Chapter 62 CONSPIRACY 103
Osano was grateful Sobrina had left her husband, he had in fact not only adviced her but had also impatiently accompanied her to the market to sell her wedding invitation cards. Now, his hopes of having her had returned.
Pastor Davies had once told him - in trying to hook him up with Sobrina - that things could happen to bring about the will of God, encouraging him in his desire. Pastor Davies was hoping to use his feelings as a weapon, if it became necessary. It was now clear to him that he had to help the lady - the one Pastor Melvin had attached himself to - acquire him, her brother was a pastor - and his senior - in a similar church-cult such as he ran, was all over his head about the matter.
Pastor Davies was living recklessly among his pretty female members. He had slept with, and deflowered many of them. He had once tried to seduce Sobrina but had failed, she had decided to wave the incident aside like it never happened, and dared not speak about it. He had also deflowered the lady in question, in a holy sex, during her first degree. And eventually getting initiated fully into his cult - the underside of Gracedome. His allegiance lay with her.
Now, Pastor Melvin acted like he had taken pity on Sobrina. Like he had seen the dangers of his actions in the ways her personality was disordered due to what he had done. Sobrina in turn thought that the love he had for her had deflated the hate he had displayed. He was chasing after her, begging for forgiveness, and pretending like he was pushing away the other lady, in the process. He even started kissing her over the phone after at the end of every phone call, and she finally believed him.
"Soby I will never hurt you", he promised, it wasn't the first time he was making such a promise, but he was very convincing. "If there's anyone out to hurt you, it's not me", he pleaded. Sobrina began to give in to his pleas. After all, he was the love of her life, it was a miracle that they had a second chance. She sincerely believed that his intentions were pure. She wasn't aware that he no longer owned himself, not anymore. He had sworn allegiance to the brotherhood, and had become heartless after partaking in their communion. He had gained seriously from the brotherhood when they had helped him acquire a job, he was now heavily indebted to them.
He invited Sobrina to his house one evening after a thorough cleanup. He had taken time to make sure the tiles were shinning, and that everything was glittering in there place.
"Why are you so malleable towards me Sobrina?", he questioned after she took her seat. He was acting all jolly, he lay on his bed, casually, watching her. "Did you understand my question?", He gently demanded. Sobrina had taken a minute to think about how to respond to the question. Judging from all that had happened, leading to this moment, she decided to go seat by him on the bed.
"How about I show you?", she questioned, as she climbed over him and tried to kiss him.
"You're too close", he protested, and struggled in refusal.
Sobrina arose, confused and frustrated. If he wouldn't kiss her, why then had he been acting like this? She quietly returned to the chair she'd been sitting on by the door.
"Soby I've known you going on 9 years now", he began, while sitting up now, on the corner of the bed. "I know everyone in your family, from your parents to all your siblings, we even attend the same church", he continued. "I've been a father, a mentor, and a brother to you, in the past. And now, I wish to give you something", he concluded.
He had previously questioned her a week ago, during a chat on social media, about what kind of soap or body lotion she was using. He therefore gave her two toilet soap, a used bottle of perfume, and a bottle of deodorant named 'Sure'. Sobrina had gone back to being poor after she had left her husband a few months ago, she no longer had the luxury of perfumes.
"I will let you know when it's time for marriage Soby, I will also block you on all Social media so we could be free emotionally, and I am to report to Pastor Davies about anything that happens between us. From text messages to anything else, for the purpose of transparency, accountability and to keep you safe. Soby, now we can go public with our relationship", he concluded.
"How about Miraya?", Sobrina questioned with a shaky voice, filled with emotions. Miraya was the lady-pastor he had gotten attached to.
"I will never marry her", he swore in response.
Sobrina was excited, he had given her money, books and messages in the past, but never symbolic material such as this. She saw it as a great sign and an awaiting formal marriage proposal. She hugged him, they played around a little and he led her off.
Sobrina treasured the little things he had given her. She thought he was trying to control things between them, so they don't fall into sin.
Now, the die is cast. Miraya had traveled to her brother's during the period when it happened. She returned to the University to find total confusion, and was mad in anger as Pastor Melvin expected.
Miraya's fears had materialized. She contacted Pastor Davies and complained to him in tears. She contacted her brother - Pastor Sheddy - whom she had previously informed about her relationship with Pastor Melvin, in case of necessity, and he, in turn, called Pastor Davies with warnings.
Pastor Davies who had also previously confirmed Miraya's claims to her brother - his superior - promised to make things right. He had prepared for such an occurrence.
Meddling with the cult, or failing in a given assignment was not without great consequences. Pastor Melvin was new in the cult, but he had received every necessary orientation and should be well aware that he couldn't get away with messing with another lady - definitely not Miraya of all the ladies - and still keep the woman he loved. He wouldn't get away with the job they had gotten for him in the University, and do as he wanted, or destroy all that had taken him years to put in place in Gracedome.
Pastor Davies not only gravely feared Pastor Sheddy, but also what might happen if Pastor Melvin actually succeeded in getting married to Sobrina. The veil covering the eyes of the stupid ladies, who did everything including secretly prostituting while thinking no one suspected, and keeping sugar daddies in the bid to look their best in his church, would be lifted. They would understand that brothers who dated and slept with them in the church, preferred purer ladies such as Sobrina, who had brought a new standard to the church, by actually facing the Lord, in spirit and in truth.
No, Pastor Melvin would be warned, and redirected at once.
