Chapter 37 Encounter
Bane called Anne and asked her to bring Sophie out and they went to a children's restaurant to celebrate her arrival.
Sophie, too, was overjoyed. Ever since she had returned home, her spirits had risen, better than in the hospital, almost as healthy as a child's.
Anne greets Bane as she eats. "So you're an employee at Lakeen Ventures now?"
'That's right!
Anne held up her thumb. "My Bane is good," she said. "You don't have to worry about me.
'Yes, please Nora!
"You and I polite what ah, my home or you give me!"
"Then she helped Sophie with some dishes.
Bane smiled, for Anne Nora's past, she did not know, but from Anne's style and temperament, she was definitely not an ordinary woman.
Since she didn't want to mention it, Bane certainly didn't. Annie had become her family, and trust was essential.
"Oh, almost forgot, I have contacted the person, he will help with this, but he can't just show up, so you have to call first."
For a moment Bane forgot what Anne was talking about.
"Don't you remember? Anne leaned her head closer and whispered, "Looking for Sophie's father."
Annie's voice was low, but Sophie heard the words and the hand stopped short, holding the fruit.
Aniston felt ill, regretting that she had mentioned it at such a time.
But Sophie recovered quickly and, without saying anything, went back to eating the fruit.
Bane, with a mixture of pain and relief, whispered, "It's all right, Nora, Sophie and us."
When she first found Sophie, she kept asking her father where he was, and when she asked him more, she seemed to understand something and stopped asking again.
Anne sighed softly. 'Bane, you're only in your twenties, and you're so good-looking, you could use another one.'
Sophie was listening to the conversation with her ears pricked up.
Bane reached out and pinched Sophie's cheek. "Sophie," he said, "what are you doing?"
"Mom, will you find me a father?" Sophie asked, her eyes twinkling.
Annie chimed in. "Yeah, Bane, you're working so hard. You'd better find another boyfriend."
Seeing the expectant look on Sophie's face, Bane did not refuse outright, but merely nodded faintly.
"Bane, what a coincidence to meet you here."
A familiar voice came to my ear.
Bane turned and saw Ward and Manya.
Bane was surprised at the coincidence.
Manya hid behind Ward, secretly glancing at the beautiful sister, and then looked at her cousin, and began to tease her: "What a coincidence, cousin, you were secretly following me!"
Anne saw Bane's look, and then Ward's gentle eyes as he looked at him, and understood. "Oh, you're a friend of Bane's," she said quickly. "Why don't we sit together?"
Ward waited for this sentence, and took Manya to sit down. In case Bane suspected, Ward explained with a straight face, "This is Manya's favorite kid's meal. I didn't expect to meet you here."
Manya: What's going on?
"Isn't that right, Manya?
"Ah... Yes, I like it."
Bane didn't suspect it, but he looked uncomfortable.
Sophie lifted her little head to look at Ward. She had a small strawberry still in her mouth. She bit hard, pouching, and swallowed it. "Who are you, Uncle?
Ward also looked at Sophie, his heart aching. The child had been fathered by a woman he liked, but he was not the real father.
But he did not show it, he was so gentle, he understood that no one can blame.
"What's your name, little friend?"
"Sophie, I'm Sophie Reed."
"Hi Sophie, your mother is a friend of mine. My name is Ward Jonathan. You'll call me Uncle Jonathan from now on."
Similar to Manya, Sophie was always attracted to good-looking people.
It was impossible to dislike Sophie as sweet and sweet as she was, and Ward, who loved Bane as much as he loved his dog, was even more unusual for Sophie.
Anne rolled her eyes and tugged at Bane. "Bane," she said, "would you like to introduce your friend?"
Bane shook her head helplessly and introduced Ward. She was surprised to learn that Manya was Ward's cousin, but she was quickly struck by another point.
"Are you the president of Lakern?"
Bane looked very ugly.
Ward quickly guessed what Bane was thinking and simply admitted, "Yes, but I didn't hire you for our friendship. I hired you because you could, and I knew it."
Bane gritted his teeth. "No, I'd like to change..."
"Bane, do you really want this?"
Bane said nothing.
Ward was sad, especially when Bane tried to get away from him.
"Bane, I know what you're capable of, so I believe in you. Your skills can be best used here at Leckern. You can get back into finance as long as you have a stepping stone, and Leckern's stepping stone is absolutely the best."
Bane knew this, but what she couldn't change was that she had to rely on others.
Bane was about to refuse when Anne winked at her and shook her head, as if you weren't taking things personally.
Bane's back bent at once, he could not act impulsively...
LL: Well, it's hard to find a job, but if you do, you won't find a better one than Lakern.
Ward began to wonder why he had followed him, and what he had lost if Bane had refused.
He wanted to see Bane every day, but there was another reason, and that was the real strength of Bane.
Sensing something ominous in the atmosphere, Sophie reached up and pulled at his sleeve. "Mom, are you angry?"
Bane responded, "No."
Then he looked at Ward again, smiled and said, "I'll try."
