Chapter 65 Deciding to Compromise
Bane let go of her hand. "Wait a minute, Sophie, while I fetch the doctor."
The doctor examined Sophie and determined that she had passed the crisis and been transferred to a normal room, though Sophie was clearly not as alert as before, as Bane could see.
Sophie, now, apparently had little energy, and though she was always smiling brightly and calling out for Mother, she was not clinging to Bane for a hug.
Anne saw this too, but they did not say it.
Bane had spent the last two days at the hospital taking care of Sophie, without going to work, until he couldn't do it anymore.
She had to get to work, and more than ever, she asked Anne to take care of Sophie.
"Don't worry, Bane. Leave Sophie to me."
"Sister Norah, please."
"I'm Sophie's godmother. Don't worry."
A flicker of intent came into Anne's eyes, and Sophie's sudden illness made all their breaths heavy.
Anne was not sure if Sophie would wake up again next time, so she decided to do something. At first she thought she would never bow down to those people, but this time she decided to give in.
Anne secretly under the decision, Bain did not find, she will own mood to tidy up, continue to work.
No one could fail to notice the change in Bane since returning to Leckern.
She takes orders diligently and throws herself into her work. Whether it is following up the project or researching the market, she is definitely the one at the front.
Ward could not bear to watch.
"Bane, have you been having any trouble lately?"
"No."
"You haven't been yourself these days. If you have any trouble, just let me know. I'll certainly do my best to help you."
Bane shook his head. "No," he said. "I can handle it myself."
She had a pile of debts from Bert, and she didn't want to be indebted to Ward.
Ward dropped his head and sighed heavily. He wondered when Bane would be less cold to him.
"Bane, what do I have to do to get you back to me?"
This whispered words, or was heard by Bane, she could not help but leng a moment, replied: "I am your staff."
It has to be this relationship.
Bert laid the papers in his hand on the table.
Sophie is indeed his daughter. The paternity test is as clear as day.
Unfortunately, he couldn't give Sophie a bone marrow transplant either.
"Mr. Ron, I thought I'd try your son's..."
After all, they're twins. It's an easy match.
Only Bert didn't say yes.
Because Norton is not in a good physical condition, and is so young, even if he could be a match, he should not be able to be extracted.
"Expand your search and make sure you find someone who's a bone marrow match."
"It is! The boss!"
Bert sat quietly, rubbed his temples, and at last put the papers on his desk into a drawer.
At that moment, there was a ringing sound from his cell phone, and when he looked at the electric display, Bert's mouth twitched and his face smelled cold. He didn't want to answer, but after thinking for a moment, he pressed answer.
"I call you now also dare not answer be?"
The old lady's breathless voice came from the phone.
"What is it?
"Back to visit the grave."
"No time."
"Bert Ron, what are you up to? Don't you even respect your grandfather?"
Bert curled his mouth. "You know what you're up to," he said. "I told you I had no time."
"You must come back this week, after all! Betsy is your wife, and you must live with her. You must come and get her! '
Bert leaned back in his chair and said casually, "The engagement is off. She is not my wife."
'Don't be ridiculous! You are his fiance. You go and register your marriage to Betsy some time. She helped you bear Norton.
'My own business, my own decision!
"Bert Ron! Watch your language! Betsy has done nothing wrong to you, but she gave you Norton, and when we Ron have him, you must marry her!"
"Have you finished? I'm very busy."
The old lady paused, her tone suddenly much colder. "You'd better not get involved with that woman. You don't think I don't know anything."
Bert's voice was much colder.
'I advise you not to mess around!
"I also advise you to marry Betsy as soon as possible, and after the registration, you may quarrel as much as you like."
"If you had her, you wouldn't have me!"
"Bert Ron! You're my grandson!"
"Or do you think I'll answer your phone?"
"Anyway, if you want the woman to be safe, do what I tell you. You can get away once, but you can't get away twice."
'Don't you dare!
"Bert, I'm trying to help you, how do stray cats and dogs from the road fit into our Ron's door?"
Bert heard a busy signal on his cell phone, and his face was very dark.
...
All this time, Bane had been going back and forth to the hospital company, and she had been in a state of overload, and she was sick.
At first it was just a groggy, red face, and when Anne saw Bane, she reached out and touched her forehead.
"Bane, you're sick!
Bane touched his forehead and said, "It's nothing. It should be because the weather is too cold these days. I'll take some medicine then."
"How can that be? You're so sick, you need an injection!"
"Sophie......"
Anne cut her short. "Sophie's ill. You must be well.
Bane thought for a moment and nodded, but she -- I'm not looking for a doctor here. Sophie's not going to find out."
Sophie would have been miserable to know that she was ill.
Anne couldn't say anything. Sophie had to be watched all the time as she was taking her new medicine, so she couldn't bring herself to see the doctor.
Once home, however, Bane was so tired that he lay down and fell asleep.
The next day, Ward waited a long time to see Bane show up for work. It was the first time she had been late to work, as she usually was early.
Call her phone has been unable to get through, a touch of anxiety welled up in my mind.
Ward could not wait any longer. He remembered how badly Bane had looked the day before, and without another word he went to the house where Bane was staying. He would go and find her himself.
He rang the doorbell for a long time but did not wait for Bane to answer the door. In desperation, he went to the property management office to answer the door. When he entered, he saw Bane, who had been burned and confused, his whole face glowing red.
