Sixteen months later
“Hey, baby.”
I couldn’t help but smile. Who would have thought I could be this happy and contented with life? I had a thriving company. I had friends, families, and my baby Rae. And my parents turned out to be good as best friends.
And my husband, my best friend, my lover, my anchor. God, how could I be so lucky to have a man like Gabriel Linden?
“I’m on my way home. Where are you?”
“I’ll be home in one hour. I’m still at Osmium. Do you need anything?” Linden’s company had three times more employees and opened two HQs in Dubai and Qatar. I was so proud of him. No matter how busy he was, he made sure to have time for me and his daughter.
“Nope. Just checking how long you would be home.” I took over the chairman chair from my dad, but I always got so excited to go home to him and to be with our baby.
“Why?” There was an excitement in his voice.
“I could wait a few minutes in the tub. I thought you might wanna join me.”

“Is that a no?”
“When did I turn your offer down? Thirty minutes, baby.”
“Well, it depends if Baby Rae will not fuss.” I bit my bottom lip as I waited for his reply.
“Don’t put my daughter to bed until I’m home. I wanna play with her.”
“Alright. You play with her while I’m in the tub.”

“At least you have choices, Gabriel.” The car just parked. “Just arrive home. See you later.”
“Estelle?”
“Yeah.”
“Wait for me, and then I will play with my baby later and put her to bed. Is that a good counteroffer?”
“Good, baby. Love you.” I hung up the call.
After I cleaned up, I went to see my one-year-old daughter. I was still at the door, and she was already grinning at me, showing those tiny teeth.
How could I work and leave her at home? I didn’t know, but my heart and mind were always with her. Sometimes, I brought her to work, and she had a space with a playpen in my office where she could play with Striker and London’s baby boy. Maybe I was doing it for her future.

She babbled, her eyes lit up. She got her father’s eyes and her hair. She earned her nose, the shape of her face, and her skin from me. No matter how she looked, my love for her would never be less.

Linden cried for the first time when he had Baby Rae in his arms. My heart melted watching how our daughter instantly became his world. Since then, I had no doubt he would be a great father.
I changed Rae to my other breast. A few minutes later, she dozed off. I carried her to burp. She just did it right away.
“Good girl, baby. I’ll put you down, and I will come back later. I love you.” I kissed her forehead before I put her in her crib.

I checked Linden in our room. He hadn’t arrived it. I went to my bathroom and stripped off my clothes. I prepared the bathtub, filled it with water, and poured a good amount of soap. Then I sank, rested my head, and closed my eyes.
I missed wine. It was said that it was safe to drink a small amount of alcohol and at least not to drink before breastfeeding, but I couldn’t take any chances.
I inhaled something different, a familiar manly scent. Then I felt a soft kiss on my shoulder.
“You put her to bed, and you’re soaking without me.” He ran her nose over the column of my shoulder to my neck.
“You’re late, Daddy, and you’re in charge of feeding her tonight and diaper changing.”

I chuckled as I moved to give him enough space. When he sunk down and spread his legs apart, I rested my head on his shoulder and looked up at his handsome face. “Touch me.”

“Yeah, but not twins.” He looked at the picture of my ultrasound today.
“Yeah, about that. I’m sorry.”
“Are you kidding me? I’m beyond happy. You made me extremely happy. I can explode like stars right now.” He pulled me into his arms and hugged me tight. “Thank you, baby, for making another dream come true.”
“We did it together, Gabriel.”
“I know, but you didn’t say no. And thank you for telling me right away. This is such amazing news. I couldn’t wait to tell everyone.” He kissed me on the lips. “I love you, Estelle. So fucking much.”
“I love you, too, Gabriel. I’m glad I went to that Island and met my soulmate there.”
