Chapter 176 Pray for Mercy
"Are you aware that she has a baby inside her?" Bert's voice was indifferent, and there was no sense of joy or sorrow.
But the more this happened, the more terrible it seemed to Wilson.
He lowered his head for a moment and dared not say more.
Bert put his foot down.
The screams came again.
'I was wrong, I was wrong! Ah! I know!"
He had no choice but to answer.
But this remark struck Bert as counterintuitive.
He stamped on him with one hard, direct step, and Wilson fell to the ground.
Bert kicked and kicked him several times.
When he finally saw him dying, he stopped.
"Send you to castrate."
Bert spoke faintly, as if to say a most common thing.
"No anesthetic."
He wanted him to see it. Tom's nether parts went cold, but he didn't say much. That's the way it's supposed to be with people like that.
...
Bane wakes up and lies in bed, seemingly oblivious to anything in the outside world.
Her eyes were glazed over and she did not know what she was looking at, but when there was any movement outside, she felt frightened.
They all knew what was going on. They couldn't calm down after something so terrible had happened.
Bert paid good money for the best caregivers.
But Bane was like a snail now, tucked into her shell and hiding whenever anyone outside touched her.
She had trouble even eating, and had to take liquid nourishment almost every day.
Bert could not bear to see her slowly fail, and brought the children with him.
Over a month.
The children were pleased to see Mammy again.
Sophie saw Bane lying on the bed and made a conscious rush to enter.
But Bert held him fast.
"I'm going in to see Mommy, you let go, daddy's bad, I'm going in."
Sophie's tears fell instantly.
"Don't scare your brothers and sisters when Mommy has a baby in her belly."
Bert carefully wiped her tears, and then he spoke softly.
Sophie paused, still a little confused.
Nearby, Norton is stunned.
"Daddy, what do you mean?"
Norton clasps his hands and begins to speak.
Bert nodded. "It's your brother and sister. Don't frighten her."
Norton comes to himself. Through the window, he sees Bane leaning against the bed with his eyes glazed.
"Daddy, what's wrong with Mommy?
"After encountering danger to their own protective response, you be careful, go to get the mother up, or it will affect the subsequent treatment of the mother."
Bert looked at him carefully and chose not to lie.
Sophie sobbed even more bitterly. "Daddy, you are a liar. You said you would take care of Mummy for us and leave Mummy alone.
Sophie's chest heaved so violently that she couldn't stop crying.
Bert suddenly squatted down and looked at her earnestly. "I'm sorry, Sophie. I didn't mean to."
It was the first time he had ever said sorry to a child so seriously.
But now he didn't know what to say.
Bert took Bane straight to the paternity test the moment she got back.
The child was indeed his, and only now did he realize how wrong he might have been.
He was so angry at the time that he chose to be suspicious in the first place.
But now he knows he may have been very wrong.
"Daddy, you promised me you would take care of mommy, but you haven't done it."
Again Bert said he was sorry. This time perhaps he was really wrong, and very wrong too.
Norton didn't say anything more. Instead, he looked aside at Sophie and led her back into the room.
Carefully, carefully, the two children pushed the door open.
Sophie wanted to pounce, but Mammy's body was too thin for her.
"Mommy... I'm Sophie, Mummy's here, Mummy..."
Sophie's voice broke as she spoke carefully.
At the sound of Sophie's voice, Bane finally responded. She turned her head slightly.
After a moment there was a faint voice.
"Sophie..."
Four simple words, but it was the first thing she said in a long time.
At the sound of Bane's call, Sophie burst into tears as she ran to the bed and hugged her.
"Mommy, how are you now? Do you feel anything wrong? Mammy, I miss you so much, and if you don't want Sophie anymore, if Sophie is doing something wrong that makes you angry, you can tell me and I can change it."
Bane's glazed eyes suddenly became focused as he listened to his daughter's sad tone.
Slowly, she looked back at Sophie. She reached out to touch him, but she couldn't.
"Norton."
Bane looks sideways at Norton again.
Norton can't resist it. He jumps straight at it. "Mommy."
Bane didn't feel alive until he actually saw them.
Because of the presence of the child, the treatment after Bane has been relatively smooth.
The doctor was also surprised when he saw this. Before this, Bane almost rejected everything, but he didn't expect to be able to adapt so quickly.
Sometimes I really feel that maternal love is really great.
Sophie and Norton stayed with Bane for the next few days, and he was expected to leave the hospital soon.
They just need to rest at home.
Bert rushed to the hospital at once when he heard the news.
Bert had never been to the hospital before, and if there was anything he needed, he just asked Tom or Jick to come.
It's still morning and the children haven't come yet.
Bane was sitting quietly in a chair in the backyard when Bert arrived.
The sun fell on her, and she looked thinner than ever, like an angel who had stumbled into the earth.
Her stomach had grown a little larger now.
Bert walked slowly up to her, and Bane heard voices behind him, but did not care.
Bert went up to her. "I have dealt with those who have wronged you. The man is no longer a man, and the couple have paid you back in double for what you have suffered."
Bert said faintly.
Bane said nothing.
But when I heard the two couples and the man, my body unconsciously trembled a little.
A flash of fear flashed through her eyes, an instinctive reaction.
When Bert saw this, he felt a pain in his heart for no reason. He must have been deeply hurt to have this stress reaction.
And it's his fault that he didn't protect her.
