Chapter 138 Do You Believe Me
"Bane, you're clearly being set up. The file you saw, it's not where it was. Have you decided what you're going to do?"
"Whatever happens, I'll have my revenge!"
Now she longed to cut Aki to death by a thousand cuts. She also hated being blind and letting her mother killer be her father for so many years.
"You can't act now. The man who put you in bed with Ward Jonathan had an agenda, and you're going to have to get that information if you want Akey Reed convicted."
Bane let out a deep breath, which had suppressed the panic. She calmly stood up and said, "Sister Nora, I have to go back."
"Bane, how are you now?"
"I've adjusted myself, I'm going back, I've got to find out about it quickly, and as for... Ward Jonathan, I will confront him and clear up this misunderstanding."
"If you can use me, tell me, don't always carry yourself."
Bane smiled at Anne, his face full of gratitude, and after leaving Anne's house, she went back to the Hall.
Now a whole day had passed since the appointment with Bert to register.
Naturally, they failed to register.
As soon as she got back to the Hall, she found Bert sitting in the drawing-room, his face gloomy.
Bane's heart went up in an instant.
Bane made his way slowly to the living room, calling cautiously, "Bert..."
Bert held up his head, a touch of sarcasm in his eyes, and said, "Huh? Did you come back? I thought you didn't want to get married, so you ran away."
"No, you misunderstand."
"I was expecting you yesterday afternoon, Bane Reed, and you're getting stronger and stronger, aren't you, getting up late again? Bert, it's the first time I've ever met anyone who would do that to me!"
There was no warmth in his tone. Bane had not heard such sarcasm in a long time.
"Yesterday... Something happened, and we got delayed."
Bert's face cleared a little, and he said, "Where were you yesterday?"
"Something happened to Annie, so I went over. I'm sorry, my phone was off and I didn't notice."
Bert stood up. "What happened?" he said.
"It's no big deal. It's all right now. You don't need to do it."
Bane suppressed his panic, but there was still no color in his face.
Bert saw Bane's face look so ugly that he reached out his hand, only to see Bane back sharply, obviously frightened. Bert's face turned ugly in an instant.
Bane quickly realized that he was getting too excited, so he quickly explained, "I've been working all day and I'm tired now. I want to go to my room and get some sleep. If anything happens, we can talk about it later, okay?"
Perhaps it was because Bane really looked so bad that Bert let her go and rest without stopping her.
After a few steps Bane stopped short. She had a sudden desire to tell Bert what had happened. She wanted Bert to know it, but was afraid that she and Bert had not yet trusted enough.
"Well? Didn't you go to your room to sleep? Why is it stopped here?"
Seeing the puzzled look on Bert's face, Bane suddenly wanted to tell Bert.
"Bert Ron, will you always believe me?"
Bert frowned. "What are you talking about?" he said.
"I... I just want to know... Believe me or not."
A touch of eagerness came to Bane's eyes.
Just then Bert's cell phone rang, and Bert pointed at Bane to indicate that he had taken the call first, and Bert stepped aside to answer it.
At last Bert's face was black with blood, and his voice was cold. "I hate treacherous men! Get it over with! I don't want to see that man again! '
Bane swallowed the words that rose to his lips with a cold sweat on his back.
Finishing the conversation, Bert looked at Bane again. "Do you have something to say?"
Bane shook his head. "There's no rest for me," he said.
It was the next day after Bane woke up, and she was relieved to know that Bert was away on a business trip and would not return for three days. She was really afraid that Bert would see the traces all over her.
In three days, the marks on Bane's body will disappear.
She was really worried that Bert would not believe her, even if nothing had happened to her and Ward.
After all, according to Bain, there wasn't much trust between them.
Bane was still in a state of confusion, but she still wanted to make sense of the day, and Ward Jonathan was the best entry point, as you can imagine.
By the time she was brought in, she was unconscious. Where's Ward?
What was his state?
Bane has been afraid to guess, but the idea of those mess must be in her mind, especially the mother was a key to harm the matter, let her almost collapsed.
"Mom, are you thinking of something?
At the sound, Bane's thoughts came back to him. Seeing Sophie's worried look on his face, he sighed. "Mum's not worried."
"Mom, you just have been in a daze, I all shout you shout a few times, brother also shouted, you didn't hear, mom, do you have anything on your mind?"
"No, mom has nothing to worry about, and mom talk about your fun things at school."
With a big smile, Sophie told her mom about kindergarten.
Norton, on the other hand, could see that something was on his mother's mind, but he didn't say it directly. Instead, when Sophie wasn't looking, he pulled her finger and whispered, "What were you doing last night, Mom?"
Bain froze for a while, way: "your godmother there have a little matter, I went there."
'Is the godmother in trouble?
Norton's little face was filled with worry.
"It's nothing difficult. It's all settled. Don't worry."
Norton is on the point of believing it, but he catches Bane's fluster. He hesitates and says, "Mother, if you're in any trouble, just tell me, and I'll help Mother, come what may."
A warm feeling fills Bane's heart when she hears Norton's words. She gives him a hug and says, "Well, Mom will."
Because of Sophie and Norton, Bane suppressed the last panic in his heart, and his heart became more and more determined.
Just as Bane was wondering what to say to Ward, Ward called.
