Chapter 222 Piano
Bert knew the words were cruel, but he could not help it. After all, the road ahead was only crueler.
He can't protect him forever, and if he's a loser, he might as well give up.
He didn't say anything to Bane about this, though, because he knew it would hurt her.
"Bane, he has to be strong to protect himself. He can't rely on us."
Bert sighed.
Bane nodded. She knew.
'But there is one thing I will say. If he is in any danger, and cannot defend himself, you must help him.'
"That's for sure. He's my son. What do you take me for?"
Bert chuckled, and Bane nodded with relief.
With that settled, Bane asked for more information. Her main concern now was whether the men had been caught.
"Now have checked a little clues, but can not be accurately located, the other side is too cunning."
"Can you solve it?"
Bert nodded. "It just takes a little more time."
"The manor must be protected."She wouldn't let anything happen to Sophie.
Bert was surprised.
She is usually the most dislike manor bodyguard, did not expect today she will take the initiative to come out.
"I don't want me and the kids to be used as leverage against you."
It'll remind her of what happened on the island.
Bane doesn't expect to live a normal life, but at least she wants her children to be safe.
"You won't be a threat to me."
Bert flicked the corners of his mouth.
You will only be the top of my heart.
Bert could not help thinking.
"I have something for you."
Bert seemed to think of something and spoke faintly.
"Huh?"
Bane was surprised.
"You'll see."
There was a hint of mystery on Bert's lips, and in the evening Bane saw a fine piano being carried into the villa.
"You..."
Bane looked at the piano without thinking for a long time.
Bert had already ordered the piano, but he had never had the right opportunity to give it to her.
He had been ready to do it, after hearing what she had said in the box.
But then a lot of things happened and he forgot.
"Do you like it?"
Bert spoke softly.
Bane went to the piano and touched it. It sounded clear and pleasant.
She felt it and immediately knew it was worth a fortune.
"Why did you..."
She had never said anything to Bert about it, and she had never shown it since her mother died.
Bert told her to sit down and try.
Bane looked at him with mixed feelings.
"Actually, I have."
"Oh?"
"Piano Concerto, Chapter two."
Bert opened his mouth with a faint smile.
"How do you know?"
Bane exclaimed, her eyes welling up with a flood of memories.
"I was there."
Bert chuckled, and Bane nipped his lip, a memory she had always been reluctant to mention because it seemed to her.
The memory was like his last dignity, and she could accept sympathy from anyone but Bert.
Bert lifted her chin suddenly and gently, forcing her to look at him.
Bane looked into his dark eyes, and for a moment he didn't know what to say.
There was a mixture of emotion in his eyes, but there was nothing called sympathy in them.
"Bane, the piano is my gift to you, not a pity offering."
Bert's voice was so gentle that she could not refuse a man like him.
Bane blushed and could hardly look at him.
NORTON gritted his teeth and shouted in his heart, Mommy, don't be deceived by a man who plays with women's feelings. These words were clearly written in the book he sent me.
And on top of that, dad learned the ropes.
But he quickly thought of Sophie, who would be so happy to wake up and see mommy and Dad patched up.
He really misses her.
NORTON sighs, and instead of exposing his dad, he just wants to grow up so he can protect mommy.
Bane stroked the piano in front of her with a complicated look that she had learned from her own mother.
Because of her mommy, she first had the idea of learning piano and finance.
I learned piano to make her happy, and finance in the hope of earning money to see my mommy.
But Mammy did not wait for her to make money.
Bane slowly laid his hand on the piano, and Bert's heart beat a little faster for no reason as he watched her.
Bane sat at the piano like an angel, with a smile on her lips that showed how happy she was.
There was a light in her eyes, like a star.
Alan, the housekeeper, was pleased to see it, for the atmosphere of the house had been particularly depressed by Miss Sophie's events these days.
Madame, in particular, has lost a whole circle of weight and is not as energetic as before.
Now he was glad to see her so happy.
Bane played a song and turned suddenly to look at Bert.
"Can I play it for Sophie? The child also loves piano very much, if heard, must be very happy."
She looked somewhat agitated.
For days, Bane and Bert had been trying to figure out if there was something, or a chance, to wake Sophie.
But there has been no improvement, although they did not say anything, but only they know how desperate heart.
So now, given half a chance, they won't give up.
"But the piano can't be moved to the ward."
"It's okay, just record it, record it for Sophie."
Bert nodded.
There was a light in Bane's eyes. She seemed to have life, something different about her.
She began to wonder what Sophie had once liked best to hear.
She went to look for the music. Then practice it over and over again.
If it was just for mommy's pleasure before, now it was in the hope that her daughter would wake up.
She had never loved the piano so much as she did at this moment.
She was really excited.
Hopefully, when Sophie hears this, she'll react.
It pained Bert to see Bane's excitement. If it hadn't been for him, it wouldn't have happened this way.
That's why he's going after those guys.
Bert's eyes cooled at the thought.
