Chapter 109 Remember the Pain
"You are a wretch! Bert, you must not be deceived by her. She is wicked enough to disobey and enrage her father. There is no good in her!"
Seeing that Betsy could hurl so innocently at her, she suddenly had a bold idea in her heart, and she did it.
She leaned a little closer to Bert, and, feeling tiptoe, kissed him on the cheek. "Bert," she said softly, "he's a pain in the ass. Let's go."
Betsy went straight stiff, her eyes wide and her face in disbelief.
People around to see this scene, immediately in an uproar.
Bates felt Bane hit her hard in the face. She raised her hand to slap Bane, but Bane took her hand.
She grabbed her wrist, pulled it, and pulled her to her face. "You'd better leave me alone," she said in a low voice, "or I won't just take your man, I'll take everything you have as well."
Hearing Bane's words, Betsy's face was full of confusion, because she felt guilty, so she spoke out with little confidence.
"Bane Reed, you... Don't be so smug! Father is already mad at you for running away! I'll tell him you've taken my betrothed too! '
"Oh? Are you sure? Betsy Reed, have you not robbed me of my key ring?"
With those words, Bane released Betsy's hand and straightened himself up, his face innocent, as if nothing had happened.
Betsy felt so cold that she could not speak.
Bert looked on with surprise, and then gave him the first faint smile Bane had ever given him.
She was both arrogant and proud, with a haughty expression on her face, like a torturer, and her delicate and pretty face matched with such a resolute look, which did not contradict her at all.
It was the first time Bert had seen such a gesture.
He chuckled and said, "Let's go."
Bane's triumphant demeanor was gone when she got into the car. Her brow furrowed and she put her hand quickly to her ankles.
Even though she had been helping Bert, she could not stand for long.
"Does it hurt?"
"Pain."
"That this pain, you want to remember well."
'What?
Bane's face was puzzled.
"You should be avenged on the one who brought you this pain!"
It took Bane some time to understand what this meant.
The next time Betsy came to the farm, her face was all mad, and she wasn't the only one. Rosa and Aki were there, too.
Standing by the curtain, Bane saw his father, who seemed older and already using crutches, while Rosa, at his side, held him, her face full of eagerness, making his father look even weaker.
Bane couldn't help feeling a little distressed.
For her father, she has always respected, even if their own father is not him, she is willing to call him as their own father, even if it is with their own future, but also to save him.
However, she pay all the more, the final exchange was "unfilial" two words, but also gave her a hard beat.
Bane smiled, his eyes bitter.
Myron was trying to stop the men from going in, but Betsy Reed was crying so, and Mr. Reed was looking at him so eagerly, that he began to be troubled.
But at that moment Bert arrived.
Bert got out, and as soon as they saw him, they went up to him as if they had found a patron.
Bert shunned her hand, saying, "Go away."
"Bert," said Betsy, "will you help my father? I beg you to help my family. Our Reeds' chain of funds has suddenly been broken. You must save us."
Archie Reed looked expectantly at Bert, but he said nothing. The old face was gone, but it was impossible for him to ask any more.
But since Akica was already Bert's father-in-law, it was only natural for him to help.
Bert's face was cold, and he looked up just in time to see the curtains drawn, and a smile came over his face.
"Come in."
Bates, with a look of joy at the prospect, went after him, and was about to take Bert's hand, when she caught his eye and withdrew it.
She had no idea that Bert would let these people in, and so she had no time to avoid them, but stood in the drawing-room.
When they saw Bane, they were stunned, too.
Aki was the first to react. His face was full of anger, and he hit the floor hard and said angrily, "Bane! Why are you here? Why don't you go home? !"
Bane pulled his mind back, suddenly felt that the father in front of very strange, for a moment, unexpectedly did not know how to deal with.
Bates looked at Bane, then at Bert, and a bold thought struck her. She clenched her teeth and pinched her thigh violently, and the tears began to flow again.
"Sister! Can you do such a thing? Who do you like? Unluckily want to rob a man with own younger sister!"
Rosa lost an appreciative look when she saw Betsy's performance.
Aki was stunned. His lips began to tremble. "Bane, did you really do such a thing? You...... How could you bring yourself down like that?"
Bane burst into a self-deprecating smile. "Father," he said, "I didn't say a word and you believed her. I tell you, I didn't do any of that, but you don't believe it and you punish me by family rules."
Aki was stunned.
Betsy didn't want to expose that. Fortunately, her father didn't trust Bane at all, so she preempted him to take her side.
"Sister! Don't you talk nonsense! You did something wrong, will take the initiative to admit the mistake, you and dad apologize, dad will certainly forgive you, you don't repeat one's mistakes!"
Bane paused for a moment, then burst into laughter, laughing and tears streaming down his face.
"So what am I going to admit?"
This sentence, let all people are silent.
Bert went straight to the couch and sat down, languidly and casually, as if he were in control.
Rosa didn't think it would be a good place to make a fuss, so she said, "Bane, you'd better come home with us first. This is your brother-in-law's house. How can you stay here? This is out of order."
