Chapter 50 The Crisis at Josey’s Company
Anne smiled. "The child Sophie must have had too much fun and too little rest last night. She can't stand it."
Bane's heart pained at her failure to take care of Sophie.
"Sister Norah, thank you very much."
"Why are you being polite? I'm Sophie's godmother and I'm supposed to be taking care of her. You're the one working the hardest. You've lost a lot of weight. '
Joosey was in a critical period, so Bane had put his heart and soul into it. Bane had been losing a lot of weight on himself, and a lot of flesh on his face.
"It's all right, let's go back first."
They gathered their things in their bags, and Sophie, held in Bane's arms, was about to go home, when suddenly a telephone call came from Jory.
Anne took Sophie in her arms voluntarily, and Bane quickly answered the phone.
"Hello."
'Miss Reed! Big deal! Perhaps, perhaps everything will be lost..."
Bane looked grave. "What's the matter?" he asked.
"Our capital chain, gone!"
Bane's face went white and he almost fell off in a trance.
'What did you say?
"Some people in the company do false accounts, the capital chain has been lost, there are already 60 percent of the user loss..."
Jory could not say the rest. He could not speak.
"Don't worry, wait for me."
Anne could see that something was wrong with her work, and she knew it was a big one. "You go," she said quickly. "I'll leave Sophie to you, and I'll take care of Sophie."
Bane looked at Anne with a guilty look on his face, but she was really anxious and could only say helplessly, "Sister Nora, I'm sorry for your trouble. I'll be back as soon as I'm done."
As they left, Bane kissed Sophie on the cheek before hurrying off to Josie's.
Jory, who had been waiting at the office, saw her and handed the ledger to Bane with a pale face. "You can have a look."
As soon as Bane got it, he looked through it, his face growing worse.
This was the worst defeat Jory had ever experienced. There was no time as desperate as now.
If he did not see hope at the beginning, he will not be so desperate now, after all, only one step away from success, as long as the successful financing on the listing, actually in the last mistake.
"I should have thought... Those people would have stopped me, because I didn't protect the people around me. I was careless."
Jory crouched down slowly, his face full of remorse and anger.
Bane's face was very white.
Now that there is no funding chain, to put it bluntly, Josie has gone from seed to seed and is out of the running, and those VCs are not going to invest in the company, nor is Lakhan.
"What on earth have you not told me?
Jory paused for a moment, and then said, with some difficulty, who he was. "I'm sorry, Miss Reed, for wasting your time and energy with me. I'll make it up to you."
Jory felt really guilty about Bane, too. It was his fault that he had kept it secret, that he had kept the luck in his heart, that he had thought that investment would lead to success.
"Compensation doesn't solve everything!"
Bane's eyes were misted now and her hands trembled slightly.
She had put so much effort and time into it that she failed at the final level, and on top of that, her career would have been a failure.
No one will trust her any more.
Jory smiled wryly. "It's my fault, but... But what can I do? The Searles wouldn't let me get up at all."
Bane looked at him carefully. "Going to give up so soon?"
Jory raised his head abruptly. "Miss Reed, is there any other way? Are there any other VCs willing to invest in us? Will Lakern invest?"
"No company wants to invest!"
Jory's head dropped again. "There's nothing to be done."
"We still have a chance!
'Miss Reed?
Bane took a deep breath and said, "If you'll just believe me, there's still a chance."
Jory was shocked that Bane wasn't ready to give up under such circumstances. He, the head of Josey, had said he was going to give up, and Bane was still trying to turn it around!
'Miss Reed, do you really want to continue losing money in your business at Lakerne?'
Josie today, if you invest in it, you're going to lose money, and no venture firm is going to want to take that risk.
Bane continued, "Then get this business going!"
Jory rose at once, his face serious. "Miss Reed, what can you do? I'll certainly do as you say!"
Bain simply said, "Bring the launch date forward!"
Jory was stunned.
It didn't take long before Ward called Bane over and said, "Josie's cleared. You go get the others!"
As Ward quickly learned about Josey, the company was too bad to qualify for incubation, and there was no point in wasting energy on it.
Even all the energy and effort that Bain had put in front of it would have gone to waste, which is quite normal in the financial world.
"Boss, please give me some more time," Bane insisted.
Ward's brow furrowed. "You should know, Bane, that Josey's no longer qualified."
"I know, but it's not time to despair. There's still a chance."
"Bane, I know it's going to be hard for you to give up Josey, but it's not going to be easy!"
It's true that Ward is the founder of Lakeen Ventures, but he doesn't make any decisions about the company alone. To invest in a company, the investment committee has to approve it, so how can they approve a company that is almost dead?
"Ward, please trust me once more, just seven days."
