Chapter 178 Start Over
When Bert came back he found her sitting in a chair with the two children by her side, and children was listening to her stories with great rapture.
They were obviously so warm as a family, but at the moment he felt like an outsider.
Bert stood where he was now, not knowing for a moment whether he should come near or go away, and yet not wanting to go away.
The young master seemed to have softened a little since his wife's arrival, and at times he noticed that he was smiling more often than not.
But how could a tall family suddenly become so?
Myron didn't know what was going on, but it wasn't good to see them.
Soon after, Sophie and Norton fall asleep to Bane's stories. It's windy outside, and the boys fall asleep before being carried back to their room by a servant.
She was about to get up and go back into her room when she saw Bert not far away. She paused and took a step back.
Bert saw her involuntary action, and was about to get angry, when he saw her flustered, and his heart pained for no reason.
Maybe they should have a good chat.
Bert walked slowly up, but as he came up, Bane backed away again, and he had her back into a corner.
She looked like a frightened rabbit, and unconsciously tried to run away. Bert picked her up sideways and went to the sofa inside the pavilion.
He carefully placed her on the sofa and sat her down.
She knew she could not get out, so she sat down, but never daring to look him in the eye.
Bert sighed helplessly, without forcing her. "Can we talk?"
Bane said nothing.
"What do you want me to do?
He did not like her appearance, and it hurt him as well as her.
"Bane, can you tell me?"
There was a subtle note of supplication in Bert's voice.
Bane's lips moved, and after a long pause he said in a very small voice, "I... You didn't do anything wrong. I didn't know what to do."
Bert paused, saw her shoulders shake, seized them, forced her to face him, and found that she was already sobbing.
Bane didn't want to cry, but she couldn't hold back her tears.
She really doesn't know how to talk to him now, she doesn't know how to face him.
Blame him?
She did not want to deceive her heart, is to blame.
She knew very well that if he had wanted to, he would have found her by now, and she could not blame him for a few minutes.
Such an insult made her feel dirty.
Even though she knew it was wrong and wrong, she could not help it.
There was trust between them, and maybe it was completely broken while they were on the boat.
She was afraid, and her courage vanished with her leap into the sea.
"Bane."
Bert forced her to look him in the eye. Bane had tears in his eyes. She looked at him, not knowing what to say for a moment.
He gently wiped her tears away and gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek.
"How recently more and more love to cry, in case the future of the baby also so love to cry how to do."
Looking at his gentle appearance, Bain finally did not hold back, the grievances of these days all cried out.
"You believe me? I really haven't done anything wrong..."
The injustice of these days in his gentle, finally routed.
Her original heart has been a kind of uncomfortable feeling, can see his tenderness, she after all is not to hold back, tears keep falling down.
"He said softly.
"I didn't protect you. I'm sorry. It's all my fault."
Bane began to cry and it took him a long time to calm down.
Bane leaned against him for a long time before he took a deep breath. "Bert, I want to get out of here, alone."
Bert gritted his teeth. "Impossible."
With those words, Bane felt suddenly relieved. She had been thinking about the question for days, just not sure.
"Bane, I won't allow you to leave."
His eyes were red as he held her by the shoulder.
Why did she dare to say that openly?
"I won't agree to that."
Bane took a deep breath. "I'm tired. I want to leave."
When Bert heard this, he could not bear it. He got up and pulled her to her feet.
"I said I wouldn't."
He bowed his head and kissed it hard, tossing and turning, a little chastened, a little angry.
Bane just looked up and didn't notice or respond, just like a puppet.
Bert's heart sank.
He rose slowly.
Bane's face was as rosy as an apple, but her eyes were dull and long gone from their old shame.
"Bane, I won't agree to that."
There was a hint of menace in his voice. Bane paused, turned away, and ignored him.
Since she said this sentence, every day was a lot of bodyguards in the dark staring at, simply can not go out.
Bane pretended she did not see him, and if Bert came to her, she pretended he did not exist, or occasionally responded with a word or two.
She had expected that a man so proud would soon give up, but she had never expected him to persist.
Even when I was working, I would let her accompany me.
Burt has decorated the back garden to make it feel warmer than it used to be, with blankets, soft treadles, and a bookshelf with books and stress-relieving gadgets.
Bane did not know his purpose either, but she said nothing but nothing, as if he would give up some day in this way.
Bert sensed what he was thinking, but he did not force her to do anything, and when she returned she had nightmares and was not in the best of health.
He was afraid that if anything went wrong, the baby would really be lost.
evening
Bane had that nightmare again.
She dreamed that everyone was dead and that she was the only one left in the world.
Norton, Sophie, and Bert, all dead in front of her, nothing visible in the misty surrounding area.
She sat up in the middle of the nightmare, gasping for breath, her whole body wet with sweat.
A moment later she was suddenly aware of the sound of steady breathing next to him, leaning against the bed.
