Chapter 106 Revenge
It did not surprise her that Bert was not at all annoyed by what she said, but listened to her attentively.
Bane sniffed, trying to control his tears, and gave a wry smile. "My father doesn't believe me. He says I'm a liar..."
She let go of her hand and did not hold on to Bert.
Bane bowed his head, tears welling up on his face.
Bert had seen her worst, anyway, and she did not mind her worse now.
'How stupid!
"He sneered.
"Yeah, really stupid..."
That's really stupid!
Stupid dead!
"Why did you just tell him the truth? How could you be so stupid?"
Bane paused.
Then Bert put his hand on Bane's head and rubbed it.
"Alas, it seems that your intelligence quotient all do not pass through the brain."
Then Bert drew back his hand, and said, "Get well."
Then he left the room, leaving Bane behind.
By the next day, Bane was no longer lying down. All his wounds were well treated, except for his ankles, and he was able to walk with the help of crutches.
Myron takes Norton and Sophie to Bane, but he tells the children about a fall, and Norton and Sophie are so trusting of Mom and Dad that they fall for it.
Sophie's eyes turned red when she saw her mother doing this, and she said she would come over every day to blow on it for her mother. "Sophie will blow on it for her so it won't hurt," she cried.
Seeing this, Bane kissed Sophie on her cheek.
Norton's little face was drawn, obviously distressed, but unlike Sophie, he only looked at her for a moment, and his eyes turned red.
Bane gently comforted Norton, "Norton, there is nothing wrong with mom. It won't take long to recover. Don't worry."
Norton wants to hug his mother, but he is afraid of hurting her, so he tightens his mouth and says, "Mom, I'll tell Dad to get the best doctor."
Bane smiled and said, "Mom wasn't badly hurt. Your father has sent for the best doctors to treat Mom. Mom is really fine, but Mom has two requirements for each of you, and I hope you can do it."
Norton and Sophie nod quickly.
"The first is that Mum has stopped cooking for you lately, I need to recuperate, Norton must eat his meals well, and Sophie must keep an eye on her brother."
At this, Norton's face went white.
Sophie nodded quickly, saying, "Mom! You needn't worry! I promise I'll keep an eye on my brother!"
Bane smiled. "Well, Mother thinks Sophie can keep an eye on her brother, too, but what about Norton? May I promise my mother?"
Norton looks puzzled, but nods.
"It's lovely! Then I will say the second requirement, that is, you can't pester me after class, don't often come to me here, and every day to finish the homework."
Norton's and Sophie's faces lit up at this.
"Mom! I want to stay with you, please don't do this?"
Sophie, who had been raised in an orphanage, was horrified to hear her mother say this.
Bane did not try to comfort her, for she would have to make up her mind. After all, she was bound to leave Sophie sooner or later.
"Sophie," she continued, "you're not old enough. You need to be independent, you know? Mom can't be there for you forever."
'No, I don't, I don't want to be separated from Mother!
Sophie shook her head violently, clutching Bane's hand.
"Sophie, Mum won't leave you, don't worry!" Bane coaxed.
'But why didn't Mother let me come to you?
"Because Sophie has to learn to be independent, like her brother."
Sophie's little face was puzzled. Her eyes fell on her brother. "Like him?"
Norton is also puzzled.
"You should be independent like your brother, because your father likes it that way."
Bane pulled out a lie.
Bert was appreciative of Sophie's coquettishness, but she had to prepare the ground for it, so she had to say something against her will.
Anyway, sooner or later, they have to leave, let them get used to it, maybe... It wouldn't be so sad.
"Is that so? Does Dad like independent kids?"
"Yes, that's right."
Norton didn't think so. He could see his father's affection for his sister, but his mother's serious look made him wonder if he was wrong.
Dad doesn't like his sister to be clingy?
"Then Norton, take care of your sister."
Norton patted his small chest and assured, "Mom! You may rest assured that I shall take good care of my sister."
Bane suppressed his bitterness, smiled, and kissed both Norton and Sophie on the cheek.
From that day on, Norton and Sophie did what their mother told them to do. They didn't run to her right after class. When it was time for recess, they went back to their rooms to sleep without being reminded.
As he watched it all, Myron felt the young man and the young lady suddenly grow up a lot.
For obedient children, it is naturally attractive, so Myron did not say to find out why.
Bane's injuries were nearly healed, and she walked without crutches, and sometimes Bert would come back and look at her, but would sit there for a while and then go away.
One day Bert appeared suddenly in her room, inquired after her wound, and, after making sure it was all right, said directly to Bane, "Change your clothes, and I'll take you out."
Bane looked surprised. "Where to?"
"You'll see when you get there."
"But...... But I..."
"No buts."
"And Bert took her away without giving her a chance to speak.
Bert drove to an upscale image-design store and pushed Bane toward the clerk. "Give her something to carry around."
Bane took a moment, then said, "Wait! Bert Ron! Where are you taking me?"
"I have a boring party over here."
"Then why did you take me with you?
"Don't talk so much. Come with me and avenge you."
"Revenge?
Bert's mouth curved. "I'm sure you like it," he said. "But now shut up!"
At this, Bane felt her mouth shut. The man was too angry for her.
Because she still had scars in many places, she wore a gown with long sleeves and a layer of lace, which showed off Bane's figure perfectly.
