Chapter 48 REVERSAL

Pastor Melvin returned to the University of Science to pursue his Masters Degree, and also with the intent of being close to Sobrina.

He had stopped attending WUCC unknown to Sobrina. But because of her, he visited the church from time to time. Sobrina only noticed he was no longer as committed as he used to be.

Their relationship wasn't a secret in the church. Pastor Melvin made sure everyone knew they were dating. The only place they met was in church, so they were seen from to time sitting close together lost in conversation.

Sobrina decided to perform a 'reverse ritual', in order to be completely free from Devil worship.

Pastor Melvin wasn't in church that faithful Sunday, he had worshiped at a different church and was secretly beginning to battle with his feelings for Sobrina, who was now a committed member of WUCC. He was also battling with having to attend double services, against the advice of his new pastor, every Sunday, and because of Sobrina.

Sobrina who was deeply worried about him in the midst of all that was happening called his cell phone number. He decided to lure her to his house by refusing to take her calls.

It was her manner to go searching for him at his place whenever he started acting mysterious, like that, or if they had a fight.

He was certain she would definitely come to his house, since his phone had rang repeatedly.

Sobrina arrived at his door as expected, few minutes after his phone stopped ringing repeatedly.

Pastor Melvin was seated on his large mattress, which was placed on the carpeted floor. He was dressed in a black trousers and white polo top, and leaning his back on the wall.

Sobrina sat like a lady, on the only chair - a back chair - in the room. She was putting on a white gown on black skirt. In tears, she confessed about all she had done. She exposed her 'charms' to him, and the medium through which she had been luring people into the occult using the Internet.

She had over one thousand converts on the internet. Pastor Melvin had to be the first to know, because he was her 'spiritual father' among other things.

She also wanted him to direct her on what to do.

He confessed he wasn't surprised to hear about all she had revealed, but he did not elaborate. He instructed Sobrina to gather-up the rest of every occultic material in her possession, and that they would go visit Reverend Saul the following morning.

"Do you have any marks on your body?", he gently questioned.

"No", Sobrina responded.

"Soby, are you sure",

"Yes, except the mark on my stomach left by the surgery I had, there's no other marks on my body"

"What if I took off your dress?", Sobrina was alarmed. It was one thing to inquire as to if there was a demonic mark on her body, as it was a popular knowledge that some secret cults gives their members secret identification marks. But a man thinking about taking off her dress? Now, that was a call for alarm.

They were alone in his room, but it had been many years of being alone in the same room without any form of body contact, and Sobrina trusted him completely. She therefore concluded that there must be a good reason for the question, even though she couldn't see it.

"Soby, what if I took off your dress?", he barked. There was a hint of forceful demand and hungry longing in his voice. Sobrina had wasted time contemplating in surprise.

"Why would you want to do that?", she snapped in anger, her feelings visible in her eyes. This was the worst time to be considering taking off of dresses. She was trying to turn totally to God, and was sure he understood that, above any thing else.

Pastor Melvin visibly sighed, relaxed, and resumed leaning backwards on the wall. Sobrina therefore didn't think negatively concerning his absurd behavior. At best, she thought he was testing her resolve, given their history.

"Have you ever been raped?" he gently questioned after some seconds.

"No", Sobrina responded with a small smile, she had also relaxed. She was recollecting all she had experienced at Lagunde Island.

When Sobrina slept that night, she had a vivid dream. The Devil came to her.

"If you do this, I will make sure you never amount to anything in your entire life, I will ruin your life so badly and publicly you would be a laughing stock, I will make sure you die miserable, lonely and by suicide. I will definitely destroy you Sobrina!".

She awoke in a state of panic. She shivered, but her life was already in shambles, Devil worship had not been all it had promised. The sacrifices weighed more than the gains. The message had become more enticing than the experience.

The dream confirmed it the more, she was supposed to be able to leave whenever she wanted. No, she would leave. Her mind was made up. She was certain God would be capable of keeping her, it was a chance she was willing to take.

Pastor Melvin accompanied Sobrina to Reverend Saul's, he performed hours of teaching and exorcism on her, her Satanic material were destroyed, she was also led to renounce the Devil and her Demons; the "reverse ritual" had been done.
