mom. I'm good, trust me " Liam laughed.

" If you say so. Uhhh.... Your father wants to see you at the family dinner tonight. He invited the Randrulfs, including their daughter whom he would like you to meet " Diana dropped the bombshell.

" What on earth is wrong with this man?! God, I really want to kill him so much " Liam gritted his teeth, eyes blazing.

" Calm down, Liam. Your father just want to see you happy , that's all " Diana said pleadingly.

" Don't tell me to calm down, Mom! This man is trying to dictate my life for me and I fucking won't accept that! " Liam shouted, not minding the look Carla was giving him. He honestly didn't care if everyone knew about it now.

" Language, Liam " Diana cautioned, her soft tone gone, replacing it with a harsh, steel like tone.

Liam continued like he hadn't heard her, " I'm sure the old man has an arranged up his sleeve and I fucking won't accept that! " He repeated, still in a loud voice.

" Calm down, baby. Your father is just trying to do what will be good for you, can't you see?" Diana begged, not minding that he repeated the 'f' word even after she cautioned him.

" No Mom. I'm done being Dad's puppet. I won't dance to his tune anymore. He has dictated my life for me enough " He vowed, ready to fight his father if he had to.

" Son, please listen to your father, he loves you " Diana pleaded with him.

" Uh oh. A father who loves his son dictate his life for him, huh? A father who loves his son wants him to get married to a lady he knows nothing about? Stop Mom, You and I knows this old man do everything for his selfish reasons. And about this, there's nothing to talk about, I'll bring the woman I wanna marry, the woman I love, he's not going to choose for me " and Liam meant every word.

" Okay son. I love you"

" Yeah I love you too, Mom " he managed to say before slamming his phone on his table. He was tired of all these, really. He looked over to where Carla was and she was fidgeting with her fingers. He knew she was feeling uneasy that she had shamelessly listened in on his conversation with his mother. He would have to give her an office. He didn't think he could resist temptation for a while longer. The longer they stay in the same office, the more the temptation to bed her arises.

" You were listening in on my conversation?" He asked, raising one eyebrow.

Carla's nose flared and she stared Liam down, not giving a fuck that he was her boss. " I beg your pardon sir but I had no choice " she balanced her hands on her hips, ready to give him a piece of her mind if he wanted to transfer his aggression to her. Liam was surprised that Carla talked back to him without batting an eye.

" But you should have left the office when things got kinda heated up with the person I was on call with " He said accusingly. He knew he was being childish but he wanted to vent, needed to vent.

" Excuse you" Carla flared up, getting annoyed now. " Where was it stated in the contract I signed that I should walk out of the office whenever you're on a call? Stop throwing a tantrum, it's ridiculous " she finished, rolling her eyes.

Liam couldn't believe that Carla just talked back to him like he was some kid. He was surprised, women had never treated him that way before. They worshipped the ground he walked on but this little spitfire was different. He was being ridiculous, he knew but he was too annoyed and frustrated.

" Oh okay it's fine. You can get back to work " He scratched the back of his head, his face flushed. He went over to his seat and had hardly settled down comfortably when his phone rang again. Damnit, he thought. Why was his Mom calling him again? He sighed and considered not picking up but he couldn't do it.

" What's it again, Mom? " He said immediately, not bothering to say Hi.

" Sweetheart, I just had a talk with your father. I kind of talked your father out of making decisions for you about the marriage thing and he said the only way he can let you off the hook is to bring your girlfriend to the family dinner" Diana let out a deep breath she seemed to have been holding up.

" What?! But I don't even have...." Carla's face suddenly popped up in his mind but he quickly discarded the thought.

" Okay Mom. I'll bring her along with me " he told his Mom anyway.

" Okay son. See you later. I can't wait to meet her! " He could tell she was excited. Well, he couldn't blame her. Liam dropped his phone and thought of what to do next. He couldn't possibly ask Carla, could he?

The rest of the afternoon went by peacefully and Liam was thankful for that. He was still worried about who was going to be his date later in the evening though. He looked over where Carla was and sighed inwardly. She was so engrossed in her work that she didn't notice her hair had fallen over her face. Her chest rose and fell in soft rhythm. She seemed tensed, as though expecting him to throw a tantrum again. He doubted if she had lunch yet, it was past lunch time anyway. Amanda came in and the office seemed to lighten up a little.

" Good day sir "

" Good day Amanda " He replied formally.
